  1. Along with nv53 I have to side with the barber on this one. His business is not a public venue in the true sense of the word. Further he has the charter right of free association. IOW the right to be left alone, which must be reciprocated. If it can be proven that he verbally berated her then she might have a case. Simply refusing service doesn’t cut it.
(Sorry for the play on words.)
Was a time when barbers catered to men only and nobody complained. No self-respecting man would allow a woman (other than his wife) to cut his hair – and ladies patronized beauty salons.

  2. It’s not that hard to work out, really:
    LBGTQQI trumps straight.
    Racial Minority trumps White.
    Female trumps male.
    But:
    LGBTQQI trumps female.
    Racial Minority trumps LGBTQQI.
Since Muslim is equated with Racial Minority by libs (even though Islam itself is not a race) this means Muslim should easily trump LGBTQQI/female. Add the fact that this female LGBTQQI plaintiff is also white, and it’s a slam dunk. Case closed.

  3. I bet a beer there will never be a ruling as there are no normal people involved. The whole story will just kind of faaaade away.

  4. Rex Murphy’s got a good column on this subject in National Post today: “Freedom’s bad hair day”, worth a read.
