According to the JCT analysis, 51 percent of all (US] households, which includes filers and non-filers, had either zero or negative income tax liability for tax year 2009. The committee also found that 30 percent of tax units actually made money off the income tax system for the 2009 tax year.

I used to think low taxes for the “poor” was a good thing. It offered them a chance to leverage themselves out of poverty.
I have since changed my mind. All low taxes does for the poor is enable their poverty and entrench a sense of entitlement.
I hate taxes, but I also hate garbage dump countries and I don’t want Canada to become one.
EVERYONE should pay a minimum of 10% in income tax no matter what their earnings.
This will serve as a reminder that they are contributing members of society and that there is a cost to living in a great country.
To be fair, ‘the poor'(and the rest of us) pay plenty of sales tax(GST/HST) already, whether they pay income tax or not..
And payroll taxes like CPP and EI.
Income tax is just part of the story.
Working people are soaked elsewhere.
We need a constitutional amendment that gives every one one vote, and those that contribute two times ‘X’ average household contibution, an extra vote.
That will balance it out.
Taker and Makers can get along, just recognise relative roles.
And while we are talking amendments, how about one limiting total all government take to 33% GDP?
The unproductive dead weight of government will then not choke future generations.
“Working people are soaked elsewhere“.
They should try Depends! They’re Greaaat!!
Holy smokes Kate, I know you have eclectic tastes in blogs and websites, but Accounting Today? I’m an accountant, and I wouldn’t read Accounting Today.
Only in Canada, do supposedly ‘conservatives’ argue about who should pay for big government.
Let the Rich Pay!. Let the Poor PAY!
It’s entirely beyond them, that the size of government should be chopped, and all taxes should also be.
The ‘poor’ in reality, would be better described and the ‘less motivated’. to hell with them except for the truly disabled.
pfft.
high taxes are just the way the rich get robbed of what they stole. they steal? steal it back !!!
what about G.E. ?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_thelookout/20110325/ts_yblog_thelookout/g-e-paid-no-taxes-on-5-1-billion-in-profits
the link says it all.
apparently they are among the ‘poor’ who paid NO taxes in 2010.
oh, p.s., I didn’t pay a nickel in taxes either. I write off EVERYTHING including such miniscule items as a $6 name tag for my dog. heh heh heh !!!
They call it “Socialist Justice”
It means “Entitled to Their Entitlements”
It’s that I think the ‘poor’ should pay more, I think everyone should pay an equal share and when I did my taxes, I got the same deductions for CPP and EI that a ‘poor’ person would get, the only difference is that the net offset for those deductions was only half what someone in the bottom bracket got and proportionately, they got MORE CPP and EI deductions than I did.
The lovely part is that I’ve paid maximum amount in CPP and EI premiums for the last 30 years and I’ll never be able to collect a single penny of either.
But what really irks me is that I pay far more in taxes in a single earner home than two people each making half of my salary would…maybe this time around we’ll get true equality in taxes, the pension splitting was a start, the upcoming idea of splitting income for parents will small children is great, but what about us who paid for all of that and everyone else’s EI, GST rebates, Family Allowance and welfare and never got a cent in of any of that return.
Deduction and payment-wise the ‘poor’ are further ahead than the middle class and always will be simply because they get to keep all of what they make and get gov’t cheques for various things to boot. I cringed then cursed filling out my taxes looking at all the schedules and deductions, offsets and rebates that I couldn’t use because my income was ‘too high’…and the example quoted that “we pay GST” is a bit of a red herring…I pay GST too but I don’t get a rebate cheque back to cover any of it, I just pay.
This is why nobody that pays taxes votes ndp..and those that vote ndp in college generally switch parties as soon as they have to declare an income instead of claiming tuition rebates.
I don’t want to pay less than my share, I’m just tired of paying mine and two other people’s too.
Actually, the piece about GE paying no taxes in 2010 was another bit of spin by the NY times…GE didn’t pay any taxes IN ADVANCE…that’s like my not having any deductions taken from my paycheque and settling up later…they DID however pay payroll, state, local, and international taxes…quite a large number in fact, but then again, moonbats never let facts get in their way..and quoting an article that’s wrong doesn’t make it magically right.
