  1. Uncanny….if you close your eyes, he’s Freddie.
And, has somewhat of a resemblance too. I’m with the DC commenters, wheel out the band and start rocking

  2. Uncanny. I do have shivers running up and down my spine right now. Has anyone shown this to Brian May and Roger Taylor yet. I hear they are putting together a reunion tour. They need this guy. I just hope he doesn’t go all spandexy.

  3. Haven’t watched this video and I probably won’t bother now you’re all saying that it isn’t the real (Jefferson Airplane) “Somebody to Love.”
Queen died with “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Nothing they recorded after this merited a hearing.
Paul Rodgers on the other hand …

  4. And he’s Canadian too…
I always knew something sounded strangely familiar about Martel’s voice, but I didn’t know he’d been copying Mercury.

  5. If I recall the band Downhere had their beginnings a Briercrest in Caronport. They put out an independant CD which was fantastic (great harmonizing with the 2 main singers). That CD seems to be hard to come by.
They signed on with a Nashville based record Company and put out a CD with those same song re-arranged. I like the original arrangements much better.
Hadn’t heard much more about them in the last few years, but if you find that original CD that was produced in Caronport, grab it!

  6. Speaking of Bohemian Rhapsody…yes, he does that one too…just as spectacularly.
Just google Marc Martel Bohemian Rhapsody. You’ll be blown away.

  7. Whoa! Went and listened to his Bohemian Rhapsody; it sounds, if anything, better than Freddie.

  8. I’m confused. Some YouTube versions indicate 3.8 million views; others, 45K.
Maybe someone else knows what’s up with that.
In any case, he is amazing, I hope he wins (sorry, my Canadian patriotism is showing).
