An enraged mob in the northern Dene community of La Loche, Sasktatchewan threw bottles at RCMP officers and stormed a local hospital after officers violated the constitutional right to flee on one’s ATV when approached by police.
As this video of a separate incident in 2009 graphically illustrates, it’s not the first time that La Loche RCMP have violated this fundamental right.
h/t Black Mamba

Take the offending parties to the northernmost point of this country and chain them to a rock. Just for attempting to flee and throwing bottles.
Just another welfare check day on many reserves all over this country.Billions and billions spent on this supposedly noble culture and this is the result?Give them ten years to get trained for gainful employment and assimilate, then derail the gravy train these parasites have been riding for the past hundred years or more.
The global called them a “rowdy” group lol. If it was whitey doing it what do you think theyd call it? How about muslims? I think its time to get “rowdy” on the MSM.
Ugh! Firewater heap bad medicine!
Is anyone really surprised?
What these people need is another apology from Stephen Harper.
Ok Steve one more time, with FEELING.
Why didn’t the story tell the truth, and mention First Nations, reserve, or native people?
Afraid of the truth again MSM.
PC journalism at its finest!
Amazing restraint when dealing with drunken savages. I couldn’t do it. Not nearly enough reverse in me for that job.
Well, what’s left to do…moon was already howled at, and the lights were already shot out.
RCMP should stay off reserves. Let them kill each other off. End of problem.
Mounties say it started when patrol members responded to a complaint of a fire outside a residence
What the hell are the rcmp doing going to break up a firepit on someone;s own property? What no REAL crimes to respond to? No real JOB? Not a noise complaint, not a drunken a@@holes complaint but a complaint about a fire on someone’s property???
NO wonder no one takes them seriously any more, egads how the mighty have fallen.
If there is a complaint the RCMP must respond. They find a bunch of drunken savages they must react.
How about telling the complainant to pee up a rope? If you think it is reasonable to send rcmp to a home because oh horrors heaped upon horrors someone would have to unmitigated gall to have a fire pit, YOU SIR /Madame would be very comfortable living in a police state. I hope you remember to wipe from front to back lest someone turn you in for such an egregious abuse of the rules
Any of you ever been on a northern reserve? Lots of fires and lots of guns being fired at random. They pack up like coyotes and drive around in car loads looking for trouble. Then whine later that too many of the braves are in jail.
As it is when they are called they must go. That is why we have police. If they find drunken a@@holes breaking the law it is their job to take action. People like grey lady don’t like law and order. The truly lawless people are not the drunken savages they are the people who who cover for them.
Grey Lady you are jumping to confusions here….there was no mention of a “fire-pit” in the article…..
It is just as fair to speculate that the “rowdys” were engaging in mindless pyromania…ya know maybe setting the woods on fire….a very real hazard in northern communities.
“The 29-year-old driver was able to stand and give his name to police before he passed out.”
Just a guess, but I don’t think the driver passed out from injuries sustained in the collision.
Its time to cut off the welfare checks and ask them nicely to become productive members of society. New Zealand did it with their natives, so why can’t we?
I read this story in the national post this morning and it didn’t mention the fact that it was a Dene community. I guess they just assumed that everyone knew that.
These aboriginals are absolutely correct and should resist the Queens armed praetorian guard whenever and whenever possible.
Why is it that most Canadians are abject cowards when it comes to resistance against the Queens Government?. Why is it that alcoholic welfare cases like the aboriginals are the only ones who exhibit courage? They always put their money where their mouth is a la Louis Riel.
I admire and support them in their cause to embarrass and subvert the RCMP and the Canadian Government.
The police should be a able to use lethal force against these useless savages. They have nothing better to do than sit on welfare drink, and cause trouble. They should pull the RCMP out of these reserves, put a big fence around it and let the problem take care of its self.Enough is enough with these parasites.

Policemen are necessarily in the wrong. On the first day of the G20 riots policemen did nothing and they were wrong. When they did take action on subsequent days they used too much force.
The level of force employed by policemen is always too much or too little.
Not happy with police? Why don’t you join and then let’s see how finely calibrated a force level you would employ.
On a reserve … it’s their Human Right to do whatever the hell they feel like.
Just ask the UN.
Rizwan,i was not running down the RCMP,I agree no matter what they do they are in the wrong. There hands are tied behind there backs all the time, tough to do your job like that.!!!
Interesting comments above.
I was thinking that if the cops and EMS are so unwanted on the reserve, maybe they should just pack up and go home to The White Man’s Territory.
Then we’d all be happy. Right?
By the way, how is it that drunken punks on remote reserves where nobody has a job always seem to have ATVs and snowmobiles? And gas? I’m a “rich Whitey” and I don’t even have that stuff. Is there a secret tree that grows these things like melons or something?
