  1. …And one of those OWS zombie types actually fired an AK-47 at the White House and it was quickly discarted by the MSM…Imagine if it had been a white TEA partier…Anyway, that has become so normal now as to be boring just to bring it up…Sorry don’t want to bore anyone.
Could Newt be the next POTUS?…So far his words dictates he should be but I’m still worried Washington is beyond repairable and that Gingrich will just be swallowed up by the ultra corrupt machine. Newt has been in the establishment for a long time so he surely knows what’s wrong.

  2. I know I’m in the minority, but I think social conservatism is the Achilles’ heel of the Republicans.
It scares people, and is difficult to defend to fiscally conservative independents.
I’m fully with Mitch Daniels: call a truce on this stuff. We have to get the economy fixed, and I don’t care if the person who does it carries a bible or not.

  3. Could truer, more honest words ever be spoken. Watch for the lefties and their toadying mainstream media to go into total meltdown over this.

  4. One thing I find hilarious is who originated this clip – People For The American Way, a far left organization started by the producer of All In The Family.
They believe that most viewers will recoil in shock at Newt, when the reality is that most will watch it and say “Right On!”.

  5. Heh! Don’t know if anybody else noticed, but this video was published by an offshoot of People For The American Way, a “progressive”, i.e. leftist organization. Presumably this was to inform their hangers-on about what a nasty, scary, right-winger ol’ Newt is.
And here, most of us are probably saying, “right on, Newt! Tell it like it is.”
If that’s the worst they can say about him, he can’t be much of a right-winger, can he?

  6. LOL, Johnny.
I must have been checking my references and composing my comment while yours was going into the queue, because I hadn’t seen it when I first read the thread. If I had seen your comment, I’d have surely worded mine differently.
Cue the trolls, with their “right-wing echo chamber bleats”, stage left.

  7. Now Newt, why don’t you say what you really think!!
Another leftist propaganda gone horribly wrong! LOL

  8. “I know I’m in the minority, but I think social conservatism is the Achilles’ heel of the Republicans.”
    Define “social conservatism”

  9. Jason M writes, “. . . I think social conservatism is the Achilles’ heel of the Republicans.
“It scares people, and is difficult to defend to fiscally conservative independents.” Well, boo hoo . . .
I’ve got all kinds of wealthy, fiscally conservative relatives. Their lives are “gated”: exclusive neighbourhoods and clubs, multiple, up-to-date, luxury vehicles, private schools, out-of-town luxury homes and vacations, etc.. (I don’t envy their fine lifestyles. Good for them!)
However, with their tax lawyers, and living well above and protected from the appalling moral and social decay caused by the progressives’ “anything goes” agenda, it’s easy as pie for them to be utter hypocrites, which they are. If the decrepit results of the “anything goes” ethos actually, seriously impacted on their cosseted lives—which, sooner or later it will—they’ll be shocked, yes, shocked, at the horrible reality.
I love these relatives: we share long and honourable histories and loved ones. However, in general, these Rolls Royce high rollers are total ignoramuses about the political and social realities of this world. E.g., One, a big-time capitalist, who lives in the lap of luxury, with all I’ve mentioned above, is both a Liberal (in Canada) and Obama supporter. DUH! This person is not only deficient in the fact department, she doesn’t want to know the facts. Indeed, she’s offended by them.
So, fie on fiscally conservative “independents”, who are afraid of social conservatism, the bedrock on which their cushy lives exist. What they should be afraid of—VERY afraid of—are the social anarchists on the left, whom they seem quite willing to embrace: “Sheep, meet Wolf!”
I’d love to engage my misinformed, hypocritical family members on this subject, if I thought it would do any good. It wouldn’t. Facts mean nothing to them. Any substantive challenge would just cause serious family strife. And, yes, Jason M, I’d be the one accused of being a radical troublemaker. What else is new?
So, my message to deluded, independent, fiscally conservative types, who are afraid—poor babies—of social conservatism: take an honest, long look at the shipwreck of the anti-social, anti-conservative policies of the left. Then wake up and smarten up!

  10. Well said Newt and the smile of agreement by Herman Cain showed agreement.
Newt for President and Cain for Vice.
lookout, exactly. Much of society is collapsing because of social engineering experiments and social conservatives are the dangerous ones? Sure.

  11. I encourage everyone to watch the whole debate. It gives you perhaps the only chance to see the candidates in a convivial and relaxed setting. You will also learn a lot about them. Perry is a warm and funny guy. Bachmann came from a split home. Ryan is not so crazy. Santorum has a human side to him. Cain is prone to tears. Newt is not all bluster. Take the time. It is worth it.

  12. I’m a big believer in pulling the scab off when talking about issues. Gingrich is a master at it.

    I’ve seen that clip before.
I could listen to Milton Friedman all day long!
He’s diplomatic, gracious and divinely logical.

  14. Why should anyone care what Gingrich has to say about anything? He is a depraved, immoral coward. Cheating on and divorcing not one, but two wives when they were gravely ill shows his true nature.

  15. First, get a job? What job? You’re talking to a generation that was raised on the idea that our countries are so rich, you can get a degree in whatever your heart desires and you’ll make more money than trade / factory workers.
Second, this isn’t about whether they have jobs, it’s about how America has become a corporate welfare state. Hell, it’s already making its way up here with Harper pandering to Hollywood in his latest copyright bill.
