There are few sights more dismal than that of a law-abiding citizen having his genitalia pawed by state commissars, but having them pawed while wearing a “Don’t Tread on Me” T-shirt is certainly one of them.

All the clips I have been watching that show American in fierce battle over two dollar trinkets in a big box stores all over the country make me care a lot less about whether America is saved or not. Stupid is what stupid does.
May the West will not survive. Maybe the white races will be exterminated,
Can you imagine what kind of world will remain when there is not western culture left or pay for everything?
I really think we should paw back!
In a completely unrelated matter. American airlines files for bankruptcy this morning.
Abe – There is certainly a subculture that does that, and they dismay us as well! And it’s not just our problem; you should see the Canadian shoppers who come down here from British Columbia and go to Costco. I can’t blame them, what with your dollar being that much stronger than ours. However, I try to avoid Costco most days and plan my shopping carefully to avoid the crushing crowds … it’s just ugly out there in retail land!
Of course the videos you see are sensational, and so the media air them.
The internet solves so many problems.
Maybe we need to go all child-psych on ’em:
How about a t-shirt that says “TSA – PLEASE fondle my nads!”
“If I’ve sounded a wee bit overwrought in recent columns,…”
No kidding? Really? I’m kinda worried that all of the songs on Steyn’s new Christmas CD have an embedded subliminal message saying “Head for the Hills – we’re all going to die”.
Read an interesting post on mind body politic.com this morning. The author was speculating on the assets of the Rothschilds family. Based on their know assets in the early 1800s compounded at 8% annual growth they could easily be worth hundreds of thousands of trillions today…perhaps the US Fed’s “Liquidity injections” are real after all (and they are rumored to be one its owners). Just for the record that is more than enough cash to retire every debt in the world around a hundred times. If the speculation is even one-tenth true, Buffet and Gates combined aren’t worth one-millonth of the Rothchilds trusts and family members. Maybe they have a plan? (for everywhere BUT New Hampshire)
Once again we’re light years ahead of the Yanks. Most Canadians don’t have to worry about having their testicles tickled – because they surrendered them a long time ago.
Canada or USA. Nanny rules. Not as bad as Britain yet but catching up fast. No wonder all the Arab countries along with China and Russia are starting to rattle their sabres again. They see the pride parades and know there is no pride left in the country. Weenies, whiners and wingnuts dominate political agendas. Obesity, trace amounts of carbon dioxide, second hand smoke, banned pointy lawn darts and mandatory helmets for riding bicycles are just a few hints that we have been pussyfied and are ripe for the picking. Now that technology will defend us, nanny will look after our individual decisions. She knows what is best for us.
Steyn along with Kate has a way with words that cuts to the bone.
A walking human Juxtaposition of paradox. Being mugged by the Government while pretending to be a free man. You can’t invent moments like that.
peterj @ 5:42, technology did not help Rome.
Nanny is busy emasculating us.

True. Rome suffered from some of the same problems we face. Rot from within, a sense of omnipotence, a invincible army that was beaten by barbarians and a tax policy that turned allies into enemies. History is such a great teacher, there just aren’t enough students outside of the military to take the course. Seems to me that a commander in chief should be one of them. Obama is incapable of running a hot dog stand and has surrounded himself with like minded thinkers. Does not bode well for the future.
Revnant Dream – Indeed! Keen observance coupled with exceptional articulation of the profound.
Steyn has yet to bore me. Admire his gift and originality – he keeps it fresh – his sentences say more than most writers entire columns.
The IQ of the world would go up.
