Radical in the House

In an unprecedented move, a 21 year-old over-indulged narcissist of the Far Left (is that redundant?) was fired from her job as a Parliamentary page on Friday. This totalitarian thug/nitwit, who completely rejected the Democratic Will of the Canadian people, tried to spin her selfish little actions as “The Canadian version of an Arab spring”.
Undoubtedly all of her life her parents told her how “special” she was. What would be really special is if her actions made her unemployable for at least the next few decades. But undoubtedly she’ll get a job with some Radical Left activist group . . . funded directly or indirectly by your tax dollars. Ain’t our modern society with entitlements but no responsibility just grand?!
Update: Further info here, including a job offer from PSAC.
Open Question: Is it possible for the federal government to change the law, forbidding unions to exist amongst government employees on the grounds that their existence are an antithesis to civil democracy and good governance?
Update 2: A poll on the matter! (h/t maz2)

  1. Look at the eyes!!!
    that chick is loco!!
too bad she can’t verbalize anything more than the talking points of the left.
3/4 didn’t vote for Harper, call the waaaambulance.
Harper is killing our future, yeah call back when YOU start paying taxes you uninformed loser.
If I pull up to the drive thru window and that crazy kid is holding my fries, I’m stepping on the gas.
Just another example of the school system churning out unqualified adults.

  2. I suggest she travel the world to compare democratic systems, Starting with countries that have a 1 ballot system where there is only 1 name on the ballot.
And Bob Rae i suggest you put your Hidden Adgenda into action You know the one merging with the NDP because seeing what a snake in the grass you are i get this feeling when it comes time to give up that Temp Position your not going to go litely.

  3. What’s wrong with you folk? This kid just pulled the ultimate ‘cover letter’ for her pending unemployment! As noted “Senate pages are hired for one to two years to work… fetching water, photocopying documents and passing messages.”. So after 1-2 years of suckling at the taxpayer teat and while “DePape’s contract would have ended in three weeks when the Senate rises for the summer.” she decides to protest. It would have at least taken an ounce of integrity to have protested a week into being hired.
Ah the sacrifices of the young. Dieppe vetern’s no need to comment we know what you think.

  4. Lots of angry men here. Are you people ever happy?
I look forward to more of this kind of stuff during Harper’s 4 years. A pie in the face would be good.

  5. “Arab Spring”?
A lie, repeated often enough becomes the truth.
“But undoubtedly she’ll get a job with some Radical Left activist group . . . funded directly or indirectly by your tax dollars.”
    I’d bet money on it!

  6. ET @ 11:27
It’s worse than that! “In this case, the CPC (not Harper) achieved 40%. The NDP – 31%, Liberals 19%, Bloc 6%, Green 4%.” Also DePape 0% should be noted!

  7. Joe,
She isn’t an idiot, but being smart says nothing about being wise or even using yur smarts.
Dismissing those you disagree with as just being stupid means underestimating them in a way that isnt helpful in combatting them.
But she is deluded, evidence, the vacuous listing of her complaints. Think Patty Hearst.
This is not uncommon, smart, well eduacated (and yes credentialed) people from well off families rejecting everything that got them the priveledge and benefits they take for granted.
She speaks like she is in a cult….probably because she is.

  8. So she wants an Arab spring, does she? Apparently she hasn’t checked the news lately – the Arab spring has accomplished exactly nothing except get thousands of people killed by their own governments.
    Oh wait, she’s a lefty so that’s a feature, not a bug.

  9. ‘International Development and Globalization’
Has U of O cloned a mental midget.
There has to be a business opportunity somewhere for her…Perhaps an underdeveloped “Hooters” for sore losers, the ugly & the brainless…
CBC reported she has had Civil Service job offers…who would have guessed? CWB, Long Gun Reg, CBC ….CBC..CBC
CBC has a long history of developing agents of NGO’s in foreign countries.
An audit of CBC Human Resources (hiring) would find that they have repeatably hired foreign non-performing folks that have been allowed to play the CBC system, and quickly (after abusing sick pay/vacation schemes) returned to their home countries to work with NGO’s.

