I guess the best efforts to make the toy-gun story go away, failed.
Brian Lilley talks.
KW’s 570News – Jeff Allen’s 9am podcast, and the 10 am podcast (although I couldn’t get it working so it may not be up yet). 10 am podcast is working now.
Allen’s 9am show features the police and the CAS’s Scott. Recommended listening.
Update: Solomon Friedman is confirmed to be the Samsone’s lawyer. He is on Adler and has advised the Samsone’s to avoid the media.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for the local rag (K-W Record) to do any investigative reporting or to run opinion pieces recommending an inquiry of police and social service actions – the “local” paper is printed/editied in Toronto by – wait for it – Tor-star news corp.
They did have an opinion piece on the incident but it was praising the efforts of police and school busybodies – http://tinyurl.com/872sqz9
Don’t hold your breath waiting for CBC to report anything about this story. They’re all busy trying to find dirt on the gov’t over alleged phone calls.
A gross violation of an ordinary citizens rights, especially since he had a “gun” doesn’t rate any note.
The police characterizing this event as “unremarkable” should be a clue…keep tuned..more to come.
What is necessary is to teach children gun safety. My mother began with me at around 5 years, perhaps earlier. It is important, and these retards are interfering.
I was willing to give the ‘Chief’ some leeway til he mentioned the plastic gun was the same type that was used in a string of drugstore robberies. The social worker lost me as soon as she started in about the back story on the kids drawings. Mealy mouthed excuses all around. Everyone in ‘cover your ass mode’. Disgusting.
1215: Magna Carta
2015: You don’t have rights, only privileges bestowed by the ruling elite.
If you err, let’s err on the side of logic. The only party that could be in danger according to the story were “bad guys” and monsters.
Give the police no quarter! Warrantless weapons searches need to be just as popular with the police as being accused of “profiling”.
Sunlight alright, Thank God for Sun news.
in all likely hood, we wouldn’t even have heard about this story if it wasn’t for them.
Thank you Sun News.
What a breath of fresh air after years of cbc, ctv and stupidzuki crap.
this is bloody disgusting…..i hope the guy sues, the thing is, we the tax payers are the ones going to pay for these idiots mistakes.
this is where the left and their idiocy has take this country.
Much house cleaning is required here!
The only upside is that more people are now waking up to the fact that the police are no longer on our side and can’t be trusted. They are now just another arm of the state apparatus to be used as weapons against peaceful people going about their own business.
Yes but was the ‘crayon drawn toy gun’ registered with the relevant authorities?
Obviously, the parents failed to register their 4 year old child’s toy handgun…
All derived from a CRAYON drawing…
So if the child draws a tank, presumably that will draw out an anti-tank battery to loose a few rounds into the house.
Where is that part in the Charter about having the ‘right to a warrantles strip search with your hands behind your head without probable cause’?
Almost as good as the TSA fondlers south of the 49th…
Getting sexed up with the feds… all the intimate attention you didn’t want and more.
Idjits…

That was a chilling interview with Child and Family Services rep Allison Scott. All things are allowed as long as the child’s safety is the excuse. An air pellet gun could take your eye out! Good god.
The Chief and the head of Child Services both were ‘tongue-dancing’ around the issues like a Broadway performance of “Riverdance, The Oral Version”.
Just wondering if I should discard all my g/kids crayons as they might be used to draw a threatening picture.
After listening to the interview of Waterloo Police Chief, Matt Torigian, and Director of Family and Children Services, Alison Scott, it is clear that if nothing changes the public will never hear the whole truth of what happened to Mr. Sansone because of a drawing done in a public school by his 4 year old daughter.
Based on the interview, I am inclined to believe that Police Chief Torigian will be open and accountable with regard to the role played by his officers. I certainly hope so. That being said it is not enough. The public needs to have a full accounting from all parties involved without exception. The bureaucratic dancing by the Director of Family Services that the agency is not allowed to discuss the particulars of this case because of privacy legislation is unacceptable. Doubtless this will be the same tactic employed by the school and the Board of Education. Under the circumstances, this privacy of information dance cannot be allow to stand.
To that end it is imperative that an independent body be given the task and authority to make the necessary inquires into the events of that day. Because there were a number of public agencies (school, family services and police) all involved I would ask that the Ontario Ombudsman be tasked to inquire into the events of that day and report back to the provincial legislature with a full and complete report including an assessment of blame where appropriate and specific recommendations, if not required actions to be undertaken by each agency to prevent a similar travesty from occurring.
