Chopped Liver Of The Right

Indeed.

Conservative Bloggers, despite their massive success at wrecking up the leftist narrative, are the chopped liver, ugly unwanted stepchildren, of the American right. What else could explain the stunning lack of support for the dextrosphere by the very people who directly benefit from the largely thankless work that Conservative Bloggers do every single day?

  1. Yep. Because what kind of politician is going to hang around with people so “unserious” that they tell the truth all the time?
But its all good. Bloggers don’t blog for brownie points from politicians. Personally, I blog because I can.

  2. I just read the piece. It’s somewhat disjointed but I do agree that the official “right” (Republicans in America, Conservative Party in Canada) absolutely take conservatives for granted.

  3. “It is not necessary to hope in order to act, nor to succeed in order to persevere” – William of Orange

  4. The nature of conservatives seems to be more direct. More capitalistic.
If I get this for free, great! If you charge me for it…I can live without it.
Probably is, this attitude too often cedes public debate to the left. They just take up the space that’s not being used. (ie. Before Sunnews)
Also, conservatives are more skeptical. “Giving” money to someone for nothing is dangerous. Just because I read a blog everyday doesn’t mean I want to hand $50.00 to the blogger to go grab a pizza with anymore than I would randomly give $50.00 to a guy doing my plumbing.
The difference is the guy doing my plumbing gets paid for the service.
If smalldeadanimals started charging a monthly fee of $5.00 or so I’d pay.
Maybe 200 people paying $5.00 a month is actually better than 2000 people paying nothing.

  5. Upon RTFA, it occurs to me that its hilarious that these American blogger guys think there’s going to be any money in -shrinking- government and -fighting- corruption.

  6. I find it somewhat amusing that “conservative” bloggers may actually believe politicians on the right are any less deceitful, dishonest, self-serving and willing to lie, cheat and steal their way into power than politicians on the left.

  7. Much like The Phantom, I blog and comment first and foremost because I can…beyond that any effect I can have in fighting the narrative drones and usefull pown’s is purely bonus…
    I consider it a Civic hobby…

  8. I find it somewhat amusing that “conservative” bloggers may actually believe politicians on the right are any less deceitful, dishonest, self-serving and willing to lie, cheat and steal their way into power than politicians on the left.
I fund it amusing that chuckleheads on the Left don’t understand that Conservative voters hold their politicians to a higher moral standard than Progressives do.
Actually it isn’t so amusing when, on retrospect, I remember Progressives don’t have any tangible morals to hold their politicians to.

  9. oh well, it is only matter of time when bloggers turn against the politicians. You see the parties where created and structured long before the Net, they don’t have place for “some voices” .

  10. I just put a 1/2 hour of labour to let my 98 Year old Grandmother see my XMas lights.
I had to carry her up and down the steps.
    She weighs 180 Lbs.
What have you honestly done for Christmas libtards ………………………………………..

  13. We also blog because we can. Exercising our freedoms of speech and of the press is the right thing to do. If you don’t exercise your rights, well-meaning but wrongheaded people, and some other people who are not well-meaning at all, will make inroads on those rights.
Our conservative, counterjihad blog is US-based, so we are not under threat from Section 13 and the CHRC. Nonetheless, we see it as our duty to campaign against such restrictions, and for freedom of speech and the press for the counterjihad.

So does that mean those who don’t can just go f*** themselves?

  16. Oz: You seem to believe that because I don’t fawn over “conservative” viewpoints my political views are somehow “left”. You are quite mistaken.
Anyone who voluntarily commits to an action, then whines “look what I’m doing for you! You owe me now!” deserves exactly what they get. If the “conservative” bloggers want to be paid for what they do, then they need to create a BUSINESS model where that happens, rather than wring their hands, plead poverty, and demand that those with money share it with them.

You seem to think that you made or even implied this economic argument at December 17, 2011 9:38 PM.
    You are quite mistaken.
Rather you chortled your “amusement” at your erroneous perception of the esteem conservative bloggers hold for the politicians they need to represent conservative issues.
If you aren’t a conservative(which your contempt clearly displays) and you aren’t a Leftist them you probably consider yourself a Libertarian.
Libertarians are little more than Leftist enablers, the difference is immaterial.
I despise Libertarians as much as I despise Leftists.
The only difference between the 2 are fiscal policy and their attitude toward the size of government.
It would be a mistake to view Libertarians to be as much a danger to society as the Leftists they enable, though they are a threat.
They simply aren’t that much of a political force because of their selfishness, shortsightedness, and insignificant numbers.
