Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

In his mind the registry was a failure because it wasn’t used for its intended purpose: a database for confiscation.
Next time around the Liberals will just ban anything that isn’t a “hunting” rifle. The sad thing? There are ‘hunters’ that believe that anything beyond their .30-06 once-a-year deer rifle shoud be banned, and will go along with it.
David Southam, little Justin means the cop took the bullets out before they let him play with the pistol. Contrary to the phobic insanity of most city dwellers who vote Liberal, an empty gun is a lump of cold iron and suitable for playing cowboys and Indians in the living room. Under the watchful eye of responsible adult supervisoin, of course.
I added that last bit there because “responsible adult supervision”, while well understood in Conservative households, is not a given in Liberal menagerie-style living arrangements.
Incidentally, nothing would please me more than if Shiny Pony ran to the Right of the CPC on the gun issue. It’ll never happen, and I’d never be sucker enough to believe the Pony for a second if it did. But it would be nice to see the conversation take a turn in the direction of common sense for a change, wouldn’t it?
Ha Ha, JT the polar bear hunter.
Justin Trudeau is two-faced, a liar and an opportunist; but his family did fashion coyote fur on a Christmas card a couple years ago.
I do believe he is honest about his beliefs on guns being an important part of our culture, but I also believe he would turn on his beliefs, morals and ethics in a heartbeat if that meant getting elected.
This article wouldn’t be so meaningless if you could trust a liberal.
Regardless of your opinion on the Shiny Pony’s statement, I still would have paid a $100.00 to see the look on Mark Holland’s face when he read this.
As “bartinsky” mentioned December 1,2012 9:32 PM, it’s definitely finger to the wind politics.
This is what we can expect from the Shiny One as he changes his mind to coincide with popular opinion that doesn’t fit with his previous musings.
I wonder how all of this will be Jason Kenney’s fault later.
David Southam >
“Yes, the RCMP guarding me had handguns and I got to play with them every now and then, ………..the RCMP was “very responsible”
“………….I am missing something?” – David S.
Yes, you are missing the point that handling handguns, children, and responsibility are not mutually exclusive of each other.
Trudeau really made the case for firearms owners here. He only needed to cite statistics showing lower violent crime in none Liberal gun owning cities and states to complete it, but I guess even he has his limits.
A telling comment in his little speech. “The long gun registry, as it was, was a failure…..”
Thank you Justin for agreeing with the obvious so how are you going to change your version of the LGR when you bring one in (and we know you will if you get the chance) so that it’s not “as it was”. Perhaps he’ll just ban private ownership of all guns hey that’s different then the failed registry.
Suddenly, he’s a redneck.
I wouldn’t believe a word he says on gun control or the LGR. He will say anything to get elected. His actions speak louder than his lies after all since he did vote to keep the LGR. He is a silver spoon socialist who was guarded by armed RCMP when he was a child but would not trust citizens to protect themselves with firearms since he believes his own life is more important than ours.
His fundraising will be easy if people can pay to watch him being chased around by polar bears.
Give your head a shake people. We finally have a potential leader from the east sucking up to the west. At the same time we have a leader from the west sucking up to the east. Don’t you see where we could get a little benefit here if we were to put the blind, irrational hatred away for awhile?
Terry, don’t be fooled by the Turdeau’s BS. He will lie to you to get your vote and then stab western Canadians in the back again just like his POS father.

If nothing else, reading the leftards trying to save the dauphin in this 180 over at the cbc site is hysterically funny.
The Phantom, 10:25a.m. and Knight 99, 1:19p.m. —
I take both of your correct points re: Trudeau’s claim that his RCMP protection detail let him play with their unloaded weapons, but that was not what I was getting at. Both of your points may well have been along the lines of what this story was intended to show.
But, I just don’t believe the story: he means to tell us that on-duty RCMP officers, responsible for the PM’s family’s safety, would have committed a breach of security and procedure by unloading their weapons and surrendering them to a kid for playtime purposes? To accept that story would require the willing suspension of disbelief, to quote someone we know only too well: I think the story is another contrivance to embellish his own gun credentials.
It would be nice if the RCMP officers involved would come forward and confirm or deny the story. It would be even nicer to catch him in a lie about this.
David Southam >
Oh for sure, no doubt he lied about RCMP letting him “play” with a gun. Maybe he held an unloaded one once, play with it I doubt it.
Waaay back when I was in elementary school an RCMP came to visit and give the community cohesion shtick. All the boys were fascinated with the pistol of course and he diligently let a few of us hold it (supervised and empty of course).
Not a big deal to imagine the same sort of thing happened with JT.
I do like the foot-in-mouth leftist way that he’s publicly legitimizing our national gun culture and the fact that guns can be handled safely around children, that’s all.
So he was before it before he was against it. The John Kerry of the North.
The Liberal big cheeses must hear the banjo theme from Deliverance when they cross the border into Glengarry-Prescott-Russell.
First Iggy’s bus breaks down in here and gets towed by Harpers Diesel.
Now the Shiny Pony has stepped in a steaming pile of his and his own party’s sh*t.
I can hardly wait to get to town to see the local Liberals walking funny with their arseholes all puckered up.
Did he also promise to reimburse every Canadian tax payer for the indecent cost of the failed long gun registry?
that is probably why the cost is never mentioned anywhere
Let’s try that again. 🙂
He was for it before he was against it.
GregW, you’ve reminded me of one of my favourite cartoons of the 90’s. It showed two kids opening their presents under the Christmas tree. The little girl has just opened hers to find a “My Little Pony”, and she’s looking with dismay at her little brother who is opening up a package labelled, “My Little Knacker’s Yard”.