Every single citizen in this country should be outraged by what happened to Mr. Sansone on Friday, February 24th. This sad incident calls into question whether as citizens we have any real rights when a public agency decides for whatever reason that they are going to loose the hounds of bureaucratic hell on a citizen. Where was the balance and good judgement that we should expect from these agencies?
If I had a nickle for every time I’ve been told I was a paranoid nutcase for worrying about this kind of thing, I’d be a rich man today. I’ve been warning friends, family and strangers that this is where we’re going for TWENTY TWO YEARS, since Kim Campbell banned those dreaded “assault weapons” without any thought of compensation, and I’ve been told I was crazy the whole f-ing time.
Well here we are, my friends. Any of us can be arrested at whim of even the lowliest government official, and held for 48 hours without charge. For nothing.
And by the way, if that internet snooping bill goes through, you will not just be held accountable for what you say on the internet. You will be held accountable for everything you have -EVER- said on the internet, in private email or on a blog. Its all still out there, sitting in buffers and servers all over the world, just waiting for a cop to ask for it.
Personally I’ve got a hell of a back catalog for some feverish little PC zealot to find fault with. Some of us here have more. Not showing up to riot is looking more and more like a mistake.
Wheels, start squeaking.
I think the Police Chief is lying in his teeth,he said the drawing of the gun looked just like a gun that had been used in a series of armed holdups!
BullS**t! No four year old can draw a gun that looks like anything more than an “L”, as one caller said.
Elephant: the MSM’s constant hysteria over guns, demonizing what is a tool in the hands of most responsible people.
One caller mentioned that the whole thing should have been settled by calling a meeting in a school office with the Teacher,Father, and Principal, before cops and do-good government agencies were ever involved.Damned good idea!
Maybe the Radio guy was right, too many people watch too much American TV crime dramas, and have no sense of proportion any more.
The Father of the kid MUST take legal action,as the only thing State appointed bullies and thugs understand is the use of (legal) force against THEM. He should also launch a Charter complaint against them with the Ontario HRC. Fight fire with fire.
Maybe if they know that Canadians are not going to roll over and acquiesce to Police thuggery, they’ll think twice before reacting like the paramilitary gangsters many of them are.
We are in the beginning stages of a takeover of our Country by statist elites, whose rule will be enforced by their private armies and agencies. We have to stop them now, with every legal weapon available,or pretty soon we won’t have any recourse left.
Never seen so much dancing since Adscam. The one caller had it right. The anti-gun culture wars have crept into the policies of these institutions. That dunce Alison sure has a hate on for guns, even toy ones. I find it peculiar the school hasn’t commented, especially the teacher in question. I like the chiefs statement, that the crayon gun drawing of a 4 year old matched the type of gun involved in a string of armed robberies. LOL. This police department is an embarrassment.
Canada needs a crayon registry.
And a little sensitivity training wouldn’t hurt either.
Black crayon good.
Burnt sienna crayon good.
White crayon bad.
I wonder what would happen if someone arranged a
“draw a picture of a gun day” and asked their kids and grandkids to participate.
“2015: You don’t have rights, only privileges bestowed by the ruling elite.”
Come and take them.
The Chief and the bureaucrat danced because they’re going to get their asses sued off and they know it.
The teacher has an out as s/he was just following the law of the land (not saying the law is correct, just that s/he has an out). The school board will be probably be sued as well.
One of the comment threads at the K/R paper has a comment that Mr. Samsone has hired Solomon Friedman.
That’s a good start if true.
Edlt: Ahh, Adler just confirmed Friedman is the Samsone’s lawyer.
The police, school board and provincial governments are going to want to settle this quickly and quietly.
I hope it’s long, drawn out and the Samsone family receives A HUGE CASH PAYOUT of Maher Arar proportions. Above all, I hope it is a VERY PUBLIC process that ends the careers and causes complete financial ruin to those that so vicously violated this family’s rights.
Delighted to hear Solomon Friedman step up to the plate and defend this man.
I hope he properly clocks them, or should I say Glock’s them?
http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2011/10/17/solomon-friedman-firearms-laws-deny-law-abiding-citizens-their-rights/
I emailed the above column to the PMO sometime ago, so he should be a real ‘go to guy’.

