  1. I love Ezra (in a manly kind of way). Sun news is p*ssing off a lot of people which means they are doing everything right.

  2. We needed Sun News forty five years ago to counter the Trudeau worshipping media. Better now than never.

  3. Excellent commentary Mr. Levant! And the interview with Senator Brazeau is informative as well.
I could not agree with Ezra more; he pinpoints the problem, the same problem that is the problem in all of Canada: Lack of Property Rights.
Canadians were once guaranteed the right to own property via the British North America Act of 1867. Turdo stole this right by crafting the communist manifesto of Canada (the Charter of Rights and Freedoms almost copied word for word from the Manifesto of Rights that Lenin presented to the Russian people in 1917 – both meaningless ‘scraps of paper’ a guarantee of eternal servitude to a state that owns everything including the subjects living in the state. Is there a better example of the effectivness of the Russian template than that of the Indian Reserves?)
Canada was rolling along the red track to Communism with the Liberanos/Dippers/Blocistas driving the hearse; then along came the Reform Party, Presto Manning and Stephen Harper. Things changed fast – now we have a Freedom loving Prime Minister and a majority government with the Freedom fighters driving the train – we have this window to demand Property Rights – we must demand the rights that we lost when Turdo blew up our country. The Right to own Property, the Right to Bear Arms, the Right to Freedom of Speech, the Right to Freedom of Assembly, the Right to Pray to our God.
We have this one chance to reclaim our Free country for the next generation, Property rights is the key in my opinion. The Indian Reservations are a template for what happens to people when they are controlled by a bigshot chief who has ALL the economic clout centered on him/herself. The people must depend on one bigshot for the Right to live! This is the ideal template for absolute corruption – as we see at the Charli Angus reserve. This is the Turdo template for Canada. Helpless people are very easy to control.
All of us will be better off when we are independent citizens in total charge of our own property, our own health, our own destiny. It will render all future guments to the servitude of the citizens of Canada. All the people of every race and creed should be considered politically equal; the economic/social equality is up to each individual as they plow through live. The BNA Act was the template for prosperity and Liberty. For the latter reason Turdo and his elitist pinko punks hated the BNA Act; the ilk of Turdo hate people.
People should never allow themselves to be treated like pets. The coverage of that raid at Charlie’s reserve reminded me of a PETA bust on puppy mills. This must stop now; it is demeaning to all Canadians.
Bravo Ezra – you speak the language of the strong and the free.

  4. Wow. Grown-up talk! Is this even legal on Canadian TV?
Ezra should come over to Caledonia and get himself arrested a couple times on the DCE. Shorter drive than James Bay.

  5. This is a joke, right? Tell me Ezra is not really Canadian. He’s not polite enough to qualify, even. What is he, a New Jersey native masquerading as a Canuck, eh?
Joking aside, wish we had Sun News in California. There’s got to be an unmet market there/

  6. Native leaders all across Canada need to wake up to the fact that the Canadian taxpayers who foot the bill are growing increasingly dissatisfied with the greed, corruption, nepotism, and human rights abuses by leaders towards their own people.
The disparity between rich and poor is deplorable on most reserves, and it’s time this issue was exposed to the light of day.
There is nothing racist about greed, corruption, nepotism, and human rights abuses. When these are found in any government at any level then they must be reconciled openly and transparently to the Canadian taxpayers.
Ezra’s doing a great job, but it’s just a start, and it’s not enough. Too bad that the mainstream media no longer understands the concept of journalistic integrity.

  7. Charlie Angus almost sounds like Charlie Rangle except for the fact that he is not feathering his own nest at the same time he is grandstanding… I think.

  8. Texas Canuck
A Dipper is a Dipper, no matter where they reside. You can bet hes got a hand in the cookie jar.
Thank God for the clarity of men Like Ezra. That see threw the BS of these paternalistic would be no nothings. Corruption is corruption . No matter what the ethnic group. Grown up people ought to recognize that.
Than attack it at its source. If there is a chance to actually free individuals from this sort of bondage. From their own folks no less.
Theft has no race, nor greed.
Unless your from Toronto, Vancouver, Detroit or Chicago, no one else put up with this for to long.
I’ve seen Mayors kicked out faster than Superman for scams like this.

  9. Wow! Ezra hits one out of the park.Somewhat related,is a must watch interview on Canada AM with woman from Attiwapiskat about the long term sexual abuse/incest on-reserve.She told bev Thompson, the ‘grandstanding’ by chief over 3rd party management made her come forward.Kudos to Dannielle Hamamjiian(sp) for bringing this story forward,as it also highlights the corruption in band office.

