Mr. Rae Visits Attawapiskat

The “enlightened” Bob Rae has pressed the flesh up north. And what did he conclude? That more dependency and continued no accountability is what the people of Attawapiskat need. What a cynical, uncaring man he is.
Two quotes of Albert Einstein come to mind:

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex… It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction.
Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.

  1. And did he take a dogsled in?? NO?? Carbon footprint a&&hole!!!Morontario really does deserve him and mcLiar.
And just who the fawk does that chief think she is?? I want your money(ROC),but I will steal it and spend it as I see fit.I’m surprised her band hasn’t lynched her yet!!

  2. Oh. And Robert..calling Rae a Mister is an insult to the rest of us who use the term proudly!

  3. What clever advice did the other Liberal invitee, ding bat Doc Bennett, have to offer up?
IMO, the Chief is running scared, they’re all playing against the Conservative government for trying to find out where the money went/is going when the people are living in such conditions in spite of it.
Charlie Angus is their MP, he had to have known this was happening, it wasn’t a natural disaster that hit,he should be called to answer a few questions as well.
They all should be ashamed of themselves for not co-operating with the government which is doing the right thing to account for the money and the welfare of the Native population on that reserve.

  4. i would love one, just one of our so called journalists to ask him what HIS party did for the reserve during their tenure and what he himself did while he was the leader in Ont! This has not happened in the last five years.
Even SunTv gave him softball questions this morning.

  5. The real issue that everyone is afraid to touch is that these remote isolated reserves want access to all the modern conveniences that the rest of Canadians enjoy but they aren’t willing to disturb their “traditional” lifestyle in order to access those services. There’s simply no way that can work. Then throw in corrupt Indian politicians or band councils and you have a guaranteed recipe for disaster. You can’t expect to have immediate access to health care and education while at the same time living somewhere that is an hour’s helicopter ride from the nearest highway.

  6. Lets see: 34m from gov. 2m for land leases 50m from Debeers for con. work. 86m each and every year. So where is the money. Some one here should be in jail.

  7. Can you imagine what that must be doing to the spirit of the people that are the sideshow attraction? Bet ya’ that the suicide and alcoholism rates do not go down from all this!!

  8. This guy Rae is in campaign mode. He’s always in campaign mode. He’s looking for ways to embarrass the Government and for ways to shut down what they have planned. All aimed, of course, at white urban people in Toronto and Montreal.
My opinion? MP Angus gave PMSH a free opening to start the process of cleaning out the Indian Industry. Serious people are starting to dig into the depths. While we can’t look forward to public floggings as much as we’d like to see them, we can expect to start seeing formerly “important” people being removed from that Ministry. And, soon enough, some financial data sure to get lots of people called racists or worse.
The Wheat Board saga will seem like a small sideshow compared to this one.

  9. Bob Rae, a truly great socialist, points his finger at the most socialized group of canadians to tell us, it’s not working. Thanks Boob.
I bet the Liberals know where the brown bags of money went to…
and everyday’s a “Rae-Day” on the rez. figure it out Boob.

  10. Visiting the primates in the garbage heap of their own making is like buying a Prius or a Chevy Dolt … you appear to care about something, but you aren’t actually doing anything of any value at all ….other than for your own ego.

  11. He’s an insult to those starving to death in third world nations. Rae won’t be able to stand beside any starving children up north, morbidly obese yes starving no.

  12. Of course Rae isn’t going to show any of the Chief’s and Band Council’s houses, and expose the huge disparity between rich and poor on native reserves. That sort of truth just doesn’t fit his leftard agenda.

  13. I heard that the Chiefess was living with the manager that has been up there for three years – so…the pipples of Canada needed a third guy to oversee the Chiefess and her guy! I stand to be corrected if I am wrong. We would all like to see the digs of the Chiefess and he man(ager).

  14. I wish it astounded me that the interim leader of a failed political party continues to get the about of press play that Rae does, but the MSM seems determined to continue applying the defibrillator to the near-dead Lieberals.

  15. Boob Rae could have actually done some good if he had spent the money he wasted on the trip up there and donated it to the Red Cross.(Assuming that the Red Cross isn’t passing the relief funds to the chief’s deep pockets.)
That whole thing up there is nothing more than a sh*t show. Millions are sent up and there is no accounting for it. The chief and her adviser (partner,eh) submit a so called financial statement that looks like a failed student project and then gets her shorts in a knot when asked to explain it all. The diamond mine employs some of the population and I’d be willing to wager they pay a decent wage, and since it is all tax free it would be a great wage. Where do those workers live? Can’t they help their brothers and sisters?
I for one am sick and tired of putting up and paying for this kind of crap.

  16. According to Bobby,on cbc today, when confronted about the money thing,he put on quite the show of outrage! Told Nancy Wilson “NO no no..PMSH has been manipulating the media” about this.HUH? The media HATE PMSH and that’s the last thing they would do,is provide ‘cover’ of any kind for him.

