  1. “Do you fear the Tory majority?”
My only fear is that they move too slowly with their “scary” agenda.

  2. CTV had 2.16 million viewers, CBC 2 million, Global 668,000. Sun TV about 100,000.
I wonder how quickly the numbers would change if SUN was forced into the Country’s households; for the good of the citizenry you know.

  3. AS many have stated, support Sun TV or lose it. I certainly remember what the ‘establishment’ did to the National Post after Conrad Black dared to challenge the Leftards.
I was actually shocked at our campaign office election night when I was insisting on switching to Sun TV from the CBC. I was the only one there who knew about the station. I lost out most of the night because the CBC was posting BC returns on the bottom of their screen. I took solace by watching the pontiffs choke on the CPC majority.

  4. I enjoyed Sun, especially Ezra, during the brief sampling I had on Telus Satellite. I was very disappointed when I found a message on channel 213, saying it had been disconnected.
Funny thing is, though, I’m not finding I need to go straight to the news, since the Conservatives won a majority. I feel like a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders. No, it’s not like winning the lottery. It’s more like snagging a new client, or finding out I don’t have herpes. With the possibility of another disfunctional parliament looming, it was hard to have an evening that wasn’t filled with channel surfing, blogging, and pulling at my thinning hair. This week, i feel much more relaxed. The country is not falling apart.

  5. Shaw is offering Sun TV for free as an intro and I’ve been watching it consistently. I never thought I’d watch a news channel as steadily as I’ve been watching Sun. It’s just spot on. Even on those issues, wherein they hold the Conservatives’ feet to the fire, it’s justified. Equally, they bring on a range of guests from accross the political spectrum including Buzz Hargrove and some of the Dipper and Liberal strategists. Bob Rae was on yesterday. I’ll be signing up for the channel if this keeps up.

  6. Just cancelled Bell after ten years. Told them why too, not that they give a damn. I may just go without tv for the summer, as I have a motorcycle that needs some hard riding.

  7. From the little I have been able to see of Sun TV, I think that it compares favourably with Fox News. In fact, the folks at Fox could learn something about reasoned discourse from Ezra Levant.

  8. I am a telus optics tv customer, I have already emailed them many many times about SUN News and they can’t even bother to respond with a yes no or FU. Looks like I am going to have to cancel my telus everything, tv home phone 3 cellphones hope they enjoy the loss of revenue, Oh, and I have been a loyal telus customer for decades.
tvfeedback@telus.com is the email the customer service guys gave me.

  9. “I never thought I’d watch a news channel as steadily as I’ve been watching Sun. ”
yup same here. We have it on in the workshop all day long now instead of the radio.

  10. Yes to that batb. Seasoned pro in weeks!
Ezra is a flat-out Canadian hero. Smart, witty, tough, ballsy, brash, buffoonish (to good effect) enthusiastic (I really loved the shocked look when that dairy farmer told him about the 25 strong militia that descended on him for — gasp! — selling whole mikl), energetic …. optimistic.
But here’s what I like most: he’s generous where he could be excused for toxic bitterness. Notice how in that clip he didn’t feel that Layton should be barred from political leadership, focusing instead on Media Party (TM) bias and hypocrisy.
A Conservative majority and Ezra on Canadian TV talking about FREEDOM. It’s a mind-altering, disorienting experience. I could NEVER have imagined it, natural-born cynic that I am.
I DVR Beck and Ezra daily and watch both with my formerly apolitical wife.

While the Shaw Cable guy might be really good — he will even trade a Shaw PVR for a Bell PVR! — we were advised by Shaw Cable that Shaw Direct might be better for us.
For example, with Shaw Direct you can have one account, yet another installation in a cottage/cabin/RV or whatever. And soon they will be offering bundles with Internet and phone.
Anyway, we will be getting Shaw Direct in a few days. And, more for less. And, great courteous service. Maybe even a whiff of ethical fragrance from that big field over the hills, away from this slimy green ghetto.

Forgot, momentarily. Yes, what a treat to see/watch Ezra — this time over my iPhone hotspot and laptop with a very respectable speed and quality.
The guy just gets better and better and better.
The objections raised by the competition against Ezra and crew, and Sun News, is rather entertaining too. Takes me way back to sandbox jealousies of yesteryear.

  13. Ezra on our TVs, in our homes, speaking volumes for many of us.
    Imagine that…
Kicked all three substandard services of Bell from our home almost 2 yrs ago.
Shaw in our area uses 2 sats so we rarely lose the signal. Good on Shaw to offer this for such an extended period for free.

  14. Regarding the ‘media party’,my all-time favourite social satirist/commentator, Frank Zappa, wrote this about 40 years ago.

    I am gross and perverted
    Im obsessed n deranged
    I have existed for years
    But very little had changed
I am the tool of the government
    And industry too
For I am destined to rule
    And regulate you
I may be vile and pernicious
    But you can’t look away
I make you think Im delicious
With the stuff that I say
I am the best you can get
    Have you guessed me yet?
I am the slime oozin out
    From your tv set
You will obey me while I lead you
And eat the garbage that I feed you
Until the day that we don’t need you
Don’t got for help…no one will heed you
    Your mind is totally controlled
It has been stuffed into my mold
And you will do as you are told
Until the rights to you are sold
    That’s right, folks..
    Don’t touch that dial
Well, I am the slime from your video
Oozin along on your livinroom floor ….

Frank,IMHO,would have liked Sun TV and Ezra.

  15. Terry Milewski, you are not a journalist. You’re the creepy one. Please PMSH defund the CBC asap.

  16. All day today,I have found myself coming back to the first comment on this thread.

The contrast between Kate’s original “you don’t speak for me ” to Brent’s ” you do speak for me ” shows a real change that is extremely significant and moving.

Someone else here wrote that he felt that a weight had been lifted off his shoulders after the election. I felt the same way.

I don’t want to come across as too sappy, but the launch of SunTV and the election have given me hope and erased much dread. There may very well be a rainbow around the corner,we just have to keep taking small steps to get to it.

  17. Next a Sun satellite.
If it takes money I will donate. Bell can suck lemons.

  18. I asked Bell when I could expect my Sun TV channel back. They responded by offering to cancel my entire service.
Nice piece of work, those guys.

  19. I called and called Telus to ask when they were going to add SUN to their programming on OPTIK prior to April 18. They hummed and hawed and finally came out with the truth the week before April 18 and said they might carry it down the road. Not good enough for me.
So I called SHAW and got basic digital and now have SUN.
I pay Telus $200.00/mo for my phone/2-cells/ Internet/OPTIK. I also got a FREE recorder from them…which is why I moved from SHAW.(No Free recorder)
I’m pretty sure that I will be moving back to SHAW if I get a better deal for all my services for their decision not to carry SUN.
SHAW ARE YOU LISTENING??? FREE RECORDER AND ME AND POSSIBLY THOUSANDS OF OTHERS.
    PS. SUN is great.