  10. RE Sammy: Yes, the non-politico regular Indian generally welcomes stability and good fiscal management of resources, hence the openness to third party management. The main problem here is the Indian sub-government. Corrupt AND inept.

  11. When these issues are discussed I notice there is usually a common theme. Government is always to blame whether it is the federal, provincial, or local chief and council involved. Leadership is always an easy target but when does individual responsibility for one’s own choices in life come into play. Yes I know that the levels of governance don’t want individual responsibilty but isn’t that what it will have to come down to eventually.

  12. Levant covers individual responsibility in his piece, nold.
You’re correct; the conditions in Att* are a combination of irresponsibility and waste on a widespread scale. But the main source of the problem is the Band. See 2:50 mark.
How the hell could they not take care of ~2000 people on $34 MILLION per year of revenue?

  13. Ezra is worth the price of admission—day in and day out. It’s great to see his legal mind and razor sharp logic on display for ALL of Canada to see, not just his private clients. He, like the estimable Jason Kenney, IS making a difference, by bluntly speaking the truth for a change. Canadians are more than ready to hear it.
Thanks, Jema 54, for your comments. I think we’re on a roll here: the truth will set Canada free. It only takes one to say, “The emperor has no clothes”, in order for the rest to join in the chorus. That’s what SUN News and the Conservatives are doing for this “deranged dominion” (Mark Steyn). (Ezra’s analysis of Attawapiskat would fit our public school systems to a T: “the soft bigotry of low expectations”. The very children who desperately need structure, boundaries, and worthy goals—they actually want and respond well to these—are sold out by the progressive idiots who let them off the hook to wallow in their own, self-defeating behaviour. It’s sickening.)

  14. Re: Liberal racism: I think a better tag for it is liberal bigotry. I don’t think Libs openly have racial intolerance but they do have intolerance for some classes of people and for segments of society which differ in thinking from themselves – therefore Libs have a bogus class arrogance that has them look down on conservatives, rural people, Christian people, Religious people in general, traditionalists, logical/critical thinkers, and any other ideology deemed by them not to be “progressive” – basically anyone not in the Urban-Lib metro-centric sphere.
This is the irony of dogmatic lib-left progressives – most of the time they act because they do so for the “collective good” however they hold a majority of that “collective” in contempt. Similarly, their progressivism often creates theories and ideas which are a vast departure from reason and logic and yet they forge ahead with these bad ideas literally creating a “regressive” movement of society.
Being Liberal means never acknowledging or taking responsibility for your own faults/mistakes/biases.

  15. who’s better than Ezra?
    noooo-body!

cancelled Rogers TV last month when they booted SunNews up the dial from CH15 to digital 142 or something like that.
    nothing else worth watching.
    thanks for the clips SDA!
maybe i’ll hook up that old TV tower beside the house…

  16. Ezra is now going after Soozooki. Awesome. Watch for that cockroach to start slithering around. Sacred cows make the best burgers.

  17. In Alberta, Treaties and the execution of those Treaties are the responsibility of the Crown, which means the Alberta government.
I’m surprised that the Ontario government doesn’t have the same responsibility.

  18. Ezra’s spot on, as usual.I’d love to be the proverbial “fly on the wall” in that meeting with Harper and the Chiefs scheduled for January.
Harper should recruit Clarence Louis and a few of the other modern Chiefs to sit on HIS side of the table,to keep this from becoming a media circus aimed at destroying Harper and placing all the blame on him.
I hope this isn’t going to be another exercise in futility, but with the MSM locked onto the Chiefs side and crying “racism’ at every turn, it probably will be
Corruption on the Rez’s is only going to end with the abolition of the Indian Act,and most of the Chiefs seem very comfortable with the way things are.
We don’t have SUN-TV on Shaw here, seems to have been discontinued after six months, and no notification they were discontinuing it. It appears from their website that it’s not even available in one of their “packages” that contain one channel you want and ten you don’t want but still have to pay for.
    Thankfully,there’s still the ‘net.

  19. Indians on reserves are little more than federal chattel. These federally funded ghettos, even if governed responsibly are at best, entitlement-addicted communes run by benevolent dictators. The “best” examples have governance involved directly in commerce.
These folks’ ancestors were defeated by or willingly surrendered to a conquering civilization over a century ago and are still penned up like cattle because instead of assimilation, they were deceived that they could carry on in traditional stone-age life-style and technological mode while contained within an advanced resource developing nation. Most are now entrenched within a permanent grievance and litigation industry including thousands of white pimps up to and including the SCOC.
Ezra’s rant, while accurate, does little to advance a solution. The first step would be to abandon the notion of the collective in favour of the individual. Jema mentioned property rights lacking in this picture. Deed over IR land and or some traditional territory on Crown land to individuals not Bands. If individuals / families want to sell-off or carry on cultural traditions involving their individual property, that should be their choice not the bands. Get the federal government out of the Indian Industry. Each province has governing legislation ensuring accountability of local government and parallel social programmes. No need to reinvent the wheel.