Solomon Friedman has taken on the case of the man falsely arrested, searched and humiliated.
I guess the Police, Child Welfare worker, principal and teacher are hooped. Hope their insurance is up to date.
But but but it’s for the chiiiildreeen.
So many great comments above that it is almost impossible to add anything. Although Phantom’s comment @ 2:48 is right on the bulls-eye, (can I use that word?).
As Phantom says, this incident is the result of decades of Liberal Marxist infiltration of all areas of our governmental institutions.
The Police are Union folks with guns. They no longer have any interest in serving the community as they get their large salaries and pensions from the Government. Neither have our interests at heart anymore. Changed in the last 20 years when we were not looking
Looks like somebody’s gona make some money.
,
Every single police state nazi bastard involved in this needs time in jail to reflect on abusing citizens rights, then should have their incomes attached for an ugly amount of money and the should NEVER ever be able to have a government job again.
Breaking news: Man seen brandishing colour photo of hunting rifle. Police checked the gun registry only to find no weapons registered, which made them very suspicious.
Veteran police officers were clearly shaken up by this event and some had to seek post-traumatic incident counselling. On condition of anonymity one police officer stated in his 20 plus years of service he had never seen such a realistic photo of a weapon, “the colours were so clear and the resolution of the photo was incredibly realistic.”
The perp was pepper sprayed and taken down by the police; we can all thank God for their quick action. Another police officer on the scene remarked, “my training kicked in, all those CAS sensitivity courses clearly paid off.” Upon strip search the man was also found holding a CPC party member card. This obviously dangerous man is being held without bail. Sarc off.
“The larger the state, the smaller the citizen.”
This really isn’t a hill anyone on the Canadian right should be looking to die on. As I mentioned before, Dad is not an innocent citizen. He’s a convicted felon with a criminal record that includes assault and burglary. He was offered a job at the school in question, and his record would have popped up immediately during the mandatory police background check. It’s highly likely that every teacher and the principal at the school knew about his record, and acted on that information.
The optics are very, very bad on this one, and although IANAL I’m having trouble seeing where there’s a bona fide legal case here.
Shorter Daniel: the sanctity of a citizens rights aren’t worth fighting for.
BREAKING. Waterloo Police investigate report of firearms @ toys-r-us.
The radio show misses the point. Even if he owned a gun , legally of course. Its not against the Law to have one. Let alone base unwarranted searches, personnel abuse towards the Dad. Social service taking the kids away. Just because its a child’s drawing? Madness.
DR: “Dad is not an innocent citizen. He’s a convicted felon with a criminal record that includes assault and burglary.”
Another fact: “dad” didn’t come close to any crime this time, such as uttering a threat, or having an unregistered weapon or anything else, so by definition he is an innocent citizen.
So, DR your comment is quite idiotic.
All I can say is “What a cluster f**k!” Seems that most everyone in a position of so called responsibility dropped the football and probably kicked it when trying to pick it up.
The police chief sounds like a politician trying to make the public feel safe as the cops have the public safety at heart. All he is doing is a CYA (cover your a$$) maneuver. The matching description of a “gun” used in a robbery is pure horse hockey, especially after looking at the crayon drawing.
The Socialist worker pulled out the “if it saves one child” card right away and then scares the bejesus out of me by equating it to kids playing with matches. Think about it: as a parent, would you have not already taught an important lesson to your kids (if they haven’t learned it themselves) about fire and matches? Of course according to this socialist worker, you would also be paid a visit by Child and Family Services if your kids ever mentioned they learned the hard way about fire.
The real tragedy is now that four year old is going to feel guilty of getting her dad in trouble, her imagination is sure to be stifled as she wouldn’t want it to happen again, the nosy Nellie will forever be pointing out this episode and reminding everyone who will listen that “where there is smoke…” and lastly, if that child ever has to tell an adult about something important, she will remain mum lest it all happens again.
“Solomon Friedman is confirmed to be the Samsone’s lawyer”
Good! Daniel, Sansone’s criminal record of assault and burglary may be very minor crimes committed in who-knows -what state,(dead drunk trying to break into a car?), we don’t know, yet. But there’s no sense speculating that he should have no support from us as a convicted criminal.