They will pay sooner or latter. Obama is going to squeeze America dry.
No one but the Political elite will be safe from his sniffing lucre hounds.
JMO
Does this factor in government employees? They pay income tax but the don’t contribute to the tax base. That could mean that we could have 35% of the people carrying all the taxes. the 65% are the ones who keep voting for more stuff because it doesn’t cost them anything and they can outvote the people who do pay for everything.
My figures are probably off but you get the point.
GE is not typical. They got huge tax breaks because they sunk money into green bs. The typical US corp far more in taxes than corps in virtually any other country in the world. On top of the Federal tax, states and cities levy corporate income tax in the US. The US corporate tax scheme is driving more and more US firms to Canada, a trend which only will grow as the PM continues to reduce tax on firms operating in Canada. Walmart sells ordinary white bread, which is costly to ship long distances, baked in Canada through its US stores! The lower Canadian tax burden is undoubtedly a factor in making the baker competitive internationally.
Bemused @8:45. If I were you, I’d be looking for a different accountant.
You may not qualify for OAS (if your income is extraordinarily high), but you don’t lose out on CPP benefits.
Waiting for Dizzy or Davenport with the 1% own all the wealth argument…..tick, tick, tick….
jcl: Isn’t “or” redundant?
Well, today I bought a coffee, small sandwich and a donut at Timmies, price was $5.45. Except I paid $6.16, and the difference, about a whole donut’s worth, is HST.
Which P1SSED me off I must say. The counter girlie heartily agreed, at some length.
Personally, I don’t care how much the “poor” pay. Its none of my business. I care how much -I- pay. I pay too damn much. We ALL pay too much.
If I might venture a guess though, I’d say “The Poor” pay at least 20% of their income from whatever source in direct tax (HST, gas tax, blah blah blah), user fees and costs directly caused by tax. At least. Probably more, because most of them gamble, drink and smoke. Taxes are sky freakin’ high on that stuff.
I’d say The Poor may actually have more to gain from shrinking this horrific monstrosity government of ours than the “wealthy”. At least gas, smokes and beers will be cheaper.
I’d rather pay taxes than have toll booths every few miles on every road and bridge, for example. We all benefit directly or indirectly from the taxes we pay. ALL of the taxes I pay [income, property, GST, etc] amount to a small percent of my self-employed gross income. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.
I’d rather see NO income tax and nothing but sales taxes on everything except basic uncooked food. User pay… the more you consume, the more you benefit from the infrastructure, the more you pay.
One in ten employees are a pulic employee. Stats Canada. Enough said.
public employee 1 in 10
I am firing that spell check. Your fired!!
quote…Bemused @8:45. If I were you, I’d be looking for a different accountant.
You may not qualify for OAS (if your income is extraordinarily high), but you don’t lose out on CPP benefits….unquote
If I were you I’d read up on the section of the Superannuation Act that strips the equivalent CPP payments from military pensions and those of government workers too…the ‘gold plated’ pensions are for MP’s, Senators and appointees, everyone else has to do 35 years to qualify..or be penalized for going early.
and to those who complain about ‘government workers’ they’re the only ones who give a portion of any pay raise back to the ‘company’ in higher taxes, pay for their own pensions and those of others through CPP deductions they never get to use and print the cheques for everyone else….please don’t confuse government clerks, border agents, coast guard officers, military members, parks officers, customs agents, rcmp and correctional officers for all those criminals you want locked up, social workers, food inspectors, the people that keep the heat on in museums and Parliament buildings, civil engineers and all the others who work to make Canada a safe and sane place to work with their politically APPOINTED overseers and unnecessary make-work projects for party bagmen…there is a distinct difference and anyone who bashes a worker just because they draw a government cheque then pay half of it back to the same place they drew it from is either completely uninformed, unable to rationalize, or jealous and lacking the skills to qualify for a position.
