  2. Delay probably had little to do with the decision to kil bin laden. It’s just that it took ‘bama and company ten months to work out the wording of the disclaimer in the event the operation went wrong.

    Barry wasn’t procrastinating, he was on luxury vacation #15 back then an couldnt make it for the WH war room photo ops until the star studded Motown bash later in the year.
    Give him a break he’s also working with his ghost writter on his 5000 page autobiography and another Noble Peace Prize, in between golf games and the basketball playoffs. Sheesh.

There is a requirement for positive identification (of the target) and a sevondary dedire to establish patterns of life in and around the target area which could reasonably have taken quite a long time to obtain without revealing surveillance methods and sources. Ten months does seem like quite a long time though.

  15. The biggest surprise is that Obambam didn’t wait until about a week before the vote. But I suppose someone in the White House told him about Carter’s crash. It likely came as a complete shock to Obambam since he wasn’t an American at the time.

Let’s hope they were getting valuable intel while they sat on him. But every minute President Strawman dithered, was a minute the Special Ops guys’ lives were risked. For his sake. That’s what’s called “respect for the military”. Still, I’ll bet they’re thankful it wasn’t Romney calling the shots.
    In any case, OBL should have been captured. He wasn’t only because he would have been an embarrassment to anti-Gitmo, anti-military tribunal, anti-rendition, anti-American AliBama.

  21. syf, as far as I know Canadians have to go through much the same process as Kenyans in becoming American citizens.

    You must be confusing Obama with his father.
    Obama was born in Hawaii. He may have lived some of his formative years in Indonesia, but he was born in Hawaii.
    I’m no Obama fan, but the birther and 9/11 truther conspiracy theories seem pretty wacky to me … even though the target of their derision is against competing political parties.

  24. Obama’s citizenship was conferred by his mother’s US citizenship whether born in Hawaii or Kenya. It’s his eligibility to stand as POTUS that requires Hawaii as his place of birth.
    I suspect that once enough people knew about Bin Laden, Obama figured he had no (political) choice but to CYA to the max and give the reluctant order.

  25. IMHO Bin Landin had become irrelevant-marginalised….and I suspect long deceased when the Abbotabad raid took place.
    This whole matter is murky….especially the clandestine disposal of the alleged remains.
