According to a new census report released Friday, almost one-quarter, 23.5 percent, of all Californians are in poverty. One-third of all the nation’s welfare recipients live in the state, despite the fact that California has only one-eighth of the country’s population. That’s four times as many as the next-highest welfare population, which is New York. Meanwhile, California eighth-graders finished ahead of only Mississippi and District of Columbia students on reading and math test scores in 2011.

No doubt the moroons in power there will think up job killing regulations, ludicrous environntal schemes, as well as more taxes, and do their best to increase that percentage.

“Those middle-class families fleeing California would have nowhere to go.” They sure as hell do. Alberta and Saskatchewan are crying for skilled workers,and not just migrant types for a job or two.

There is a problem with migration, though. Too often these economic migrants bring the belief system that caused their misery, both social and economic, with them. Witness the recent success of the Redford “Tories” in Alberta.

I think you will find the poverty figures are similar in other populous areas. this is the result of illegal immigration and a long term depression. Does it make sense now what all those unconstitutional arrest, detain and martial law executive orders were for that Obama was passing like mad in the first term?
What is going to happen when the food stamps and welfare dry up and forced austerity is the only way to save the national economy???

Actually California is in trouble precisely because the schools were dumbed down a generation ago in the interest of “fairness”. It’s the only way the Dems could take total control. And now that they have control the school performance numbers will improve. The actual performance won’t but the numbers will. Nudge, nudge, wink wink.

As a kind of rhetorical question, one might ask how many of those “Hollywood friends of Obama” if they pay California taxes. I wonder where their official residences might be? For sure, a lot ain’t in California.

Note: CA, with a population of 33 million, has a deficit of $2 billion. Ontario, with a population of 11 million, has a deficit of $16.3 billion. No one in Ontario can sneer at California.

The challenge Calif. has is in curbing spending which is running almost 50 bil. annually more than money coming in. Between the EPA and the hostile business environment with hundreds of new regulations coming on stream as well as the determination to impose carbon taxes next year, it looks like their determination to commit economic suicide will be successful.

Secession is hot lately but likely frivolous. It makes more sense to me to kick a few dead-weight states out of the Union.

Amazing isn’t it that California and New York are solidly Democrat and occupy the bottom of the swamp. The only way they can improve their standing is to bring the rest down to below their level, so they vote for Obama.

I just came back from NYC, I think they are about to witness a debacle . the stores are empty of customers and the shelves are packed. there is nothing moving.

Canadian Friend has it right. When California is populated by Mexicans it will look like Mexico. Would Switzerland still be Switzerland if it was populated by Mexicans? Why would California be any different.

Why is it that the best pieces of real estate in N. America quickly become leftist shitholes? The first time I visited California over 30 years ago, I was determined to move down there eventually and now I’m glad that I didn’t. Vancouver used to be a great place to live but it is now the moonbat capital of Canada and I won’t even visit the place anymore. Only northern Florida still appears to have some sane people living there, but given a choice between the climate of Florida and that of S. California, I’d take California – assuming it could be made moonbat free.
So, I guess I should try to enjoy the snow as it seems to repel moonbats more efficiently than garlic repels vampires.
