    That’s true though about Clinton, Reagan, Obama and Palin having StarPower — the X factor. Does anyone have a more disarming smile than Obama? The ability to put out a high-wattage smile, naturally, is a hugely important asset.
    What amazes me about Palin is her inveterate CHEERFULNESS.
    It’s also true that, just as in sales, in politics personality and the common touch — the ability to connect to human beings where they live — trump technical knowledge and intellectualism. But Obama doesn’t have the common touch. His subsitute is a false narrative about his IQ. I’ve been wondering lately if PET’s alleged high IQ was a false narrative.
    Despite his blue-blood heritage, Bush 43 had the common touch too.

All I could envision as the person in your comment was Belinda Stronach who’s father wasn’t a politician (neither was Belinda by a long shot) but he was wealthy. Belinda couldn’t hold a candle to Sarah in any of the categories you identified so I lost my mind and got confused. S’okay, I vote with more insight than I type. 🙂

The speech consisted of English words but the combinations were devoid of any meaning. Are these people testing some new psychoactive drug for the CIA which is designed to turn peoples speech into word salads?

There is probably a large element of jealousy in that response, but I also see a more general liberal response to social conservatives in that, namely, how can anyone think they are smart enough to be involved in politics, after all, they believe in Jesus and … you know what I mean. After all, the Sarah Palins of Canadian politics are either back-benchers or outside of politics altogether. So I tend to see her reaction through that filter, a more general dislike of evangelicals. And that’s not confined to liberals, by the way.

What drives people on the left crazy is that Sarah Palin has never lowered herself to their level of hate and vindictiveness. Mika and women of her “ilk” will never agree that conservative women are every bit as capable and intelligent. It doesn’t fit their meme. If you can’t have it(or don’t have it) tear it down – that’s seems to be the definition of “progressive” today.

    Sarah Palin is not only far more beautiful (and, to put it bluntly, hotter) than you have ever been, even after having given birth to five children, she is better-mannered and more intelligent. She has made it on her own, unlike you. She even has a nicer voice than you, because her voice isn’t a sneer; it’s a friendly, welcoming voice.
    It hurts to know these things, of course, but somebody with intelligence and class wouldn’t display the hurt as publicly as you have.

  44. Sarah Palin is by far my favorite political figure since Ronald Reagan. Few people who lead have the ability to communicate to the masses with such appeal as does Sarah. The fact that she is beautiful also helps. Those of us who understand the function of the federal government according to the constitution identify with her. Those that wish to change the constitution to give the federal government a lot more control despise her and fear her as they did Reagan. Sarah will play an important role in the future administrations – I am sure of it.

I’m an intelligent, quite well educated (Canadian “Ivy League” university), reasonably attractive woman, who’s a big fan of Sarah Palin: intelligent, engaged, well informed, successful (even at taking on the Republican old boys) ex-governor; responsible, loving, and loyal wife and mother; muscular Christian; and articulate and courageous teller of truth to power.
    That this brave and beautiful woman remains positive, focused on the issues that count, and charitable, while enduring the most despicable calumnies is a testament to her big heart and sterling character. A conservative, Christian Republican is NOT supposed to look and behave like Sarah: she’s off the plantation/reservation and going rogue. Yikes! So, progressives, grind your teeth and prepare the poisoned darts to your heart’s content: your anti-Sarah strategies haven’t weakened her one iota and won’t. Process that FACT and despair!
