  1. If I was running the country I would require that all postal employees have their paychecks delivered to their homes by Canada Post. No exceptions.
All of a sudden they would get the message.
All of a sudden they would be more careful.

  2. “I would like to set up a program”…
That’s always the answer with the left aint it.

  3. Canada Post is just another example of the ‘fat’ that exists in a country that cannot pay its’ bills.
My mother-in-law has house delivery and regularly invites the postie in for tea and cookies. The Postie is taxied to her route and then picked up and returned to the office.
My mail is delivered to a community mail box which happens to be about 3/4 of a km from our house. IMO home mail delivery should be gone and posties terminated. The expense is unwarranted.

  4. I’ve lived in many towns and cities the last 60 odd years, and can only say that I’ve had very good and reliable service from the Post Office.
Some of the horror stories indicate many weren’t as fortunate.
I think CUPW is about to experience a real smackdown, as we are still in a recession, lots of people in my industry are unemployed, and there is NO sympathy for the strikers among any of dozens of people I’ve talked to.
Superboxes in residential areas and delivery only to businesses is probably going to become the norm.
The laid of Posties will probably have a pretty hard time finding new jobs, but what of the Union bosses, how will these super-drones ever find gainful employment?

  5. Remember in the 1970’s when CUPW leader Joe Davidson said “If the public cannot see the justice of our cause, then to hell with the public.”
Ever since then my attitude has been “to hell with CUPW, and to hell with the post office for caving in to them each time”. I’ve applauded each innovation that takes away business from those parasites, and I’ve taken care to avoid using the post office to the greatest extent possible. (I still buy from Amazon, but they better get a better delivery system, fast, or they’re off my list of suppliers as well.)
So my hope is that there is no back-to-work legislation, no concession. Give them a little, which is all they deserve, or give them a lot to hasten their demise. I don’t care. To hell with them all.
