  1. While Obama was speechifying the Dow went from -380 on the day to -450 dropping below the 11,000 level.
    As of now the Dow is off 500…nice speech Barry.

    I was watching the Snake Oil Salesman live on SUN TV, I liked how they had him on one side of the screen and the Dow ticker on the other. What I did not like was seeing the ticker sink like a stone in real time.
    How long will the American public put up with his blame game?

    I know a lot of people who voted for Trudeau in 1968.
    Most of them never made that same mistake, but it’s taken Canada more than 40 years to start whittling away at Trudeaupia.
    We’re not even close.
    It’s going to take the US several election cycles to ensue a Reform (Tea Party) type attitude will at least start to take hold.
    Once again, Canada has a way to go before it gets to the original Reform platform.
    In any event, the US is now feeling Canada’s pain. The good news is that Congress is now gridlocked, so the chance of doing even more damage is minimized.
    At least you have a reply when some bufoon tells you that Obama inherited Dubya’s economy.
    Tell them one other thing Obama inherited from Obama was a AAA credit rating. At some point, those idiots will wake up.
    The US has gone far beyond the point of comforting the afflicted; they’re beyond the point of afflicting the comfortable.
    Do all in your power to make sure these utopian socialists are voted out of office next November.

    OK, since Oprah is still a big supporter of Obama, I’d like to see her and every other hollywood/entertainment hotshot, cut cheques to the treasury for 50% of their net worth.
    Same goes for Buffet and Gates who say they will give away thier fortunes and have agitated for others to do the same.
    OK guys, why wait? Cut the cheques to the treasury today.

    If he’d shut up this afternoon maybe the DOW would only be down 500 like Friday. Wait until they find out the Germans really aren’t going to bail out the Italians.

  31. Once again this weekend I saw a reference to Obama being “the smartest guy in the room”. My jaw dropped. I have no idea where this came from but I have seen it previously in the media. It’s nuts. Obama is the biggest goof-off ever to hold the office of POTUS. I don’t even believe he is running things. Surely the media is not still bedazzled by this man’s speechifying. If yes, they are way out of touch.

    When he leaves the Oval office, I will bet Michelle leaves him and takes the girls with her .. he is not a good role model …. I will bet a lot of his cronies will delete him from their blackberries too.

    a week or too for the full implications to begin to register.
    The down draft has been all to orderly no real fear yet just covering margin calls and prudent moves to safety, wherever that is, apparently gold is one.
    Tomorrow could be ugly as the whole world begins to understand this effects them too not just Wall St.
    Frankly short of a massive cut in .gov spending I don’t know what he could have said.
    A similar series of market events happened in 1987 culminating in a capitulation collapse, however back then we didn’t carry the kind of debt we do today. So I don’t see a V bottom in the offing, they will probably exhaust the selling folks will
    take their funds put them under the mattress and stagnation for a couple of years.
    Personally I think this thing is deadly serious.

  37. My dear dad told me to always arrive at least a cigarette before an appointment (hey it was the sixties). To arrive late shows lack of respect. Obama has no respect for America. He reminds me of the scion of a successful family that slowly drives the family business into the dust. I disagree with Rush. He is not doing this intentionally. He does it because he thinks he knows what is best. Problem is he doesn’t.
    The WH is in disarray. They did not know what to say at and proved it in spades when they finally showed up. The man is a disgrace.

  38. I watched it on ABC — i.e. the mainstream media. For about 10 minutes, they had him full-screen. Then they put him in a small windowbox on the left-hand side of the screen, with a much larger chart of the DJIA behind him, so we could watch it drop as he droned on.
    Even the MSM has had enough of him!

    Good point. A lot of the commentary seems to be designed to encourage him. Also, I think they’re genuinely relieved whenever he puts on a tie and makes a speech, regardless of what he says. They secretly fear he’s going to start wandering around in a bathrobe.