  10. Too bad things like that are:
    a) filmed
    b) released to the media
    c) enlessly discussed

  11. She forgot that in Canadian Federal Elections just like in a Hockey Game who ever scores the most goals wins, that’s that the rules of the game”
gee stevie, what a goddamm stupid analogy. I didn’t know in Canuckistan there are 5 or 6 teams on the ice at any one time.

  12. It’s OK to sully what is supposed to be an impartial office to sell a “Canadian Spring.”
Unite the left, from the Speaker of the HofC. Yeah, real sweet move dear. It’s almost as ironic as radical groups who rely on government money to try and tear down government; no doubt, as many say, her only current employment option.
These twits argue our governance traditions don’t matter, we need renewal, direct from the undergrad seminar room.
If Bob Rae actually agrees with that then he truly is an idiot.

  13. Morticia (good name for a dead ender): “Lots of angry men here. Are you people ever happy?”
EXCUSE ME? I’m not a man. Nor are a number of other posters.
BTW, you’re new here, aren’t you? So, don’t presume to know who’s who and what’s what. So, scram, dear. Your little friends over at rabble are calling you out to play.

  14. morticia/patricia- why would you want someone to fling a pie in your face? Is that how you feel about yourself?
This young person has the right of free speech – oh, and morticia/patricia – do you accept someone flinging a pie in your face as ‘speech’?…but, I think that free speech should be, first, based on factual reality, and second, be open to debate.
The factual reality is that the people voted for, not Harper, but the CPC.
Second, the CPC vote ratio was, rounded off, 40% – a 2% increase from the last election.
Third fact, the people who did not vote for the CPC did not vote against the CPC but for one of several other parties. I pointed out the ratios above.
Now, can these other parties all be defined, not for their own platforms but only and strictly only, as ‘Not CPC’? Or ‘Not Harper’? There is no factual evidence of that!
The only factual evidence of a ‘not-vote’ is within Quebec where the people voted for the NDP at 31%, a 12% increase but almost all this gain is in Quebec. So in fact, they voted for the NDP as a protest vote against the Bloc. Elsewhere in Canada the NDP gain was obviously not as dramatic but took gains not from the CPC but from both the Liberals and the Green.
Her other declarations are also without factual evidence and are just evidence of her own stupidity – such as her claim that Harper is ‘destroying the climate’. Equally ‘corporate tax cuts’ increase economic growth as the money is invested back into the industrial economy.
It also gets me when people try to justify their own ungrounded opinions with the ‘ad populum fallacy of claimin that everyone agrees with them. Ms LePage asserts that ‘most people in this country know that what we need’..etc.. (her notes were ‘green jobs, better medicare and a healthy environment’…
No – most people do not agree with her. The Green Party, by the way, in this last election, had 4% of the vote but this was a loss of 2.8% from the previous election of 6.8%..and in Ontario from 8 to 3.8%.
So, Ms LePage’s facts were totally wrong; her assumptions were false and her contempt for the people was enormous.

  15. the little twit is an idiot and so is anybody who would defend the brat. And yes, I don’t doubt she will be rewarded with a nice job with some nutty far-left organization.
She would looking absolutely darling in a burqua, though….

  16. Et dear,a pie in Harpo’s face silly! Batb?? It’s good to hear there are grumpy broads here too. I like it here, I think I’ll stay.
Regarding my handle, some of you were suggesting a resemblance between the young woman protester and the daughter from the Adam’s family? Do I really have to spell this out for you dummies?

  17. Any bets that Ms Lepape took at least one course with Ammir Attaran and got an “A”?

  18. ” Government Cutbacks Start: One Page At-A-Time”
would be the headline I’d imagine for the Tor Starkavich, although, since I never read it on-line or dead tree version, it is a guess.
Silly bitch sure added a nice line to her resume. Ditto on what happened to security checks. I doubt if even Lizzy Mae can hire her.

  19. She does not possess the smarts to organise this on her own, but that does not excuse her for allowing herself to be used. It is also clear from the election results, including the popular vote, that she does not speak for nor represent most Canadians. This is much the same as the American radical Left claiming that Bush stole the election and that Gore had actually won. Of course the Left and free democracy cannot ever a marriage make, because for them people are too stupid to know what is good for them. If they had their way we would become another Cuba.