“and to those who complain about ‘government workers’ they’re the only ones who give a portion of any pay raise back to the ‘company’ in higher taxes”
What an asinine statement. Their deductions go straighht to the govt while mine go through an extra step but still to the govt.
My bitch is thaT MOST govt workers get paid a way to ,much and do way to little. Double whammy!!
“The lovely part is that I’ve paid maximum amount in CPP and EI premiums for the last 30 years and I’ll never be able to collect a single penny of either.”
Start your own business, and you don’t need to pay EI; pay yourself in dividends instead of salary, you don’t need to pay CPP. Also you can write off all kinds of expenses like the fuel in your car, meals on the road etc.
There are ways to pay less tax. If more people would use them, we’d starve the beast.
Bemused is right the government does claw it back. I started CPP at 60. It isn’t much but I can collect less for 5 years until they claw it back. It is a tangled web that sounds good.
The other thing about CPP is apply early because there is no back pay. If you start 6 months after you become eligible your benefit will be slightly higher but you lost 6 months of pension and you may not be around long enough to get it back.
Taxes are too high period.
We get very little for the outrageous amount of taxes collected. Mostly we get incompetence and failure.
When civil flunkies, aka civil servants, (misnomer when their wages are 28% higher than those they allegedly serve) rule the roost with total numbers and money, we are under their thumb.
BTW, civil servants do not pay taxes, they collect taxes.
Top heavy, overly authoritarian government must disappear. That means taxes need to be reduced by more than half in short order. then after that, they will need to be reduced by another half.
Income tax is the most evil form of tax on a productive member of the working force. There is no moral reason to punish productivity. It is immoral to do so.
well bemsed, and you too small c, the FACT is in 2010 GE paid no taxes.
on 5 billion profits.
guess what; betcha they got a plan in place to defer this year’s also when the time comes.
Just hang out in my childhood neighborhood, or watch a few episodes of Judge Judy.
Poor people’s idea of “financial planning” revolves around their “income tax refund.”
When poor people hear “income tax,” they hear the word “income.”
When rich people hear “income tax,” they hear the word “tax.”
And that is why poor people stay poor — and the rich get poorer, since they are forced to support them.
Tell ya what kiddies…Go stand on the border, get a dinghy and cruise the coastline, catch your own crooks, keep them in your basement, and handle every little detail of modern life by yourself then. people demand certain services or for someone to make sure they’re done properly and then bitch because those people want to be paid for their time.
I’m not arguing that some departments could be minimized or done away with altogether, the same could be said for most civilian companies, and I really hope that this new majority takes a hard look at everything and spares nothing, but to come out and say that ALL public employees are useless and don’t do anything is indicative of someone that either never worked a day in their life or clawed their way to the top from fry cook to shift supervisor and has gotten a little too drunk with power.
I’m probably one of the largest ‘C’ conservatives around but I still know there are some things that have to be done and if you pay minimum wage for skilled jobs then you’ll get a minimum result.
How about you come right out and say that the military needs to take a huge pay cut since the civilian equivalent is a low paying job ? Then get your arse over to Afghanistgan for $9.65/hour.
The cuts need to come from the layers and layers of bureaucracy and management that spends most of it’s time writing memos about which memos to write and the endless amount of redundant paperwork and redoing the same thing a half dozen times needed to cater to special interest groups, not the people actually doing the typing, filing and technical jobs that need doing. If you think it’s so much better in the public service than your private job, then feel free to take a government job, I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed when you find out you might have to work though.
We need our MPs to start paying taxes.
I think that politicians themselves need to pay for a stake in lower taxes.
How did Jean Chretien become a millionaire who could afford to pay Tiger Woods $400,000 to play a round of golf with him when Chretien spent his entire life as an MP?
Bemused, there are some things that are best done by government. Defense of the realm and its borders, keeping the peace internally and enforcement of contracts.
But government being a very blunt instrument, that’s about all it is good for. Our current situation is the end of 100+ years of social engineering by government, which began in Victoria’s reign and has never stopped. Any good that has come from this effort has long since been overshadowed by the strangulation of our economy, our freedom and our culture.
