Democrats: They’ll do for America what they’ve done for Detroit.
The latest scandal, which leaves even hardened observers of the abysmal Democratic machine that has run the city into the ground bemused, involves a real estate firm which gave the felonious mayor massages, golf outings, trips in chartered jets and other perks as this enemy of the people went about his hypocritical business of pretending to care about the poor while robbing them blind. The firm, apparently run by a sleazy low class crook named by the reprehensible Kilpatrick to be the Treasurer of what was left of Detroit’s finances, used Detroit pension funds to buy a couple of California strip malls. Title to the properties was never transferred to the pension funds, and they seem to be out $3.1 million.

You’ve never driven on a road until you’ve driven on Detroit and/or Michigan road.
You need another vehicle following you for spare parts after the nuts and bolts have all fallen out of the bottom of your car.
It’s also a very scary experience to drive onto I75 in Mi from Windsor, On. You just want to get the heck outta there.
Real fast.
Obamba address to the City of Detroit May 05 2012 –
“Hey there all my bruthas and sistas about that free house and car I promised you, it was robbed by that white guy Kwame Malik Kilpatrick, now go get him”.
Do these “strip” malls have any massage parlors, just wonderin
FrankQ, I75 ain’t bad, try downtowndeetroyat:-))))
They keep getting what they keep voting for. Detroit is now such a basket case that any politician that promises anything but future pain will be lying. Motor city to welfare city with union support.
Deetois highways aren’t -that- bad… so long as you don’t get off at the wrong exit.
For -bad- highways you can’t beat NYC. Expansion joints on bridges are like speed bumps in a mall parking lot, literally six inches high. The stupid b@st@rds just keep adding asphalt to the surface, they never grind any off. Doesn’t help anything either, they always have pot holes you could bury a race horse in.
I was on the Cross Bronx Expressway one time, I hit a bump so bad that my coffee cup was launched from its clip-on holder, bounced off the roof and landed in the back seat.
And God help you if you slow down for a crater. Whatever maniac is behind will end up in your trunk. What we consider brutal tailgating is what they consider normal spacing. Tailgating is when they actually hit your bumper.
I surfed upon this photo that I had been saving because it begs a caption – I think I found it

this is a picture of the RNC attempting to pull a miracle out of their tuchus with Romney as the designated POTUS candidate.
I’ve lived in the suburbs of Detroit for 9 years. I try to NOT go down to the city, but sometimes there are occasions I must go there. I had an occasion recently to drive West Jefferson through River Rouge and the South side of Detroit, what an education. I know you can see homes with broken out windows from I-75, but if you drive through some of these neighbourhoods where there is hardly anybody living, its quite enlightening.
Most of the problems here are rooted in the race riots of the 1960s. My wife and inlaws all left in the early 1970s to live in the ‘burbs because they didn’t want to be part of violence downtown. Lately even the black people who find themselves in a middle class lifestyle leave to the suburbs. Hard to run a city with no revenue. They’ve been talking about urban farming some of these abandoned places, I’m not sure thats the best thing but at least it would draw in some of the resources of the city.
Its been quite disgusting lately to hear the entitled attitudes of the residents of Detroit who have been bargaining with the state for bailout money. They ruined the place and now would like a free handout to keep their corruption going. We have a Republican Governor, lets hope he stops at least some of the corruption.
What Michigan needs is a judge like “Maximum John” from New York.
Too bad he’s passed on. And the law schools strangely, never mention him.

Under capitalism, resources and property tend to be in the hands of those who can use them most productively.
Under socialism, they tend to be in the hands of looters.
Oh well, nothing can be done…
Nothing grows where Kwame goes, or Jackson, or Farrakan, or Barry or Nagin or…..
Well I dunno…..I unofficially never minded driving in New YARK…..with a rig.
Officially I just told the dispatch that unless there was a hun bonus for getting within 40 mi of New Yark….the load would be a lever-right (I’d leave it right on the dock).
Did go there often….unless they couldn’t find a fool to do it….
The way I see it…if you got the money…then I got the time.
