  1. No way, Ron – anyone who makes fun of John Lennon is going to lose the vote of everyone between forty and seventy-five.

  2. I can see Cain’s dough rising…he can deliver Dominoes to my house any day now!!!
You just have to ‘give PIZZA a chance’!!!
    Luvved it, plain old brilliant…
    Cheers

  3. I’m 61 and never did understand the Lennon-worship-devotion thing. Give me Merle Haggard any day.

  4. Jeez, I have to keep telling you people this. If Lennon had lived he’d be a conservative like the rest of us clever people, and married to Ann Coulter.
I admire Cain’s ideas, and I hope he gets the nomination. Matter of fact, he kind of reminds me of Lennon.
Of course, it helps that I’m not the sort of moronic pond scum that considers the Beatles the worst commies since Stalin.

  5. I think Cain’s singing and Harper’s piano playing would make for an entertaining duet. Who’d be the backup singers Baird, Palin,??

  6. That’s nothin’. Democrats have a video of ‘bama in his college days playin’ Dixie on a swinette.
    That’ll be a crowd pleaser, I tell you…

  7. I concur with Micheal Coren….
I like the notion of a black President…just not this one (Ali-Bama).
Cain’s biggest hurdle will be the GOP’s tendency to allow the left(MSM) select their candidate….

  8. And Lennon as a later day Conservative…maybe, but you judge a person in their own time slot and Lennon didn’t make it past forty so I guess he’ll just have to wear it.
I’m well past my Liberal daze and have little time for Lennon beyond a few songs he co-wrote with Paul.
Herman Cain is good at what he does,(what I’ve seen of him to date). This video has to be about 20 yrs ago judging by the hair(abundance of); and as the CEO of a company…talk about being involved on the front line.
I like what I see so far… at least he knows how to balance a cheque book.In fact I’d have to say that he seems as well rounded out as well… a pizza!

  9. Jamie – a swinette??? Do tell.
Posted by: G’s Friend at October 17, 2011 6:21 PM
Sorry. Just figured folks would know that.
Well, originally there was just the unichord swinette. But now there’s a bass swinette and a six-string swinette. The difference?
Well, it just depends on how many horse-hairs you want to stretch tight across the sow’s arse.

  10. I love the guy…whst a president he’ll make, brilliant, and the sense of humour and surprisingly good singing voice are just bonuses.
And Jamie, never heard of a swinette before, but your clarification made me choke with laughter. Even on the internet, timing is essential for good humour. You deserve a rim shot for that one.

  11. That was really good. The man is genuine, and that is why the media will try to tear him to shreds.
I hope he survives the attacks, and I hope he wins.
The biggest mistake establishment Republicans could make would be to turn their backs on him and leave him stranded to fight the attacks all by himself.

  12. What Jamie forgot to mention is that you pluck the strings of a Swinette with your tongue.

  13. Cain’s better than any alternative so far. It’s him or Perry. (Romney? The Good Lord between us and evil.)
And I doubt Lennon would have had the testiculars to go conservative if he had lived. (I read a biography of him once, you know. I’m entitled to my opinion!)

  14. Well, it was George Harrison who wrote “Taxman”, not Lennon, but it’s definitely a conservative song.
I’m fifty-nine, and making fun of John Lennon would be a good start on getting my vote. McCartney wrote nearly all the good songs for the Beatles, with Harrison contributing a few (plus some truly dreadful ones – “Within You Without You” being perhaps the best example).

  15. Quite an improvement over the sappy original IMO. The only memorable song John Lennon wrote on his own was “Working class hero”. The last good album the Beatles released was Abbey Road and they were on the downslide at that point. The Beatles were a classic example of a band where the whole was greater than the parts as none of them accomplished much individually after they broke up, especially John Lennon.
Now have the urge for a pizza.

  16. I have liked Cain from the start but not because of the colour of his skin. He is the only candidate of either party who is truly a successful self-made man (someone who is productive) and he is NOT a professional politician. He is down to earth who does not depend on PR types to invent him.

  17. “Well, it just depends on how many horse-hairs you want to stretch tight across the sow’s arse”
way too funny….sounds like a family reunion

  18. This man’s too good for the presidency. Put him on American Idol — he has an amazing voice!!

  19. Cain is about to either prove or disprove his qualifications to be POTUS:
Can he ramp up his campaign staff and hire good people?
Can he change tactics and win Iowa?
Can he be a quick study and get up to speed on foreign affairs and demonstrate a suppleness of understanding on those issues ? (palins failing)
If he can do that he wins handily including november. If he doesnt it Romney and its going to be nip and tuck in November.

  20. The more I see, the more impressive he looks. I didn’t know what to think of him at first but he seems to be the genuine article. Were I able to give it, at this point, he’d get my vote.

  21. As elemental as it may be, I regard people for this position, to a degree, on the basis of would I put myself in harms way to protect this man. Cain’s got it.

  22. I’m with Minnie and she could be my younger sister age wise.
LC Bennett, do you know does Jason Kenny play any instruments? If so, add him to your short list.
BTW, pizza is our favourite Sunday meal.
I like Herman Cain more everyday.

  23. Gord Tulk
“Can he be a quick study and get up to speed on foreign affairs and demonstrate a suppleness of understanding on those issues ? (palins failing)”
Really…we only have the LSM word for that…and Tina Fays SNL “I can see Russia from my house?
The critics by and large couldn’t find Pakistan on a map and are naive neophytes…Daniel Pearle and the female journolist who had the pulse of Eygpt and got gang-banged in Tahir square….
Translation is needed….lack of knowledge in foreign afairs = this person could over-throw our dear leader….basically an ad hominem…

  24. Cain has struck a mortal blow into the heart of the leftism Mecca by mocking their “Moral Constitution/ faux Biblical Commandments/ and Universal Understanding” in a one shot one kill snipe of the single holy song that gives meaning to their existence!
Pray for this Black man, he is about to endure the wrath of smitten Liberal fanatics of all stripes.

  25. gunlop:
Liberal racism is already happening. Herman Cain grew up in the Southern US, where the successors of America’s slave owners (governors, for example) became the core support group for the Democratic Party. Dixiecrats, I believe they’re called.
Herman Cain has escaped the plantation and is telling everybody they have individual freedom in American are capable of writing their own successful life story.
When he says: ‘it’s your fault that you’re poor,’ he’s absolutely correct.

  26. Robert L, it’s been pointed out to me that the rhythm section of the Who is dead but the front line survives, whereas the exact opposite is true of the Beatles.
Obviously, it’s time to merge the bands and create the Whotles.

  27. Do you people actually like Cain? He seems so inept. I don’t hear Obama’s catchall term ‘change’ from him, but instead the equally vague 999. Cain = Obama 2.0, If I hear 999 one more time I think I am gonna snap. I’m not American but I sure would not vote for him. I’m all for Ron Paul who is brass tacks and brilliant IMHO.