Even now our newly elected “conservative” government has a bill pending which if passed would allow police unfettered access to YOUR internet activities, mail and browsing history. Unfettered meaning, at whim. No court order required. The stated purpose of this legislation is to root out “hate speech”, which as we know has been interpreted to mean anything the academic Left wants it to mean. Mark Steyn QUOTING a Muslim imam, or Ezra Levant republishing the Mo-Toons are but two examples.
We have too much government. We have too many civil servants, doing too much stuff. We do not need them to work better/faster/cheaper. We need LESS of them doing LESS things for LESS money.
Plus you are ignoring the one great truth of government. If a private company is badly run, no matter how big it is, it will go out of business. Government agencies don’t go out of business. They rather destroy all that is around them and feed off the wreckage to keep growing and expanding.
Proof is Detroit Michigan. Michigan spends hundreds of millions on education every year, has done for many decades. New study shows that HALF OF DETROIT is functionally illiterate. They can’t read.
So at least half the money spent on education in that place was -stolen-. Would it not be better to cut taxes that to continue this organized crime racket?
Canada has endless little sink-holes just like the Detroit School Board. You think the money you spend on OHIP goes to heal the sick? Maybe 10% of it. Where does the rest go, Bemused?
Tax cut. Now, please.
Well, sharpshooter, Mr. fact checker, where did you get the “fact” that GE paid no taxes in 2010. I just went and read their 2010 financial statements, including their income tax note and they had a tax rate of 7.9%. In 2009, you might have made an argument that they paid no taxes as their tax recoveries exceeded their expenses.
However, all of this doesn’t mean that they paid no taxes. They would have spent millions if not billions in various taxes including municipal taxes, state taxes and many others too numerous to mention.
It is so simple. To fix the tax situation just withhold any source deductions.
Make them come and get it, if everybody did this the beast would starve.
Starve the beast? More like cut your own throat.
Federal taxes of any kind are not needed, nor are they even USED by a federal government that “prints” it’s own money.
Literally, any federal taxes collected are destroyed.
Read Roger Mitchell.
Local and state taxes actually are used. Local and state governments can go bankrupt.
The feds want to fund a war? They “print” more cash to do it. It’s not borrowed. It’s literally created out of thin air with the click of a keyboard.
Federal governments will always expand without ceasing. It’s because they can create money at will.
Will they spend money in the right place is the question? You can use unlimited money to fund lots of destructive activities, or you can use this ability to have healthcare for all and technology.
This is in the US of course. Canada does not have the same population and the same decisions to make. But its basically the same. A federal government that has “printing presses” does not need to collect taxes. Full stop.
Phantom..you mistake what I sayas disagreement with you, I agree wholeheartedly with 95%…there is a lot of room for cuts, a lot of duplication of effort, a lot of political appointees creating fifdoms and more than a lot of wholely unnecessary programs brought in by the various social engineers the liebrals appointed to ‘fix’ problems that didn’t exist except in the minds of those who screamed that they weren’t being given enough for nothing and were afraid they might actually have to work for a living…
What I take umbrage at and am insulted by is the accusation that every single government employee sits around doing nothing all day then retires with a free pension…I paid for mine both in the military and as a public employee and I worked for my money…yes, it was ‘taxpayer’s money’ but I paid my taxes too regardless if anyone thinks it counts and I’d gladly take a 30% pay cut if the rest was tax free.
People that are so proud of their private sector jobs and think that somehow gives them a free rein to attack other people just trying to do their job and keep a little of what they worked for at the end of the day should realize that all of their wages come from other people buying whatever it is their company sells, including the public sector workers..so in effect, they’re partially paid with tax money as well.
Another thing to remember is that the public service union doesn’t speak for every single one of it’s members…most employees that I know are strong Harper supporters but the liebral government of the day created the first public sector union, the ndp took it over later and it’s almost impossible to change unions thanks to the labour laws of this country.
None pay nearly enough; which is why we remain on the precipice of financial systems’ collapse~
From Roger Mitchell’s site:
“DS – In the real world, however, the global bond market is already rumbling — and around the corner, a fiscal conflagration surely lies.”