  20. Stephen If you go back and read what I wrote I never said Wednesday was stupid I simply pointed out the flaw in your statement that she was smart. There is no evidence for her smartness or her stupidity. She comes across as a sulky young ideologue that took all the wrong courses at university. It would seem that she never questioned the material being presented to her. It also seems that she lacks understanding of democracy. Which believe it or not does not support your contention that she is smart.

  21. Regarding my handle, some of you were suggesting a resemblance between the young woman protester and the daughter from the Adam’s family? Do I really have to spell this out for you dummies?

    …………………
That’s RIGHT….I used to love it when you said “You Rang?”

  22. Ping /
My point was that everybody knows who wins the Hockey game by the final score, and every Canadian knows that the Party that has the most seats in a Federal election forms the government ie; is the Winner
    Got it smarty pants

  23. Joe,
Look, she has some intellectual skills. You dont get into the page program without something going on there. That doesnt make her a genius but it indicates there is something going on.
But that is beside the point. My main point, and one where it looks like where we have common goround, is that she has swallowed hook line and sinker the cult. Green jobs, fooled proletariat etc etc. This is common, smart (I will use that word again) kids from well off families get caught in the heady theories of the left.
That she doesnt have enough experience, is acting out against her background, fell in love with a cute left wing guy/gal….who knows.
I still point to her anomolous comment about her father and the G20 protests. Why did that come up? who cares what her father thinks….clearly she cares. So she continues her acting out from her position of priveledge to try to prove her point to her father.
There is more going on here, and it is a common tale. We saw many of these kids last summer at the G20. No differnent than the squamish 5, the weatherman, the FLQ or any other radical group. Smart kids of priveledge get caught up in radicalism to act out, assuage their guilt, resolve their parental issues…..how much do you want to bet dad is really successful.
On the point that she has swallowed it all without questioning….agreed.

  24. The Arab spring insanity bothered me the most. When she gets the only non-NGO job that her degree qualifies her for the trainers at McDonalds will teach her how to read. Once she has grasped that skill I hope she will read a newspaper and find out about the innocent Christians who are being murdered for the crime of being Christian and how women are still being forced to know their place. Or, she could go to Egypt and protest in order to tweak the Arab spring from “much better than Canada on its worst day to “perfect” and perhaps get a free virginity check. I hope she repositions her head because neither the view nor the smell can be good where it is now.

  25. Morticia, we just want to learn, please spell it out for us dummies.
By the way you are now advocating assault on the PM of Canada. Are you sure that is a wise thing to do?

  26. A different analogy for our elections is the 24 Hours of Le mans car race. The winner is the team that completes the most laps in the given time.
In this case, the CPC (not Harper) achieved 40 laps. The NDP – 31 laps, Liberals 19 laps, Bloc 6 laps, Green 4 laps. It might work better using seats instead of %points- I’m too lazy today to look them up.
As for Ms. DePape, her little protest was not unlike a gang initiation killing, getting the “street cred” to start a lucrative career as a leftist lobbyist. Sad but true.

  27. If the little twit wants to play ” Arab Spring”,I’m all for it.As long as I get to play Syrian king.
Also, how come these 60 percenters don’t march in Calgary to protest our very own 39% multi-cultural mayor?
    Sorry,question asked and answered.

  28. I’m still trying to figure out what “Stop Harper” is supposed to mean?
Shopping, going to the bathroom, answering the phone?
My personal belief is that she wants Harper to stop with economy issues and get on with scraping the gun registry like he promised. If so she’s right.

  29. Well Stephen I think you and I would have a major disagreement on the definition of ‘smart’. When I went to university we used to call the ones who behaved like Wednesday the pseudo-intellectuals. The positions they held were fanatical to the point where their defense of their positions were mere talking points recited over and over again. They seemed incapable of reason because they were so beholden to their beliefs. There was no amount of evidence or history or logic you could bring to bear that would change their mind. They seemed incapable of grasping the big picture or broadening their horizon or even seeing a different way to achieve their goal. Did they have the capacity to be smart? Some did and some didn’t. I have talked to several, years later, who admitted how “stupid” they were back then. Others just moved on to different causes when their zeal for their present cause waned. Those who so moved from cause to cause retained their cliche approach to life. Their unthinking unwavering devotion to ‘the cause’ remains.