Rizwan,
Why would I join a force that enforces laws that I think are useless and infringde on freedom of choices?
Being a drunken idiot on your own property should not be against the law unless you are aggressing against someone else.
P.S. Don’t be po’d at the red skin because they are living a life that the white skin handed them out of guilt. Children learn what they live, they tend to raise as high as you expect them to.
Kudos Grey Lady and KPD.
Guess the ugly left isn’t always wrong when it speaks to the humanity of a minority of my fellow Conservatives.
But then again, who would ever have thought that Stephen Harper would have hebetudinously followed the mendacious American war on drugs?
I’ve had the pleasure of working in LaLoche crewing a firefighting helicopter. Us whiteys lived behind a razor-wire fence that was locked at 10pm, the helicopter needed a guard overnight, and on Welfare Wednesday both RCMP cars and the ambulance sat outside the post office to sort out the debt collectors – keeping them from killing each other.
Many of the northern communities I’ve worked in are similar, but LaLoche tops my list of locations to stick the hose when earth gets an enema.
DOC said: “on Welfare Wednesday both RCMP cars and the ambulance sat outside the post office to sort out the debt collectors – keeping them from killing each other.”
See, that right there seems to be another one of those failed Liberal policies, just pushin’ around the Indians.
Wouldn’t it be better to let the indigenous conflict resolution process work itself out in a more natural, culturally appropriate way? Allow people to solve their differences in the time honored way?
For example, RCMP could come by the post office later and arrest the survivors…
So long as the culture and mindset of the reserve is along the lines of “Its Whitey’s fault”, nothing will ever change.
Until the natives accept personal responsibility for their sloth, laziness, addictions, uselessness, etc, the perpetual victimization culture will forever be embedded.
Blaming the Whitey for a bad deal with their great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather doesn’t cut it. It’s stupid, and just a crutch for their own welfarian lifestyle
I was just struck by the way nothing in the CBC article would have given you a clue that the people attacking a hospital somewhere in Saskatchewan were Indians. They just made it sound like the local town had gone nuts; all the MacKenzies and Luciuks and Smiths and Larsons waving their pitchforks around. That’s mildly orwellian. (You know Godwin’s law? Mamba’s law involves the first person on a thread to invoke Orwell winning a prize.)
DanBC >
“Until the natives accept personal responsibility…”
In other words – never.
I’m a little confused as to why people think the Indians would really want to change anything with the “system”. If anyone is listening, all they have really ever been asking for is more money and things for little or no production (Including self government).
Native Canadians do have land ownership along with property rights and personal protections exclusive to themselves, all other Canadians most notably “European Whites” are exempted from these entitlements (Other non-white races of course enjoy some of the privileged entitlements by virtue of race).
The downtrodden plight of SOME aboriginal Canadians is a product of themselves and their community victim culture edged on and nourished by Liberal/ socialist welfare racism.
“Blaming the Whitey for a bad deal with their great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather”
On the surface of things I think old great grampa Indian out dickered old great grampa whitey or us whiteys wouldn’t still be paying the Indians.
In the welfare district in Edmonton Welfare Day is better known as Mardi Gras. It is the liquor stores favorite days of the month.
@Phantom: The comment about snowmobiles and quads. I was thinking the same thing: ‘I wish I had a quad like that.’ Oh, I could probably afford one, but the difficulty is that I had to go to a job and earn the $14k (after tax) that it would cost to buy one. That’s the singular problem with all forms of welfare and the dole: It destroys a person’s understanding of the value of a dollar.
Only one real solution. All people are equal…period. Cut em off.
I’m sure this is probably Whitey’s fault
Incidents like this are precisely why fully automatic weapons were invented.
Many, many years ago I taught school in Northern Sask, not far away from La Loche. La Loche, way back then, had a reputation for being a hell-hole extraordinaire. I’m sure it’s only gotten worse.
The MSM will never delve into that, though. Uh-uh. Verboten.
Oz at 12:20 AM: “What these people need is another apology from Stephen Harper.”
=========
Nah. What La Loche needs is a nuke dropped in the centre of town.
I was working in Winnipeg in the early summer this year, and the hotel I was staying at had several hundred aborignal guests who were forced out the community by flooding.
It wasn’t a pleasant stay. As they were not allowed to bring alcohol into the building, the streets up and down winnipeg were lined with trucks and cars filled with aboriginal people drinking. It wasn’t so bad in the early hours, but by 7 or 8pm, you were hard pressed not to run over any glass, as apparently, to a first nations person, the beer isn’t any good unless you throw your empty bottle at a passing car when it is finished.
Tell me again….what city has the highest murder rate this year? What’s the common denominator?
