Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What They Say About SDA
"Smalldeadanimals doesn't speak for the people of Saskatchewan" - Former Sask Premier Lorne Calvert
"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
If “someone else made it happen” and I think it is certainly true in how BO got to be president, then how come all his speeches contain so many “my”s, and “I”s and seemingly never a “we” when he tries to highlight the administration’s accomplishments (of which only he thinks there are some).
I love it! I wonder if “HE” built the teleprompter?
And the really scarey part of all this is that this dangerous socialist clown, with zero business experience, will put himself in charge of all business in the US…and any country that deals with the US. A truly dangerous man.
Those are awesome. I wonder if Obama ever wondered where the gov’t got all that money to build the roads and bridges?
Jon Lovitz rocks.

Nice Photoshops. Too bad none of those guys built Photoshop.
Bambi is a miracle worker. The first miracle is that US unemployment has been higher than Canadian for his entire time in office. The second, new one, is that Canadian personal wealth now exceeds US personal wealth.
These are miracles because they are, in essence, impossible given that Canada’s economy is highly dependent on exports to the US. Furthermore, we Canadians have remained – Canadian. Not bad, but we are not the tirelessly energetic business powerhouses that Americans are; we don’t take such big risks for big payoffs; we aren’t technological innovators and creators nearly to the extent that Americans are.
Yup! Bambi, magician!
I hope the neo-Kulaks over at the Peoples’ Cube pile on – they’re the best at this sort of thing.
Hey, thanks for all the traffic ! SDA is a great site. Wish you could take credit for building it.

Ya know that this comment about businesses owing their success to others goes back months?
It first came from a female democrat … I’m pretty sure there was a post here at SDA on that.
Short memories ………….
Why do you guys think he came up with this? There’s no way he build that sentence himself. In other words I doubt this was unscripted, this was about energizing communist kooks.
OMMAG @ 3:47
He ripped it from Elizabeth “Fauxcahontas” Warren from Haaaaavahd.
It was Elizabeth Warren………….
OMMAG:
I remember that now. If I remember correctly she backpedal just as hard as Obama did when the backlash came.
And the really scarey part of all this is that this dangerous socialist clown, with zero business experience, will put himself in charge of all business in the US…and any country that deals with the US. A truly dangerous man.

But that’s the problem with so many ‘professional’ politicians, on the right or the left, isn’t it?
Because their paycheques (usually government ones) have always arrived on time with the anticipated amount, they are utterly divorced from the realities of making their own way in the world.
Risk, consequences, profit and loss are concepts that are as foreign to them as the idea of a 37.5 hour work-week with pension and benefits is to the guys and girls who are trying to get ahead on their own innitiative and innovations.
Our political elite just can’t conceive a world without all the trappings of a nanny state.
Hence, the thought that the legislation they just raised their hands in favour of might be detrimental to small businesses never enters their minds.

Fox News says Romney is pouncing on this Obama ‘slip up’.
The only thing that slipped was the mask.
It’s a Leftest shibboleth, this is what they believe as a group.
This has been standard leftist boilerplate drivel for many decades and typically used to justify more government spending and claims on private incomes.
Hopefully, this slip will convince the few remaining delusional producers, to GIVE UP.
There is no honor, no virtue, in prolonging the pain.
If someone else (government) built it, why are we paying taxes on it?
After Al Gore built the internet 0bama built his Blackberry, ‘cuz it didn’t just happen.
If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that.
– BHO
Not to defend the Marxist gangsta thug but are we mis-reading a sloppy statement? Doesn’t the phrase, “you didn’t build that”, tho it immediately follows the word “business” refer to the roads and bridges, and not the business.
Hmm, if you built a business you should thank the rest of society for their help and contributions.
How about the welfare bums, Occupiers, lazy government workers and other assorted leeches?
Should they be showing some thanks to society?
Or maybe even contribute something to society?
Or is that the side of the coin we aren’t supposed to think about?
Doesn’t the phrase, “you didn’t build that”, tho it immediately follows the word “business” refer to the roads and bridges, and not the business.
Probably. Business pays taxes for those as well. The share used is the share paid for, in some cases, more paid than used.
The point remains the same.
These moving trucks pulling up to the White House. I didn’t send for them. Somebody else sent them.
Communism is better! Participant ribbons for everyone! Too funny. Wow the USA has taken a dive, that is the chief.

Yeah like all them truckers out there using public roads…..
Ever priced the plates/operating permit for such? Cross a state/provincial line and then pay for trip permit(operating authority) and fuel permit (fuel tax) before ya turn a wheel….
If you have a rig evry damn road is a toll-road.
Obama didn’t put himself into an elite private school or fund his own presidential campaign or write his books, did he?
He did tack on trillions of dollars of debt, though.
From the link: “What a disastrous little man. He’s a parasite that thinks he’s a host.”
That’s just about right.
nv, that is a great line
“a parasite that thinks he’s a host.”
That perfectly describes every anti-business zealot.
Fauxcahontas doubled down on the statement yesterday:

Me No Dhimmi, there are no “sloppy statements” in prepared Presidential speeches in an election year. Every word is argued and agonized over by a team of speechwriters.
Doesn’t the phrase, “you didn’t build that”, tho it immediately follows the word “business” refer to the roads and bridges, and not the business.

Saw the Romney ad. The ad tactically leaves out the “roads and bridges” before the “you didn’t build that” for obvious reasons. You gotta laugh: the thug goes off teleprompter ONCE and provides a opposition rallying cry of historic significance.
But, heh, I’m only making an observation. I’m Me No Dhimmi and I approve this message!

Or above link to awesome new ad.
Following up:
It’s OUR “fake but true” moment for though the fabulous new rallying phrase did not mean exactly what he intended (fake) the the paraphrase of the one’s message is accurate (true). He revealed his deep inner marxism (ET!) the moment he got off the teleprompter.
All blessings come from government! Statolatry!
Businessmen need to be thankful for this government beneficence and give back some of what they TOOK from the community.
Success is purchased at the expense of others: zero sumism. The Zero is definitely a commie zero-sum-man. Boy! Punk!
Mississauga Matt, the People’s Cube site is hilarious. Fun to scroll through.
Sgt Lejaune, “Kulaks, save your cow!! VOTE ROMNEY!!”, and our seed grain if I may.
Wish I could help, but we have our own Bolsheviks here in Canada to fight against.
Some say it was taken out of context,
So please tell us, what is the proper context for saying?
‘If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen’
Go ahead, I’m listening.
