    We have the same program in our schools for Stephen Harper Day,too.

  8. The days where teachers were non-political are long gone. Children are mere pawns in furthering social engineering and insuring the gravy train does not derail for the profession. As long as tenure and teachers unions exist the kids will be at the mercy of a system that failed long ago. Unfortunately the students are unaware and most parents don’t care.

  14. Pretty crappy indoctrination. Between the bright lights, terrible sound and jerky image handling it looked like a giant suck fest. And the audience looked too bored and white. Joe Goebbels would be spinning.

  15. melwilde, I agree. The Al Gore/David Suzuki hysteria machine is the same type of propaganda. When eco zealots bring school kids into their ‘commitment circles,’ you have to wonder what role is left for parents.

  16. What Aviator, peterj and melwilde said. It seems that more and more people are becoming aware of what is going on, but not enough and this brainwashing is becoming more entrenched. Marco’s tip on last evening’s Reader Tips @ 12:27 is one of many examples, as is the Suzuki film mentioned in the past.
    Stalin’s boys have done an excellent job of infiltrating our educational systems.

    when I was their age, we had to listen to the same kind of propaganda from Stalin. They had to translate it for us.
    It is quite remarkable how the human beings insist on screwing up their existence.
    It all points out to a warped gene, that is increasingly being spread among the rich aristocrats.
    The theory here is that civilizations rise and fall with certain regurality. It does not really mater how long they go to school. In fact it is those in so called “social science” that get other to join in their contrived nonsense.
    It works something like this:

One man would say to another: Do you know that the Council of American Builders said that this temple is a piece of architectural tripe? in a tone suggesting intimacy with the best of the art world. The other would not want to reply that he had not heard of such a group, but would answer: I expected them to say it. Didn’t you?
    Some believe that this is the way aristocrats oprate.

  20. Re Apple commercial: Steve Jobs was a devout liberal and Obama supporter. He likely wouldn’t have had any problem with Obama-worship, it was Fox News that reportedly “scared” him. Typical.

  24. Hmm. Robert- I think the juxtaposition is fairly accurate. The video was all Obama and quite cultish. Yes he is black (well kinda) but he is no MLK.
    This also goes to the bigger issue of what twaddle our children are being fed in school. Couldn’t the teachers PLEASE return to teaching them math, english and the rest of it? Leave the world view stuff to their parents. Stop inculcating our children with your beliefs! You all get paid well. Teachers start doing your job which is to teach- not be propagandists.
    I am very tired of debriefing my children when then return from school. It cuts into the homework time.

    Because it has morphed into Liberal Black History Month.

  28. In 1979, I was in gr 6 French Immersion.
    The teachers had us pick sides during the Separatist Refrendum and have a debate in french and invited parents.
    20/20 hindsight? Why didn’t our parents say anything?

  30. Most of the adults and semi-adults present seem to be representing the degenerate recipient class of
    the big “O” stimulus packages which kept them from lining up at the unemployment offices for funds.
    I bet they would be “grateful” big time to be asked to lead the singing of praise to King Barack.
    Do any parents actually ever show up to find out what kind of nonsense their taxes are wasted on?

  31. Don’t laugh, the teachers have registered those 8 year olds as Democrats.
    They’ll get to vote at a secret polling booth in the school auditorium before the door is opened for the adults
    in November.
