Conquest without firing a shot:
Lost on these incredibly dangerous folks is the fact that they are simply trying to accomplish what every other European imperial power attempted in the past … only this time they are attempting to do the deed without war.

The desire to dominate others, to bend them to the leftists’ will, lies at the heart of liberalism. The humility of the post war German leadership is long past; the EU, ever since Maastricht, has been used by the German/French to dominate all other European countries. This is just another step along that road.
What a moron.
Hear, hear. Nigel tells it like it is.
Gruppenführer Van Rompuy is right. Eurocrats control the EU Parliament, not the elected representatives.
Europe has always wanted to restore the glory of the old Roman empire. From Charles the Great to Napoleon.
By war or Conquest. Seems to me they will get their wish, only it will be a Muslim Caliphate.
Farage is what I’d call an orator – a far cry from TOTUS.
Always enjoy Farage’s “tell it like it is” rants. Unfortunately, it’s obvious the others only tolerate him,his words never penetrate their thick socialist skulls.
The EU can and probably WILL,go to hell, and if it comes to actual war, this time don’t call us, we’ll call you ,if we feel like it.
China conquering America in the aisles of MalWart has been way more effective. That’s what the experience of 5000 years of civilization can do.
Certainly seems like getting into europe is some kind of irrevocable marriage contract, I’m sure the Old dynasts of Europe are jealous.
Once you are contracted, you can’t leave, you can’t talk about leaving, and the terms of the contract are one way and inexorable, and subject to change.
Panzers were way cooler than those guys

You know, it always seemed to me that there was something wrong about one country taking over another by force, and that what was wrong was.. the force. One country taking over another because it’s on the ball and the other country is a basket case sounds like something less than a problem to me. Am I missing something? If Germany takes over Europe, wouldn’t Europe come out the better for it?
Will America be better off when the Chinese take over the country economically while leaving the dysfunctional US political system by the wayside?
Oh, yeah.. it was the nasty Germans who forced the Greeks to adopt 4 day work weeks in a 44 work week year. It was those awful Germans who goose-stepped the Italians into electing a playboy, and fudging all their official numbers to hide their massive budget deficits. And of course, it was the duplicitous French who frog-marched their Iberian neighbours into near, and probably imminent, bankruptcy.
Geez, for a bunch of people who are supposedly all about taking personal responsibility, why are you blaming the Germans and the French for the complete lack of fiscal discipline displayed by the PIIGS?
My question is, why would Germany -want- to run Europe? Germany is the only one out of the lot that gets up in the morning and goes to work.
Bunch of foot draggers should be left to their own devices. After they pay their tab, of course.
Germany and wealthier Eurzone nations want to run Europe because the Euro is devalued by about 40% compared to where it should be if it were tied to the German economy. This single fact alone makes Germany the number 2 export powerhouse on the planet. But … Germany cheats to get that status by tying its economy to all those little rat holes like Greece. It allows the Germans to run a vast welfare state, while paying for it with grossly under priced exports. Nobody except the Chinese can compete with the Germans … but both get their status by manipulating currency.
The Greeks and other little states got massive amounts of German and French bribery cash to run their little socialist schemes … and Germany and France got to export to the world via an undervalued currency and thereby keep their welfare states alive.
If Germany can’t extend herself into the affairs of the little states, to co-opt them, then Germany and France are done like dinner because in Germany’s case its exports will increase in value by about 40% if the Eurozone fails (CNBC) … and that, will be the end of the great German welfare state.
The entire structure is dirty … has run out of money … and Germany’s Imperialistic moves are now a matter of survival. They are all joined at the hip … Germany needs the little rats to keep the Euro low … the little rats need Germany to stay solvent.
The Big lie is that Germany somehow gets it’s number 2 exporter status because of efficiency … when in fact it’s because the Euro is grossly undervalued in terms of the German economy.
You need to only look at the ethnic cleansing of the Serbian people in Kosovo to understand what the EU and by extension NATO represents today.
Long forgotten is another American Democrat Presidents leadership in a “peaceful” (sarc) and personally profitable war. Kosovo is now the European mafia gateway and drug capital of Europe. It has nearly completely cleansed itself of the indigenous Serbs, replaced by the Islamic dominated Albanians.
To understand better the historic plight of the Serbs, study their history and the western censored incomprehensible atrocities committed on them by the Croatian pseudo Nazi collaborators called the Ustaše. The Ustaše war criminals were secretly evacuated to all parts of the world after WW2 many landing and living in Canada.
To understand the goals of the UN, EU and NATO, you need to understand what has happened in Kosovo and where it is today.

Thats a true and fair point, but I’d add that reading history and particularly of that wider region of the Balkans and the whole Black Sea area including Russia might give a much greater understanding of current situation regarding a whole host of things.
But hey what would a couple pieces oilfield trash know about anything eh.
Quite right, Kevin. All of those nations made politically and economically bad choices all on their own. To pretend as Cjunk does that this is all some vast German imperial plot is simply demented nonsense.
It also ignores the importance of Brussels. The EU bureaucratic machinery has become an imperial force all on its own. Nigel Farage’s salvo is directed, not at Germany, but at Brussels and Van Rompuy in specific. It was Van R who said that the crisis was no time for elections, not the Germans.
Cjunk also misses the point of the Euro. Germany’s principal exports go to the rest of the EU. The point of the Euro is not that it is undervalued but that it is a common currency whatever its value. If anything, the Euro is overvalued, sustained only by the strength of the German economy and banking system. As we will discover if the Euro collapses, resulting in a massive rise in the value of the renewed Deutschmark and subsequent collapse of Germany into an industrial recession.
cgh: I’m not saying it’s a German Imperial plot … Van Rompuy is a Belgian FCS. They are all to blame. It is an “imperial” plot of the EU elite from all countries … they are now trying to use the crisis to grab even more power and co-opt individual states into a super state where the power of taxation and budgeting is centrally controlled.
But, your characterization that Germany exports primarily to the EU is false … it is a net global exporter which benefits massively from a devalued currency that assists it far beyond internal EU trade. German companies of retail goods manufacture in China … or manufacture components there. German heavy industry exports to the EU, but globally as well. A lot of those “made in China” items you buy are German.
Germany needs the PIIGs … and all the other sub-par economies in order to keep up the charade. Why do you think Merkel is becoming ever more demanding … every more shrill in her attempts to hold it all together.
If you were correct, Germany would happily let the Eurozone fall apart … it would still have the EU as a trading block; but not the Euro.
Oh … that’s right … Germans would be stuck with a Deutsche Mark worth 40% more than the Euro is now.
The upside is that the PIIGs and others could at least monetize a degree of their debt; just like the rest of the world does.

True enough on all counts 🙂
“They are all to blame. It is an “imperial” plot of the EU elite from all countries…”
There it is, as it has always really been. Instead of in your face, it’s secretive and ruled from the shadows. The French and Russian revolutions taught the elites of Europe valuable lessons of conspicuous consumption and rule.
BTW, a part of Germany’s success has been western intervention and restructuring since WW2. Germany has prospered greatly from not having a realistic military budget with the ability to rely on US & UK bases throughout the country for nearly 70 years.

Yup, but not for much longer.
Revnant Dream
When the Watchman sounds the alarm and all around slumber.
And yup don’t forget Germany prospered from being rebuilt “in the interests of peace and stability” by the wealth of the conquerer
The decline and fall of Empires and civilisations? Thieves in the night … in broad daylight.