  20. We don’t have SUN-TV on Shaw here, seems to have been discontinued after six months, and no notification they were discontinuing it.

You might want to double check Sun TV availability. I’m on Shaw, and am still receiving Sun TV on channel 177.
Ezra’s been added onto my evening viewing, right after O’Reilly and Hannity. Love him (in a manly way).

  21. Oz;
“In Alberta, Treaties and the execution of those Treaties are the responsibility of the Crown, which means the Alberta government.
I’m surprised that the Ontario government doesn’t have the same responsibility.”
Treaties are 100% federal according to the constitution. Alberta has chosen to set up some Metis colonies which are somewhat like reserves but less dependant.

  22. By the arrangements of the Canadian federation, Canada’s monarchy operates in Alberta as the core of the province’s Westminster-style parliamentary democracy.[1] As such, the Crown within Alberta’s jurisdiction is referred to as the Crown in Right of Alberta,[2] Her Majesty in Right of Alberta,[3] or The Queen in Right of Alberta.[4] The Constitution Act, 1867, however, leaves many royal duties in Alberta specifically assigned to the sovereign’s viceroy, the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta,[1] whose direct participation in governance is limited by the conventional stipulations of constitutional monarchy.[5]

    Here is another one:

  23. I met a Chief from ‘wapiskat
His belly full, his wallet fat,
He whined, “My res is full of rats,
But send more cash – don’t want no cats.”

  24. I posted about this last night,and added;
” The reason that many reserves have housing problems is because ‘housing’ is considered a gov’t responsibility, and many bands will allow their members to live in open sewers before they will spend a dime of their own money.
Unfortunately, those in the sewer believe that this is correct.”
When the band’s books are finally scrutinized,do not be surprised to find them awash in bucks.
Don’t be surprised that this will not make a difference at all.

  25. Only problem with Ezra’s commentary is that all it takes is a little Google time to find that Angus has been pounding on the drum for Attawapiskat for years.
Then if you go to the band’s website, you find their actual financials. Then you can see they have been audited, and because they were in co-management, the governments, Liberal and now Conservatives have bungled the effort.
Never voted NDP in my life, but rhetoric is the problem here as much as anything else.
How is it that when the Conservatives pour billions into Afghanistan and over 100 of our amazing troops are killed it is alright even though the Afghan government is corrupt that is alright, but the problem in Attawapiskat is somehow not?

  26. Oh, and the Zamboni, was bought by the people of the community who raised the money themselves, through bingos and other fundraising.
When Ezra runs off at the mouth like this it is great show business. It isn’t factual enough though.

  27. Is that right James? Source please
And if so, it will be a good test of character if Ezra admits he was wrong.

  28. James is quite likely a lying POS. I checked the Hansard site for the first parliament session of this year, and the first one of 2007. No mention of Attawaskapit in either.
I could be wrong, but I don’t have the inclination to check each session for the last 7 years, maybe James can reappear and back up his claims.

  29. I posted the information, and the posts are being held in moderation for a moderator to approve them. That likely makes sense as links could be to off topic subjects.
As a person who has never voted either Liberal or NDP and doesn’t support any form of Elizabeth May’s whine of the week, what I am saying is it is important to get it right.
The Conservatives need to start figuring on how they can do a better communications job on Attawapiskat.

  30. Guess the information isn’t being allowed for you to see, too bad. All I can suggest is that instead of letting ANY media outlet tell you what to think that you look past spinning to either the right or the left. Follow the truth and you will find the path.

  31. Sure Bud. Did you try posting the information without links to “off topic subjects”?
Never mind, you’ve posted twice that you have never voted NDP,that’s enough informatiom.

  32. Remind me again why we owe this obscure tribe $74K per family a year to go with $94K per year tax free salaries, and free housing?
They do live freely on their ancestral land with all the hunting freedoms of their ancestors, without the restrictions, regulations or tax’s that I am forced to pay.
Indeed they also freely share in the benefits and societal institutions that our ancestors created and left as inheritance for their descendants. Seems a little one sided and unjust really, does it not?