He isn’t a lifetime gangster,as it hasn’t been mentioned that he is “known to Police” as the cops like to say about the criminal lowlifes in every city. Even the Police Chief didn’t make that statement, and he most surely would have if he was in fact a known criminal type.
This case should have been resolved,as the Radio caller mentioned, by a meeting in the school office with all concerned parties attending, instead of by a police arrest in full view of the school kids.
Don’t the cops ever “think of the children” and the trauma it may have caused them seeing one of their fellow student’s parent taken away in handcuffs.
The police acted like bullies and thugs and like bullies and thugs, they should be brought to account in Court,as it appears they are about to be,thankfully.
Here in the US, the Sheriff is a locally elected position, AND the Sheriff hires his own Deputies.
If the Sheriff is voted out, as he would be in this case, the Deputies lose THEIR jobs too.
This results in more SENSIBLE law enforcement and greater mutual respect between the citizens and the police.
and what about the rights of the monsters? And the boogieman, not to mention zombies (vampires are so yesterday, eh).
Hiring Solomon Friedman imo is a smart move by Mr. Samsone. There isn’t much I can add to the discussion other than to vehemently agree with The Phantom while resisting the urge to dog-pile Daniel Ream for his failure to see through ‘the optics’ as he put it.
I’m not buying their excuses, finally the public has woken up and realised civil servants no longer serve us they abuse us at will whilst hiding behind children as their reason for abusing us. Please if the child is the gifted artist that they want us to believe that the picture of the gun look like well golly gee a real gun someone contact the group of seven they’ve got a new member.
Here in Bantario we have already seen Ezra’s latest on this issue. He had Friedman on explaining the ins and outs of the law. Please make sure you catch this one on The Source.
Possession of a dangerous crayon is the theme.
I wonder if Daniel Ream is even aware of just how easy it is to be saddled with a criminal record here in Canada. Merely touching a person can get you an assault record if the touchee really wants to be nasty.
However the problem I have with the ‘better safe than sorry’ excuse is that you do more damage to innocent people than help those you are trying to aid! Running off to the social workers with such a flimsy excuse for evidence should be a crime in itself. If there is real child abuse happening there will be lots more evidence than a four year old’s crayon drawing of ‘Daddy shooting monsters’.
@ DR: Are you mixing up the TTC ticket collector story who was twice hit by a shotgun blast today? Now that would be “probable cause”…for a takedown.
A crayon drawing from a 4 year old doesn’t constitute ‘probable cause’ for a takedown.
In what way does a crayon drawing constitute a ‘substantive threat’ even if the man did have a record that contained an incident or two involving the ‘stupidity of youth’?
4 YEAR OLDS brandishing CRAYON drawings aren’t ‘probable cause’ and don’t constitute a ‘substantive threat to public safety’.
So the next time your 4 year old child/grandchild makes a crayon drawing should that warrant a SWAT/JTF2 team type of response?
I can see black helicopters making a midnight visit to your house, to seize your children…watcha gonna do when they come for you?
That would likely refresh and clean all the optics lenses you would possibly want to look through…
Actually, maybe the authorities need an air ambulance as it is clear their brains failed to engage.
Cheers

Don’t hold your breath waiting for the local rag (K-W Record) to do any investigative reporting…

And don’t hold your breath waiting for Harper’s Conservatives to change things so this kind of crap can’t happen.
Is it time to bring up the story of the guy who registered a Weller heat gun. http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=199699 Perhaps the police need to check on him and make sure he is storing his “weapon” in a vault and the solder and the flux are stored separately, also under lock and key. If I were him I would be making a video to show that I could access the gun and the ordnance in under 60 seconds. Just in case.
Keep the pressure on Ezra, Charles, Brian and group.
Do not let this die out till it is resolved.
It’s well-known that a picture is worth a thousand words. And I think The Scream is about to sell for 80 million dollars. Perhaps a crayon drawing will end up being worth n-thousand dollars. Not bad.
I have a glue gun. Should I be worried?

And that jail time should be in general population!
A lot of posters have been saying the case/incident should have been handled by the kid, parents, and teachers. My question is….when the f*&k did it become a crime to draw something with a crayon??? What? Was she using some new type of kevlar coated paper that could be adopted to carry a round??? These damn useful, leftard, socialist idiots need to be taken down, and hard!
His name is “Mohammed”.