  30. Their are no boundrys by Marxists when it comes to shoving an agenda down others throats. Not enogh camps in thier minds to exile conservatives to. Even the will of the Canadian people means nothing to this raving group of nuts.

  31. RFB nails it – Canada had it’s ” Arab Spring ”
and the left’s putrid agenda was thrown in the dumpster: their ideology was put forward in contrast with Harper’s, and the people chose Harper’s.
That bears repeating: an election was held, and the people spoke. The Prime Minister is obligated to implement the policies he ran on.
This girl’s disgraceful act just reminds everyone that when the left really gets trounced, as they did in May, they become infantile, in addition to all their other usual faults.

  32. If this little twit had lived under any of the pre-“Arab Spring regimes, she’d be toast now — and I mean that literally. For that matter, she’d be toast under any of the POST-Arab Spring regimes. What she’s really upset about is the fact that she’s living in a democracy where actual elections are held, and occasionally get a result she personally doesn’t like.
She’s a spoiled, pampered, cosseted little brat who’s lived in an ideological cocoon all her life and can’t cope with reality..

  33. A lot of sound and fury signifying nothing…….
This, like everything else, will disapear into the blackhole of the 24/hr news cycle.

  34. She has every right in the world to have free speech. But to pick her spot where she did is in the very least bad taste. I allways thought that is what the big open space on the lawn was for outside the parliment buildings.

  35. I blame Lady Gaga
“My mama told me when I was young
    We are all born superstars”

  36. Why give this moron a platform? I’m not saying we shouldn’t allow anyone to speak. I’m merely pointing out that by giving this moron a microphone and some news time, you make her feel important, which she isn’t. She is not the first person to say stupid things, make a public spectacle of herself and be given fifteen minutes of fame for it.

  37. Wonder why her last name is Marcelle but AKA DePape? For special protests only?
Maybe like Mordecai now calling himself Morticia or is it Mortician?
Lefties are so dead and they don’t even realize it yet this nonsense will be their only form of protest for at least 8 years.
    Best to Snailmail Canada btw.

  38. Welcome Morticia!
Can’t wait for several of our regulars to get their teeth into you. Always a need for fresh blood. Grab that low-hanging fruit while you can still see straight…
What I really came on to say was, beware Canada!
The Left has no power except through acts like this for the next four years, disrupting the very democracy they use as a tool for that disruption.
Remember there are two Lefties – those who are there because they have no principles and use the Left to attain/hold power, and those who are vacuous nitwits who can be convinced of anything.
The power-seekers are apoplectic, and could very well steer some of their less-stable brethren into acts similar to this but perhaps more, shall we say, destructive? Good old Morticia has already suggested someone assault the PM, albeit with whipped cream.
Seriously, we should take notice when someone with that girl’s C.V. can get into the midst of the political creme de la creme in the first place, never mind get into the Throne Speech smuggling something the size of that sign.
I know that to do something nasty to our PM would be so “American” as to seem beyond the capabilities if our Loony Left, but remember anything seems to be OK as long as it is a Leftard doing it.
All I’m saying is, let’s take care folks. The Lefties lost something they never thought they could lose. Don’t put anything past them in their knee-jerk responses in the next while…

  39. Extremely inappropriate behavior for any employee, and especially so for someone in a high profile job like a parliamentary page where the utmost respect for parliamentary tradition and decorum should be maintained.
No doubt those who thought it was a good idea are just your typical sore looser ‘Harper haters’ who will grasp at any straw to voice their politicized displeasure with the choice by Canadain voters. If it had happened during the Liberal Regime they would be singing another tune. Their politicized ‘sour grapes’ attitude says a lot about their character and the sort of people they vote for.
Of course the ad hominem attacks from some of the forum members is no better. It’s idiots like that which give us conservatives a bad name. If you can’t speak to the issue then why show your infantile ignorance with personal attacks.

  40. There are many stop signs in Canada. We will soon see Harper’s name on them