  17. The whole media sideshow at Attawapiskat was planned just in time to divert attention away from the Auditor Generals report on Ontario’s trainwreck finances…

  18. BTW,what is it,with the constant sniffing by Rae? Watch any interview with him,and he snorts and sniffs..MOST annoying.

  19. He is the guiding light of the Liberal party after all. How else do you get media attention if no one gives a rats a*s about a party that once ruled the nation. It doe not seem to sink in that fools such as he are the main reason the voters turfed them out.

  20. What a political scumbag . . . anything to pimp his political career.
Real scumbag, but then he was an NDP idiot for a long time so we should expect such cheap theatrics.

  21. I call on Liberal Leader Bob Rae to adopt a family from Attawapiskat, and have them live in his house until next Summer, when, hopefully, the new housing for everyone will be in place.
It’s the least the grandstanding asshole could do.

  22. Bob Rae is a progressive therefore he doesn’t believe in practical solutions. Like all progressives his schtick is to blame conservatives for his own failed theories.

  23. This is nuts! 20 minutes from my place is Hobbema. It has all the road access and convenience of any community out there, and they still have the shanties. And like Attawapiskat, they also receive more than enough money for everyone to be living on easy street in beautiful homes.
What a fricken gong show. Politically Correct garbage I tell ya.

  24. Aren’t a major whack of those racists at Indian Affairs, natives themselves who have a very personal knowledge of how reserves are run. It sure sounds that Chief Spence has a lot to hide, being as evasive as she is. The reserve needs the fine tooth comb treatment. The lady doth protest too much.

  25. Everyone here knows what Bob Rae is..what disappoints me more and more often is the news reporting side of Sunnews. They look they are turning in to CBC affiliate. The anchor says that Rae “had a short but very impactful trip”..what is that sucking sound
As someone said softball questions…why isn’t Sunnews doing their job?

  26. What I have some difficulty understanding is that as Premier of Ontario, Bob Rae should have known what was going on at this Ontario Reserve, and been responsible to raise issues like this to the national government of the day – which from 1993 to 1995 was Liberal. For some reason, the NDP Premier and the Liberal PM of the day did not solve this problem, but both those Political Parties are currently crapping all over the current Conservative PM? Why is this not being raised in the MSM?

  27. What Rae forgets is respect is something you earn, it is not an entitlement. So far there has been little shown to earn respect either from Rae or the native band.

  28. Ya gotta love the Libs and their whistling in the dark moments. Here’s interim Bob hamming it up for a typical cynical Lib photo op as the Liberal party epoch is closing in on them.
More whistling in the dark? – Maggie Jr. tossing fuddle duddles at Peter Kent invoking the era of past Librano hegemony, oblivious of the fact this out moded cynical politicing no longer works.
Will anyone mourn the passing of the Liberal political junta?

  29. Native reserves = Potemkin villages
build some buildings in the middle of nowhere
force some people to populate village but never allow them to own anything in said village, then stand around years later wondering why nobody has any ambitions other than to take as much out of this system as they can and demand ever more.
They are wards of the state because they don’t want to risk the dead end lifestyle they have now.
Mind you there is a whole industry that will do everything they can to discourage any inhabitant of these Potemkin villages from striking out on their own.

  30. Why don’t media show pictures of the houses the three Chiefs or 19 Band Councilors live in? I doubt if they’re living in 3rd world squalor.
Objective news reporting is scarce. Levant says it like it is but too many people are not listening. Their minds are made up, they know how they feel about the issues and will be confused by facts they don’t agree with.

  31. Flying a modern large passenger plane is like playing a video game where you die if you make a mistake.

  32. If he hadn’t gone into politics, Rae would be one of those lawyers who chases ambulances.

  33. I guess the Self Government “Thingy” without taxation or a moral investment is DEAD.. Why spend any welfare (all Indian Money is a form of welfare) on reserves without absolute control & responsibility. The Chief is just a tool!
Time to abolish the Indian Act and treat everyone equal…

  34. Good old Bob Rae the guy who laid the ground work for McGuintys destruction of Ontario, now he is gonna tell the world what PMSH is doing wrong and how to fix it? This fool couldn t fix a one horse race,if you look up incompetence in the dictionary you will see his picture right next to the word.

  35. I think it’s pretty clear the media isn’t doing their jobs of asking for details about where the money went.
If they spent as much time asking the Chief about funding issues, as they spent on worrying about Tony clement and the gazeboo…..we may start to get some answers.
Here’s a softball question they could ask the Chief the next time she makes an appearance with another handout request.
“Chief, may I ask where you get your hair done?”
    Why that question? Simple.
Take a look at the distinctly Non-Aboriginal hair colour of our fashionable chief. How much do you think it costs to cut and dye your hair like that, and then add the highlights?
I’ve known a few women who do that with their hair, and it costs about $120 bucks a pop.
Not a big deal, but surely it’s an indication of where her priorities rest.
    Me…Me…Me…..me da chief….me me me…….sacred hair colouring,etc..etc…etc…
