2. A real scum sucking scam! Been reading tidbits of info on this for years, nice to see some other people are watching this too. When asked to donate to these cause, the answer is always a short ‘no thanks’.

3. I stopped giving 30 years ago, when it became clear they figure a stray is better off dead than adopted by people they don’t approve of. Went back to feeding strays . . .

6. So-called “non-profits” are the Enrons of the 21st century. The directors pay themselves salaries they could never command.in the private sector, and they survive off of government grants or private donations. They are the cleaner, more sophisticated versions of the street corner cup shakers.
   ACORN used to rake in tons of government money helping poor people join in the housing debacle by providing “counselling” services. Nearly every government agency farms out a portion of its budget in awards for providing services. They are de facto government employees, yet don’t appear on payrolls.
   While directors use non-profit funds for new cars, vacations, and home repairs, they often pay their employees low wages and treat them like dogs…or worse as the case may be.
   Whenever a bill requires approved government “counseling”, you can be sure there is a non-profit scarfing up government money to put the government teat in people’s mouths.
   Congress needs to turn off the spigot to these useless organizations.

8. OK, I appreciate knowing where the USHS does NOT spend the money they get in donations … but (please forgive my ignorance) has anything been written about where they DO spend all that money?

10. Salaries and retirement plans for staff to start. Anti-farmer lobbying amongst other things. Give to your local shelter, not the hsus.

14. Actually the the marxist takeover of the Humane Societies, WWF, Cancer Societies only occurred about 2 decades past.
    Prior to that they were dominated by tiny cliques of elites who ruled and shamelessly exploited (lavish salaries and pensions)”volunteers” and donors…..
    IOW…the crooks and conmen were displaced by commies (with huge salaries).

15. Can you believe some people actually feed their dogs twice a day? That should be illegal! And it briefly was in Missouri after HSUS-backed Proposition B passed… until the legislature thought better of it.

16. Whenever I see an animal abuse case reported I wonder whether the animals are truly in distress or whether some holier than thou standard is being applied. I used to raise horses for my kids. I think many more horses are killed from kindness than ever die from hunger.
