Say, how’s that #idlenomore thing working out for ya?
The chief received an approval rating of 29 per cent in a new Ipsos Reid poll conducted exclusively for Global News and Postmedia News.
The survey suggests the Idle No More movement hasn’t garnered much sympathy for Canada’s First Nations, but rather, raised awareness about financial accountability on the reserves.
Nearly two-thirds (64 per cent) of poll respondents believe Canada’s First Nations receive too much federal funding. About the same number (62 per cent) believe Ottawa treats Aboriginals well.
But Aboriginals are also creating problems for themselves, according to more than half (60 per cent) of respondents.

Once more, with feeling:
Tatunka!!
It just occurred to me, income tax time is soon upon us,and we are being held hostage by a bunch of people who live off OUR taxes, but don’t pay any taxes themselves!
It’s disturbing that they have any approval. Worse, they will probably prevail. No level of government has shown any willingness to make real reform or even just enforce the law and bust up these blockades. Extremism and disruption work.
I can already envision Heather Malice’s response to this: “But … But … But … that’s because most Canadians are R-A-C-I-S-T-S ! ! !”
And that was from Global News and Postmedia. Mostly Soccer moms and treehuggers. Imagine what you’d get from an actual cross section of employed tax payers. I say this as they should be the only ones who get a say in where their tax dollars are spent/squandered.
Just to show you how racist the survey is, Manitoba at 16% native pop. and Saskatchewan at15% native pop. Scored the lowest on the question ” is federal money being managed well by First Nations” at 8% agreeing. Those damn racist apples!
“Idle more and more” has done the country a favour.
We can now see what is going on, with very little spin.
What amazes me is that there are 36% & 38%, respectively, who actually believe that “we” don’t give the Indians enough money and don’t treat them well.
Please tell me. Who are these people?!
They are the ignorant idiots
get water cannons and load them from “honey-pumpers” and go hoz these blockade idiots with it!!!!
Honestly I feel for the 99% who are getting bent over on reserves. There are hard working natives in this country. They had the drive to leave and strive for independance and create a life for themselves and their families. Welcome. It’s the 1%, the chiefs, their family, their friends and hangers on that are the problem. Even at that I am willing to concede that maybe in this group there are good people but most of them all appear to be fat foucks. Even Princess Wantum, after her month plus hunger strike, appears to be a fat fouck so what’s the answer? A resounding no I hope…but am not holding my breath.
bverwey
Who are the 35%
Mostly NDPers, the welfare, bleeding heart crowd, as usual. Who else would side with the segregationist Native crowd?
American and South African blacks demonstrated and fought for yours to be integrated into their societies.
The Nativs want the opposite, segregation and isolation. I’m really questioning the collective intellignece of the FN. They are already isolated, and they want more of it, despite the damage it causes to themselves.
What’s the definition of insanity?
Chief Escalade Porkulus, emperor of the Oughtawopthiscat reserve , appears to have bought the worlds most worthless diet plan, hope reserve money wasn’t wasted on this to.
Maybe it is time the Greedy Whites blocade the Indians on the Reserves. Block all road access to all local towns and cities. Peacefully of course. Just exercising our rights to demonstrate you know.
More than interesting that the lowest approval of money management (8%) came from the population with the highest percent of Indians, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
Interesting, not surprising.
Sorry RFB, we’d love to, but like you we’re too busy working to pay the tax man.
Until auditors are appointed to ensure financial accountability, Ottawa should not hand out additional taxpayer dollars to any reserve, according to most Canadians (81 per cent).Global News: Spence lacks support of most Canadians: poll
and then there are the bright lights like Chief Clarence Louie from Osoyoos, BC…

Vi and All the girls at the hair salon told her to do WeightWatchers, but no she was convinced that the Harper Diet would work better. Guess it didn’t work too well.
Good thing they did not poll canadians about our trust in media, that can’t tell a soup swiller from a hunger-striker.
If Chief Moose Stew was not so obvious, I would suspect her of being a Harper Plant.
I love the law of unintended consequences.
She belongs in jail..pure and outright theft
It’s time for Canadians to snap out of it: the stupor we’ve been in since Pied-Piper Pierre lured us into the mountain of eternal slumber.
I’m heartened by the stats. Most of us are definitely saying to the graceless, bite-the-hand-that-feeds them Idle No More ingrates — who have more than most of us hardworking schlubs — “STFU and work a day in your life! Get a life, for pity’s sake! NO MORE crap from you guys! ‘Time for some responsibility and accountability in your lives and those of the people in your bands. We’re truly sick and tired of, fed up with, paying for your dissolute and corrupt lives and your exploitation of your own people.”
PM Harper and his government are between a rock and a hard place with the idiot, not to mention abhorrent, Librano$ and Dipper$ sucking up to the Idle No More vermin for votes. For votes. They could care less — as witnessed by years of their dealing with the Aboriginal portfolio with no discernible benefits to Canada’s Aboriginal peoples or the ROC — about the safety, health, and well-being of Natives. They’re just interested in embarrassing PM Harper and his government and making him out to be some kind of ogre. ‘Appalling.
We need a new day in Canada.
Natives need a new dawn — and the sun’s not going to rise with Idle No More.
We really should thank Chief Porkahontas for drawing attention to the native plight during a slow news cycle. Without it we wouldn’t know that Canadians (all races), as united people, are getting over the whole “white guilt” that we were fed in our school years. We would not be able to question financial responsibility, to better understand the poverty on the reserves without being accused of racism. Along with the hours of coverage given to the protests, many with blatantly racist slogans, we may have never been able to expose that racism is not a one way street.
Anyone who went to high school near a reserve like I did is very familiar with what the “issue” is vis a vis the natives and everyone was quite familiar with how the chief’s inner circle works. They were like royalty.
I read the banner underneath the news on t/v today.
Natives to block Windsor/Detroit crossing tommorrow.
Bad enough as it is sometimes, imagine the incovenience?
Our local paper in Sault Ste Marie published a large front page photograph of a native (partially masked) with a flag. He was on top of a large pile of snow in front of the courthouse. He appeared to be yelling. Perhaps he was yelling “Veni Vidi Vici”, or something like that. (laughs)
We were spared any real problem though, the police standing quietly by. We have four parallel streets east and west that are handy for through traffic. They did not try to shut down the International Bridge, connecting Michigan however.
First Nations millionaires club
From July, but it needs to be re-visited
Ezra at his finest, Chief Escalade at her finest.

