Why is it every time I hear the words “human rights” I feel I’m losing, about to lose,or be made to feel guilty about something?
That museum is going be great. All the Manitobans I know can’t wait to not go there.

Joesph are you kidding, they would have to include countries and people that committed violence if they had success exhibits. Could you imagine tributes to Canada/USA/Soviet Union armies for the heavy lifting they did in the WW1 and 2.
I am in general agreement with the above posters.
The element, that I regard as the losers of the COLD WAR, have beside mounting the CO2 AGW bandwagon, have refined the “guilt trip” tactic to the point that they have more or less gained political control of Western Thought.
Here in Canada, regarded as a bastion of the Social Democrats, they are in retreat…having prematurely attempted their coup d’etat, with only token guerilla bands in institutions such as this “museum”, the CBC and the snivel service.
When I say prematurely, I refer to their constant declarations by this element that they represent majority opinion, when they do not, it’s just propaganda. Their problem is over-reach because they have fallen for their own hype.
Their “long march through the institutions” was a powerful tactic. It reflects the standard tactic of revolutionaries during a coup….attack the military in their barracks, police stations, the political executive, and most important seize the transmitters of the electronic media….
In general such a tactic is successful IF the rebels have the backing/support of the general populous…..but disasterous if they proceed without such backing/support.
The tone of this “museum” represents over-reach IMO. Playing one ethnic group off against all others is a formulla for FAIL. This enterprise is probably doomed to defunding….the “social democrats” no longer hold the political power here in Canada.

The people in charge of the museum are clearly fascists. The 12 million Ukrainians killed by the Soviets deserve no sympathy because they are Nazi sympathizers. I have never heard such unsympathetic brutal racism in Canada. Yes the project has Asper hands all over it.

I am a Christian, I am a conservative. I do not doubt the liberal bias that Black Rod refers to in the CMHR. Nevertheless, anti-semitism did run deep in Europe for centuries. And yes, you could say it was a product of fear and loathing by Christians (all Europe was “christian”). However, that fear, loathing and persecution over the centuries does not represent genuine Christian faith.

Now isn’t that sweet! I guess that’s a cue that Christians should start blaming Jews again for murdering God (i.e. Jesus)! Oops, isn’t that what Hitler tried to do? Well, I’m glad that Hitler failed, because it was in fact the Christian West that sent millions of their soldiers to face death and sacrifice their lives to rescue Europe from the Nazis, Hitler, and to liberate Jews from the death camps. That’s what this museum should reflect about the role of Christianity and the Holocaust — as liberators. Hitler was in fact not a Christian — he attempted to dupe Christians but ultimately failed. He deliberately attempted to perverted Christianity for political purposes, graphically symbolized by the Nazi Swastika which is a twisted perverted version of the Christian cross.
The Communists tried a similar deceptive technique to dupe Christians using Marxist “Liberation Theology”, but once it became obvious that it was a perverse violent heresy, it was denounced and rejected by the Church everywhere.

I tend to agree with Ken(Kulak), you should be giving lectures in the H of C. and on T.V. You too, Ken (Kulak) I have read many books about people caught in the horrors of WWII but the worst horror was Poland because the Soviets and the Nazis invaded simultaniously, Soviets from the East, Nazis from the west. Stalin and Hitler started out as pals with the same goal at the onset of WWII. The Soviets murdered Polish officers and all inflential people in the Katlan Woods, tried to blame the Nazis for that mass murder after the war (idiots in the free world who knew better – I read about this mass murder in 1974, there was a book out -to ‘please ‘ Unca Joe’ – when the Polish PM and his ministers and some ‘survivors’ of that Mass murder went back to the same place in 2009 to meet the evil Putin and thugs to get an apology…the plane crashed and killed everyone on board( inconvenient gunshots were heard after the crash, this time the Soviets made sure that there were no survivors. The more things change, the more they stay the same unless people point out the truth over and over again.
