  1. It makes me proud to see us raising a generation of proud young fascists whose response to beliefs they disagree with is to ban them.

  2. Try this:

Me I must confess I wonder why they even bothered applying for official club status, much less wasting the hardly unlimited resources of the pro-life movement on trying to force the heathens at their technical school to give it to them. Reverend Paisley might as well have asked the Pope for permission to hold Free Presbyterian services in a Catholic “church”—and with about as much success. Why do they need the devil’s approval for God’s work?
Is it free meeting space they want? Consider the lilies of the field, my children, and look farther afield for a Christian willing to give you space to hold your meetings. If you’re doing the Lord’s work, the Lord will provide in His own way.

  3. I enjoyed their hyperdramatic website (B.C. Pro-Life Student Group Denied Right to Exist on their University Campus). That, however, doesn’t appear to be the case: according to the National Post article, the group is eligible for recognition. What they want, however, is funding.

Hmm, church in quotations, comparing the pope to the devil. Gee Dick, you wouldn’t be anti-Catholic or anything, would you?

  5. As far as I’m concerned, Kwantlen isn’t even a real university, just a hodge-podge of community colleges.
The real answer to this sort of crap is to make membership in, and funding of students’ unions totally voluntary. It’s not now. You go to a college, you are forced to kick in money for the students’ union (however named). That creates a money pool, and parasites, mostly larval Dippers, arise spontaneously to control and spend it. Cut off the money supply and starve them to death.

  6. The institutional left didn’t get to own the culture by embracing critical thinking and honest debate. It rules because it understands envy politics, brute force, intimidation and dominance by looters and thugs. There’s a reason they are called Student “Unions”.

  7. Now, if a group calling themselves Marxists For The Shooting of Capitalists asked for recognition it would be granted in a heartbeat.
Leftist are so tolerant if you agree with everything they stand for.

  8. Credentialist institutions should be abandoned by students who want an education, they would save an enormous sum of money by not subsidizing intellectual sloth.
Employers now, and certainly in the future, won’t be paying the big bucks for credentials, they’ll want to see real education.

  9. Right ON, Philanthropist!
I myself shun so-called, self-proclaimed medical “experts” who claim to know something about the human body just because they’ve “studied” “medicine” to an arbitrary standard, adjudicated by a cabal of credentialist elites. And don’t get me started on these self-infatuated fascists who call themselves “engineers” and claim that THEY’RE the only people competent to erect buildings and stuff.

  10. I’m currently attending Kwantlen for journalism, and I have to say, after seeing the atmosphere of this school, this story isn’t surprising in the least…

  11. blabluian – yeah yeah, we’re all drooling hillbillies because we think universities are overrated and over-funded. Smart people like you know that a person with an advanced degree in Women’s Studies is an expert on women in exactly the way that a person with a degree in Medicine is an expert on being a doctor.
For God’s sake, Michelle Obama went to Princeton and she’s a semi-literate. If you really can’t distinguish between respecting education and respecting credentialism then yikes. I do suspect you’re playing dumb here (which in no way rules out the possibility that you may actually be dumb).

  12. Overheard at the Kwantlen student council meeting:
“We gotta keep those crazy ‘blob of tissue’ lovers outta our halls of higher learning”.

  13. Black Mamba
Nice rejoinder to the old communist, complaining his usual old socialist self with dubious comparisons. IF not Lies peppered with innuendo.
    Marxism, the art of misdirection.

  14. Sorry, Revnant – could you ask someone to edit your stuff before posting it? The incoherence…it burns.

  15. Oh, look! Balbulican and Dick Slater are trying to be relevant.
Go back to your Israel-hating echo chambers, babulican. No one cares what you think.
We hardly need more proof that universities are now cesspools of intolerance and mindless thuggery. Either allow ALL groups or start paying students back their fees.