Six Nations learned that if they allow the radicals (who were inflamed by far left provocateurs) take control of their political functions, their interests and legitimate complaints would soon be eclipsed by public backlash to the Bolshie lawlessness radicals engage in.
These belligerent idle no more theatrics and lawlessness are even less appreciated by the public , because unlike 6N, these indian act treaty bands are swimming in subsidy and this makes their feigned victimhood seem so much more irritating to taxpayers. Personally what angers me is the squandered opportunities First nations are given no one else gets and the depth of their political class corruption. I think this is the one truth about first nations leadership that was made starkly clear by Porkahantas’ diet stunting. A peek at her books reveals the stunt to be diversionary tactics.
Years ago I worked for Indian Affairs. What struck me then as now is that few if any aboriginals understand the Indian Act. With respect to their complaints, it is an irrelevant document. It is a bureaucratic administrative device setting out some basic rules concerning Band Elections, Membership and Estates and Land Administration. All of them relate to the necessary paperwork and rules necessary for making sure that things are done in an orderly fashion. The Indian Act has little, if anything, to do with control over native affairs, Federal Government Appropriations earmarked for Reserves, Indian Health, and financial support to individuals, communities and other special considerations. All such things are, and always have been, responsibilities that the Government assumes freely and sometimes because of Judicial interpretations of Federal responsibilities implied by Treaties. Effectively, Natives and Native Groups already have full control over the Indian Act in practice. Their complaints can only make sense as demands to be less free and under more control of the Government, financial and otherwise, outside the scope of the Indian Act. These are powers that the Government does not now have and to take them would reduce the ability of bands and their leaders to administer funding on their own so that the mismanagement occurring in virtually every Native community stop for the benefit of its members. Ultimately, there can be no other alternative.
The real losers in this are the media and Justin Trudeau. Both thought that just by focussing on the protest that the public would change its longstanding opinion on this issue. The antics of the dieter in chief only reinforced the vast majority’s opinion. Maybe next time both the media and JT will be more circumspect.
What’s most delicious is how WK has gone dark on the subject after the Sun wouldn’t even publish his column hearlding Chief Spend.
It’s always funny when one sees people like Chief Double Dipping Double Chin inadvertently shoot themselves in the foot. Anything that goes on regarding the “noble savage” will always result in one being shaken down for more cash. However, I think people are a little wiser in that they see the corruption and opportunism that the aboriginal industry and their useful white shame idiots employ.
I like what the Indians are doing to their credibility.
Its waking Canadians up to not only the problems from the crooked Indian Chiefs, but our political bought for Police as well. Its reality check, finally in Canada. This is what happens in countries that adopt caste systems. With some citizens above the Law . While others are just slaves to allow the users to live on them like parasites.
Frankly I hope this blows right up into their faces. Multiculturalism has made Canadians bond servants to a real criminal element. It does the Indians no good either.
We have actually allowed the insane to take over major civic institutions.
Personally I would like to see the end of these phony chiefs, with Natives having the right to own property. Ontarians should fire the OPP, as we should disband the RCMP. They stink of corruption, if not political skunkery. Compared to the respect they owned when I grew up. You can see the influence of the Mad social engineers have destroyed any honor they once had. With socialist nonsense accompanied with the usual racism disguised as Tolerance.
Right on, Rev.
It’s time to turf out the whole lot; we’re becoming just like a corrupt, dysfunctional Third World country. This is what happens in countries that adopt caste systems. With some citizens above the Law . While others are just slaves to allow the users to live on them like parasites.
Enough is too much.
NO MORE (crap).

Great summary of the issue. I have always maintained that the “Cheifs” and their legal support industry only are looking after their own lush interests. The calls for more money and entitlement is so they can live a more lavish unaccountable lifestyle while their people go without and are sold into deeper dependancy/austerity.
Porkahantas has made native leadership mismanagement starkly clear to the public and ,hopefully, things will now change for the better of the majority of natives who have been repressed under such corpulent, grasping leadership. More personal empowerment for band individuals and more accountability and restraint on native leadership will help evolve the native nations into vital and productive partners in the Canadian nation.
