President Obama and his team have decided to turn public anger at Wall Street into a central tenet of their reelection strategy. The move comes as the Occupy Wall Street protests gain momentum across the country and as polls show deep public distrust of the nation’s major financial institutions.
It has been pointed out to me that many protesters are non-white and/or “communists.” Well my answer to that is: “WHO CARES?!” They are against the same evil, corrupted, degenerate capitalist elitists that WE are against! Instead of screaming, “6 million more!” The pro-white movementites should be JOINING this Occupy movement and supporting it!

I have to wonder if the GOP has the luxury of a six month primary season and selection process. Perhaps they should hold an emergency convention and declare a candidate in the next few weeks so that there can be a more organized opposition to what is clearly Obama’s revolutionary plotting — even if it is more of a dabbling than an organized plot, it spells trouble to unleash these forces on a weakened nation, and the prospect of long intervals of Republican in-fighting and dithering are not very pleasant either. Coup perhaps?

Had an encouraging discussion with my two daughters over the dinner table last night. My 17 year old is in Grade 12 (in Calgary) and brought up the OWS protests. Her Social Studies teacher showed a news report on the issue to the class and asked them if anyone could figure out or actually knew what this group was protesting. My daughter’s teacher ( a female) was quite scornful towards the OWS group. My daughter was too, and said these are the same group of people that are at every protest.
I said that the OWS group seemed to be protesting any number of issues. I paraphrased the spokesperson for the OWS group in Toronto, who when asked by the CTV interviewer what the main theme of the protest was, he answered there are “3000 people here, and there are 3000 different opinions on that subject”. However, I then said that it appears that in particular, they seem to be wishing to bring down the “evil” capitalists.
My older daughter piped in, that capitalism in general is quite good, but not without it’s pitfalls. If things get too slanted one way or the other then market forces will tend to correct them.
I asked her where she learned that, and she told me in her first year economics class at the U of C.
This isn’t the first time that my daughters have shown me that they lean right on a a number of important issues, and I am encouraged that they think this way and appear to be taught things in balance.

The actual movement is spurring polar opinions. My fury is only directed at the media’s love-in on these events, particularly when Fast & Furious and Solyndra are newsworthy stories.
The media is even biased in its reporting on these protests. How many far-left groups are now publicy supporting them? Is their a leftist group that doesn’t?
And why isn’t the media comparing what appears to be one of their primary grievances – politicians in bed with banks and other crony capitalism practices – with the tea party? Both groups want political representatives independent of corporate greed. The difference is these Occupy dudes want to do it by regulation (i.e. force); the Tea Party wants it achieved by de-regulation.
The irony lies in the fact that the one thing these Occupy people have consistently demonstrated – and I believe is correct for all voters – is their resistance to force.
Will they realize the impact if they get their way?
If we FORCE companies to pay more taxes; they’ll move out, generating less tax revenue.
If we FORCE the 1% to pay more taxes; thy’ll move out, generating less tax revenue.
So what they should be writing on their placards is: Tax the rich more, so we can have less!

If the middle class is stagnating, it’s because government has taxed it too much, squandered too much money on unproductive pursuits, and hamstrung the productive economy with regulations. We need to go to laissez-faire.
Wealth is not power. Only government is coercive power. The purpose of government is to protect individual rights, to step in when one person is violent towards another. It cannot help the economy because the economy is based on the voluntary trade between individuals for mutual benefit, and coercion cannot improve that, only screw it up.
