Having had a fairly long experience in the “services”….
I always regarded ranges as dangerous places…for good reason. I still hold the position I lost more folks to range accidents and jeep rollovers than enemy action. To this day I am still as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room fulla rocky chairs…at ANY shooting range….formal or informal.
The setup where Cheney had the incident was a defacto range with live targets…
I suspect that, post accident, Dick Cheney is likely a candidate for a strict range officer.

Sasquatch, I definitely heard that. There do seem to be an awful lot of otherwise reasonable guys out there who just can’t seem to hear and follow simple instructions, even when said instructions are screamed through a bullhorn into their ear by really big, mean sergeants.