“Fiscal conflagration.” Believe it or not, this blog post cut out most of his extravagant language. It went on and on, with each colorful phase adding to the assurance he is clueless. Anyway, he ends with the typical debt-hawk non-prediction, prediction: “Around the corner.” You may add this to “soon,” “one day,” “someday,” “eventually” “ticking time bomb,” “unsustainable,” “over time,” “children and grandchildren” and all the other indefinite prophesies.
Perhaps most amazing, is that so many famous pundits all write the same, apocalyptic drivel, over and over again, and the media keep printing it. How many times can the preachers predict the same end of the world, before the congregations figure out these guys are charlatans?”
Sorry to point it out. You may now add “on the precipice” to the list.
Best explanation for this topic:
“In 1971, the U.S. went off the gold standard, and became “Monetarily Sovereign,” which created two basic questions:
1. How much can a Monetarily Sovereign government deficit spend?
2. How much should a Monetarily Sovereign government deficit spend?
The answer to #1 is: An infinite amount. That is what “Monetarily Sovereign” means. The federal government’s “printing presses” are limitless. They can create endless dollars to pay endless bills and to service endless borrowing. Unlike state and local governments, the federal government never can run short of money. That’s why federal taxes and borrowing, which are relics of the gold standard, don’t pay for federal spending.
The answer to #2 is: Enough to grow the economy but not enough to cause excessive inflation. (A little inflation is considered desirable.) Deficit spending is the government’s process for adding dollars to the economy. Money is the lifeblood of an economy; a growing economy requires a growing supply of money. Federal deficit spending is a compromise. Too little and we have recession or depression. Too much and we have excessive inflation.
Today, lack of growth, not excessive inflation, is our major problem, so we should increase deficits to stimulate growth. If excessive inflation were to emerge, we will have two methods to control it:
1. We can reduce federal deficits and/or
2. We can raise interest rates to increase the value of the dollar.
Both would reduce inflation, though historically, reduced deficit spending has caused recessions, while increased interest rates have not. Which is the better choice?
This is a foolish time to focus on preventing excessive inflation, when our urgent need is to grow the economy.”
PS – The price of oil is now the main driver of inflation.
Much of the explanation lies in the ability of the US taxpayer to write off mortgage interest against income tax.
That, of course, encourages people to build as expensive of a house as they can build, so they can get a bigger tax writeoff.
let’s not even start on why someone making $10/hour should be ‘entitled’ to a $150,000 mortgage and the banks in the US had to be forced to find ways to give them one…it makes me nauseous. The underlying reason for the mortgage collapse there was that the democrats under clinton decreed that the banksweren’t giving enough mortgages to ‘underprivilged’ groups and somehow adopted the belief that everyone should have a RIGHT to own a house, regardless if they had the means to pay for one or not and then when it came time to renew those mortgages the only way for them to cover it was by inflating the value of those houses and borrowing against that…I said it would blow up 10 years ago and it did…surprise, surprise..but everyone else, including a lot up here, was too busy gloating over how much ‘more’ their house was suddenly worth now and borroing against that to buy new suv’s and inground pools…the ride had to stop eventually and it did…but now people still expect to get $200,000 for a 3 bedroom bungalow because that’s what they paid for it…when it’s worth $70,000…maybe.
Some very good points were made, now you have to excuse me because I’m not the most educated man around. However I love my country and we need to demand better management of this country. Myself and some others had composed some reform ideas for government spending/generating income.
1.) drop income tax to 10% for everyone, NO write offs, no tax shelters, no political tax shelters…..EVERYONE PAYS.
2.) raise the GST to 10% on EVERYTHING, NO exceptions.
3.) Make all the provinces responsible for their spending to income ratio. (Quebec & Ontario need to pull up their socks)
4.) All MP’s / MLA’s pay & expenditures to be made more conservative & open to public scrutiny as well as their severance packages.
I had brought this to the attention of my MP, back then and was told it would eliminate our nations DEBT in one decade. BUT would not be accepted by our government, because it was TOO SIMPLE AND LOGICAL.
