Love to see people who become politicians, like Gov. Perry, able to remain real, teachable and down to earth. He never talked down, was really an encourager and actually knew what he was talking about.
Although, Obama could probably do the same with his favorite weapon, the “teleprompter”!!! Not sure what good that thing does in bagging some food for the winter months or protecting somebody from taking your food for the winter months.
I see he’s handy with a gun.
Go-karts would also have been acceptable as a group activity.
But seriously, Governor Perry has an easiness about him that the left will hate.
I’ve liked Gov Perry ever since I read about the time he shot a coyote that attacked his dog while he (the Gov) was out jogging. He seems very likable, down-to-earth, and there’s no arguing that Rick Perry’s Texas seems to be faring better than most of the country in our current economic troubles. I also like that he’s outside the Bush power structure in the Republican Party. Apparently, the Bush family do not really like Perry that much, which I think will actually be a benefit for Perry in a National race.
That said, I’ll be interested in hearing more about his ideas and platform in order to determine if he’s the person to vote for or not.
America so needs a Blinding Flash of Common Sense to rescue it from the Obama Flash in the Pan that is destroying one indecision at a time.

I can only assume you read neither the articles I posted, nor my actual post. I clearly implied the Onion article was a joke, and no matter how biased those articles are, they contain facts that cannot be disputed.
What you do not understand is that Perry and Bachmann will NEVER BE ELECTED. There is no amount of persuasion that can convince the majority of the American public to vote for these people. That is why, if the GOP cannot field any candidates more suitable, we can all look forward to four more years of Obama.

I recounted a story in today’s readers tips about a motorcycle breakdown in the middle of nowhere,and my subsequent rescue by a single female. The bonus (not implying humour)of the story that I did not mention in the original post,is that she was packing.
The fact that she was armed likely provide extra motivation,to go along with the fact that she was basically a good person who would go out of her way to help a stranger.In this case a biker miles from anywhere.

Except that he is the governor of one of the few states that are doing well economically and that he hasn’t turned Texas into a theocracy, I’m not that familiar with Gov Perry.

A lot of the American people will vote for these people, another lot of the American people will vote against Obama.

When I hear the “theocracy” claim, I’m always,as a fan of theocracies throughout the world, interested to see what makes critics of any candidate fear that state of affairs.
It almost always boils down to ,the critic of the alleged theocrat is afraid the abortion laws might be changed,and gay marriage/adoption laws expunged.
Stephen Harper dampened that about-to -become hysterical claim by the Canadian MSM,a branch of the LPC, by clearly stating during the election campaign that there would be NO revisiting of existing legislation on abortion or gay marriage.
In so doing, he killed off the last desperate hope of the MSM/LPC for an “issue” that would galvanize Canadians against the Conservatives.
Perry may be a good candidate,once we find out more about him, maybe he’ll turn out to be the best one,or worst.

Except that he is the governor of one of the few states that are doing well economically and that he hasn’t turned Texas into a theocracy, I’m not that familiar with Gov Perry.

There is no amount of persuasion that can convince the majority of the American public to vote for these people.

A lot of the American people will vote for these people, another lot of the American people will vote against Obama.
Together they will end up voting for whoever the Republican candidate is and that candidate will be the next President of the United States.
The pendulum is swinging to the right and Obama has ensured that it will stay pegged there for a very long time.

Anyhow, people did vote for him and some even thought he did a good job.

When I hear the “theocracy” claim, I’m always,as a fan of theocracies throughout the world, interested to see what makes critics of any candidate fear that state of affairs.
It almost always boils down to ,the critic of the alleged theocrat is afraid the abortion laws might be changed,and gay marriage/adoption laws expunged.
Stephen Harper dampened that about-to -become hysterical claim by the Canadian MSM,a branch of the LPC, by clearly stating during the election campaign that there would be NO revisiting of existing legislation on abortion or gay marriage.
In so doing, he killed off the last desperate hope of the MSM/LPC for an “issue” that would galvanize Canadians against the Conservatives.
Perry may be a good candidate,once we find out more about him, maybe he’ll turn out to be the best one,or worst.
We’ll see when the evidence is in,though it’s going to be tough discerning the facts from the mountain of propaganda and misquotes/outright lies the MSM will bring against him.

Best case scenario: He is lying in order to gain votes from the Christian majority. This makes him just another lying manipulative politician.
Worst case scenario: He actually believes all this, and thinks that for some reason God will fix all America’s problems while ignoring rampant starvation, death, torture, rape, etc in Africa and the Middle East. This makes him fucking insane, not to mention dangerous, with this mindset of “why work towards fixing our problems when we can get God to do it for us?”

No, not if you’ve ever read the whole Bible or even, for example, the last book of it ‘the Revelation of Jesus Christ to John’.
So what do you expect Revelations to tell us about world problems? The 666 stuff seems like tinfoil hat territory.
