Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Not only funny, but real clever as well.
Its an art form in my mind.

I agree…the tittle is at least one third of art 😉

The image of the fellow standing in front of a furry gumby (face up to your problems) was taken from Tiananmen Square (guy standing in front of the line of tanks). It trivializes one of the bravest acts I have ever seen. The fatty with the basketball also seemed like he might have Down’s Syndrome. Apart from those two, I thought they were pretty good.
Erik – “check out http://www.despair.com“
You would say that. No wonder you people have such a high suicide rate.
rita – I liked the Tiananmen Square monster. It only works ’cause the original image is so iconic that it can be tweaked and remain instantly recognizable. Really it’s a sort of tribute. But then I never was much of a believer in taste when it comes to humour.
BlMa – oh my – http://www.despair.com is awesome, and has little to do with my genetic flaws! Cannot us dirty Scandis have a sense of humour??
Black Mamba, I wondered if I was being too precious (the tank man facing his problems).
No-one knows what happened to the tank man. He wasn’t run over and it appears he was hustled away by other citizens. He was persistent–when the tanks tried to go around, he moved. Eventually, he climbed on the lead tank and said something. A few years from now, as memory vanishes and distorts, will anyone remember the tank man, or know the origin of that image? I hope so.
