But Glenn Beck Is The Crazy One

Beck interviews Brian Lilley;

…this is my apology on behalf of all the people in Canada to all the people of the United States of America because we gave birth to what is soon to become Al‑Jazeera USA because before Al Gore bought it, Current TV started out as the U.S. operations of our state broadcaster, CBC. And I can tell you they didn’t really change editorial direction when Gore bought them and I don’t think they will change editorial direction all that much with Al‑Jazeera at the helm.

  1. That’s a great quote … although personally … I don’t take responsibility for having anything to do with Current TV.

  2. So the Goracle makes out like a bandit on Arab oil dollars, before the Obama tax increase. The obvious question is…Where is Keith Olbermann?

  3. Al Jazeera is a very good news network. Up there with BBC and CNN, and far ahead of the talking-head rant channels with no actual news like FNC and MSNBC.

  4. There was a time when Al Capone was a rich folk hero, too. al-Gore’s story isn’t finished yet – if this is what is known about him publicly, just think what else will come out eventually…

  5. “Lewis’ main claim to fame (or, rather, infamy) was an interview he conducted with former Dutch parliamentarian and author Ayaan Hirsi Ali in June 2007. The segment quickly made Lewis, and by extension the CBC, a worldwide laughingstock. But instead of ending his broadcasting career, that interview may have served as Avi Lewis’s inadvertent “audition” for Al-Jazeera.”

  6. I agree completely. al Jazeera understands what a television program should be, whereas the usual US format is to begin an item with a talking head, who then hands off to a second talking head, who then shows 20 seconds of “the story” (usually not intelligible), and then the segment is wound up with another talking head who tells us what it all means. Might as well be radio. al Jazeera typically will begin with a video, providing commentary in voice-over, and if there is a “talking head” he or she is usually in the scene being shot at or bombed as the case may be.
As for bias, al Jazeera is not nearly so biased as CNN, ABC, CNBC, Reuters, CBC, CTV etc. Watching their Web site is like a breath of fresh air.

  7. Yeah – in decent countries, possession of firearms is mandatory, and Switzerland is one of those countries. In slave countries in the making, possession of firearms (except for the rich) is illegal.
Canada and the US are in between.

  8. Leave it to a rapacious socialst like Gore to buy up a public company for pennies on the dollar, suck it dry and sell it at a premium to America’s enemies.
As an unlilling share holder in the start up public network he bought I want to know where my share of the loots is? Oh forgot, socialist business is all about insider deals.

  9. If it wasn’t so biased, hate filled and repetitive, Sun News would be almost as good as Al Jazeera. Almost.

  10. Al Gore fits CBC With its leftist loons, like a condom.
He should fit right in while they screw the World with its dazzling Muslim propaganda.

  11. Yea. I don’t want about how the CBC should be underfunded.
David Suzuki makes me want to vomit.

  12. I remember a female writer for the british Guardian who did a complete 180, now dissalusioned by the left, quit the newspaper.
I think it may have been here that Kate brought her name to our attention. If anyone knows her name, I’d like to find out what she’s doing now.
