Is There Nothing That Obama Can’t Do?

The Squanderer;

Aifan al-Issawi, leader of the powerful Albu Issa tribe of Anbar Province in Iraq, has been killed in a terrorist attack.[…]

This exchange
gives some sense of the priceless strategic position President Obama threw away with his “responsible end to the war in Iraq.” It also gives a sense of the situation Iraq may be sliding toward now.
It bears recalling that we embraced Aifan and his tribe as allies, promised that we would stay by his side, and then, when it suited the new American president, abandoned him to fend for himself. Alas, Aifan’s faith in the worth of America’s promises turned out to be misplaced.

  1. Oh horrors, Obama threw out the ‘priceless strategic position’ of spending tens of billions of dollars so soldiers can get blown up in some foreign hellhole. Hey Kate, here’s a proposition: you raise the money and/or go to Iraq yourself! That way you can wage your Endless Wars for Non-conservatism without further bankrupting the USG.
BTW, in this case Obama just followed Bush’s schedule. Which is a good thing given that the Iraqi government was close to throwing the US forces out.

  2. US foreign policy was a basket case of intrigue, betrayal, bumbling, waste and subversion long before Obumbles and Shrillery Klinton got their mitts on it.

  3. Many Cossaks (’45), Hungarians (’56), South Vietnamese (’75) and Iraqis (’91) could not be reached for comment.

  4. I’d say it’s about time the US stopped pretending to be policeman of the world. Once they leave, it’s up to the people who are left to fight their own wars.
Trim down the presence of bases in Europe and let them take care of their own problems.
France is now trying to clean up the mess in Mali, clearing out some of the same a**holes who killed the US ambassador in Benghazi, Libya. Euroweenies? Who’s the weenie now?

  5. Once again, the Democrats snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. They chose to lose the Korean War; the Vietnam War; both the Iraq Liberation and the Afghan Liberation in the overall choosing to lose the War on Islamofascism.

  6. Who? Obama? The guy who has given Iran the nuke, armed Zetas and recognized Taliban?
Ah, I thought it was a different Obama.

But Roaring Bill (who killed him) thought it right.”
But don’t worry, LAS, there will always be those who fight to keep you safe.

Your in luck LAS Al Qaeda is putting Gaddafi’s armouries to good use just like you “hoped for” a few months ago.
Lots of slaughter all over, you must be pleased.

  9. Attention all: Knight99 is a pathological liar and mentally stunted individual who seems to be obsessed with me. Please disregard his bile.

What bile? Your words not mine – “hope they put the weapons {Gaddafi’s stolen armories} to good use.”
I’m just help’n out with the follow up. Why don’t you stand by your comments from one thread to another?
Geeze, it’s not like I brought up your support for non-Islamic paedophiles from a couple of months ago.
“Attention ALL” remembers your previous comments as well as I do, but unlike your mom I can’t let them slide.

  11. I’d point out that I was talking about Syria’s rebels but that’s no use. You’re mentally unbalanced and need help.

  12. LAS, did you not notice Obama’s negative treatment of Israel and his rewarding of Egypt and other Islamist states? Don’t you think his abandonment of Iraq is establishing a pattern? No? Yes?

I could go on like this all night if the spam filters let me. The only mentally unbalanced people around here are those that beak off to the world like they know something but can’t read a newspaper.

  14. Knight: so it has nothing to do with Mali. GET HELP.
OK: I think Obama’s foreign policy is like Bush’s but more…random. Like, completely random.

Like I said LAS your getting your wish, the “rebels” are indeed “putting Gaddafi’s weapons to good use”.
Thanks to Obamba and all his Liberal well wishers, North Africa is enjoying the fruits of his Nobel Peace Prize.
