  3. The current Administration has created the problem of a once productive and peaceful citizenry and now realizes that the people are not as stupid or cowardly as they were hoping. (at least those who didn’t vote for the usurper)
    Obama is following the Lincoln script brilliantly. Manufacture the crisis and then bring on the “solution”.

    Congre3s makes the laws, President vetoes or signs them.
    Congress can still pass the vetoed law with a significant enough majority.
    Castrobama is not a dictator nor a king, he’s the head of the executive branch, whose job it is to execute the laws passed by Congress.
    When will somebody call this guy out?
    Time to open a new can of impeachment.

    Anyway it will be interesting to watch them slowly define what “mental health issues” disqualify you from owning a gun. It can be anything they want.

  14. Pres. Obama trashed the 1st Amendment in Sept. 2012 when he endorsed the Sharia Law of blasphemy “the future must not belong to those who slander Islam.”
    Pres. Obama is now attempting to trash the 2nd Amendment, even if he has to use Obama-care to do it.
    It seems when he took the oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution, he had his fingers crossed.
    As he’s about to be sworn in for the second time, he may as well leave out the part about upholding the U.S. Constitution.
    When people discover that Obamacare means being presumed mentally ill and being obligated to prove otherwise, before being allowed the “privilege” of exercising the Constitutional Rights… then they’ll understand why he returned to the U.K. government the bust of Winston Churchill and replaced it with one of Joseph Stalin.(okay I made the part about Stalin up, but it is looking uncomfortably apt.)
    When physicians find themselves being “drafted” into Obama’s war on the 2nd Amendment via Obama-care, they may decide to move their practice to a pirate ship offshore.
    On the upside, I think, there are enough Americans who do believe in the U.S. Constitution and the ideals it represents, though somewhat under siege presently, will recover and endure.

  17. At first glance it looks like Obama is going to get more resistance from the ACLU than he is from the NRA.
    The sharing of mental health info and preventing gun ownership (or ownership of anytinhg else) based on mental health info given in confidence to a doctor is a red flag to the ACLU.

    It actually nowhere speaks of any types of firearms.

    Last time I checked they were not yet going to declare voting other than democrat mental illness.

  24. Republicans in congress should amend any gun control legislation so it includes that anyone who wants to be president will need a background check and it must be made public. It should be retroactive and include Obama.

  26. These laws are a complete joke. They are unenforceable given the number of firearms and people who possess them.
    Just wait for the first time some doctor finks out a patient and it is subsequently found that there was no validity to the accusation. Lawsuits will abound.

  27. As I read the list, I was saying “ka-ching” in my mind for every item that would require the use of federal funds and guessing which leftist groups were going to receive the funds.
    Also, if you want a federal agency to conduct a leftist study, they have to hire a leftist to do the job. It’s how they get and promote people through the ranks despite civil service reforms. They are molding the next generation of leftist bureaucrats at the upper echelons of federal management and general schedule employees.

  29. POTUS is pandering to his left wing base, and knows that effectiveness or success is not among the criteria by which the left assesses outcomes. So POTUS must only be seen to be doing something,and lofty language is the order of the day. Clearly, none of these policies (whatever they mean) will have any positive outcomes, and will be fraught with unintended negative consequences. But for those on the left, for whom reality is just a disregarded inconvenience, these new orders will further bolster their firm belief that they are righteous and moral, and that the right, who opposes them, is evil. And on the streets, and in the classrooms and theatres of the country, nothing will change.

  36. Everything in the orders seems unconstitutional. Sure crazy people kill a lot of people. Alberta used to lock up endless nut cases. Now they are treated “in the community”, weasel words for not treated at all. Doctors are expected to inform on their patients? Obama should run this in front of someone with a law degree, preferably someone with training in constitutional law. Did he buy his way through Harvard?

    I’m not at all sure he thought through the one about tracing back all guns used in crimes, there are a lot of fast and furious guns still out there. There’s probably a secret exemption for those.

  38. The more I read and hear about this, the more I am convinced that the Administration is desperately out of control and fearful. So, to counter their emotional responses and reactions, they are trying to gain some semblance of what they deem to be leadership and an are making up laws and regulations to try and take control before the inevitable train wreck. Losers trying to be winners, no matter what the cost.

  42. Any of you at SDA who were politically aware in 1990 realize that what Obumbles is attempting to do is implement UN gun control (AKA incremental civilian disarmament). We saw the same system attempted by the Chretien globalists but they were beaten back to the civil rights cluster frig we saw Harper half roll back to maintain some semblance of sanity.
    Obumbles has the same globalist NGOs and think tanks advising him as Twisted yap Chretien did, however Obumbles is a megalomaniac where Chretien was just a smug elitist – and he will try to foist the whole UN program on Americans in 27 different bills that attack the 2nd amendment in every existing regulatory regime from the environment to commerce to property law, to health premiums to IRS censure. It is an all-out attack on a constitutional amendment which has been a thorn to communist/Fabians/socialists/statists/authoritarians and would-be despots for an eternity. We are witnessing history. The republic will arise to this. Already I see Obumbles backing off in the face of threats of impeachment.

    For many parents keeping firearms is part of keeping children safe. The next step is teaching them how to use firearms safely and effectively (and have a lot of fun in the process).

    At best, Obama’s executive orders are window-dressing designed to appear to be taking action. At worst, they are ineffective and violations of a citizen’s rights.
    When will illegal handguns on the streets of Chicago wielded by Obama’s “sons” be taken?

    This gives the idea that “seized gun” from the owner will be returned AFTER his/her ability to own a gun has been checked. The gun is seized, then the police decide if it should be returned – indicating that they are going to seize the gun in the first place.
    This was the fear of gun registry in Canada … in the States this will probably be a reality.
    I hope I am wrong – it could become messy down there – if they try to seize guns by force. The bad part is that those in gangs will have more freedom to continue on their crime spree knowing that there are less guns out there to stop them. Only police, military, government officials and criminals will have guns.