Thank you .
well…call me old fashioned too but that’s a pretty good place to start…do it right and the GST could be cut too.
the original 17% flat tax of a few years ago would have been good since the increased personal exemptions that came with it would have guaranteed that lower income workers still wouldn’t be taxed…of course the liebrals used that to win an election by completely misrepresenting it to people that never paid taxes, weren’t in any danger of paying taxes under the new plan and apparently couldn’t count and since the ‘tax cut’ that didn’t do them any good anyway came with a corresponding drop in the value of deductions for personal exemptions, CPP, EI and other payments…that ended up with me and anyone else that made enough to get out of the bottom bracket paying more than before…I can’t afford another liebral style ‘tax cut’…the flat tax works for me though.
Before we can decide who should be taxed at what rate, we need to first decide where the tax dollars collected are to be spent. For example, if the goal is to reduce the deficit through tax dollars then taxing the poor more isn’t the best solution. Obviously, based on a tax percentage of income, it will take the poor a considerably longer time to make an impact. Also, making the poor poorer will do nothing in the way of reducing crime as a portion of our tax dollars goes to policing and maintaining correctional facilities.
Something else to consider is that it is not only the perpetually poor (this demographic is smaller than the media and government would have you believe) that comprise the poverty income bracket, many if not most, are students working part-time or those entering the workforce for the first time. A large percentage of those in the income poverty bracket are visitors just passing through.
Those that stay longer are comprised of the disabled, many of whom have worked and payed taxes their entire lives and now suffer age and/or occupation related disabilities. And of course there are those who simply do not want to work or can not hold down a job for any length of time due to mental health issues, or addictions.
I think this previous breakdown of income and tax levels by John deserves re-posting.
The fairest and most effective way to reduce taxes is to reduce the size of government and the bureaucracy that goes with it.
$1-20k were 35.46% of the people who filed returns, making an average $10,708.02 each, (9% of the money made), paying 1% of the total taxes, and living off an average $10,613.69.
$20-40k were 25.89% of the people who filed returns, making an average $29,600.18 each, (19% of the money made), paying 10% of the total taxes, and living off an average $27,964.10
$40-80k were 25.32% of the people who filed returns, making an average $55,950.01 each, (35% of the money made), paying 33% of the total taxes, and living off an average $50,234.89
$80-150k were 8.15% of the people who filed returns, making an average $101,766.50 each, (20% of the money made), paying 26% of the total taxes, and living off an average $87,463.73
$150-250k were 1.36% of the people who filed returns, making an average $185,384.80 each, (6% of the money made), paying 10% of the total taxes, and living off an average $153,273.29
$250k+ were 0.75% of the people who filed returns, making an average $602,218.79 each, (11% of the money made), paying 21% of the total taxes, and living off an average $477,036.64

Phantom – Right on, there is huge waste in public schools. The only thing I would add, is give the money directly to the parent as a voucher, and let them choose the school.
Awwww crap … I spent the first 45 years of my life trying to get rich …. only to have my work’s reward stolen in ever increasing amounts.
For the last 15 … I have been studiously trying to be successfully poor…. now you want to get them to go after me on the back end too?
8!tch!! :p
Bemused>
Some good comments and an interesting perspective.
Bemused: “What I take umbrage at and am insulted by is the accusation that every single government employee sits around doing nothing all day then retires with a free pension.”
Well, I agree with you. Obviously, not -all- public employees are layabouts, just as not -all- private ones are supermen. Most people are just getting the job done. Didn’t mean to be insulting, not trying to shut you down or anything.
Its just that many, many public employees are working diligently at jobs of very questionable utility, or which should not be done at all. Like the Human Rights Commission employees who diligently and efficiently processed the complaints against Steyn and Levant. Or the OPP enforcing two tiers of policing in Caledonia, one tier for Indians and the other tier for everybody else. Adscam? OHIP? Gun registry? Schools? Its a long list of just the big items, never mind the niggly little inspection/regulation every day cr@p that eats the life out of our economy.
Those people should not be doing those jobs, well or badly. We are rapidly approaching the point in this country where the only moral defense many of these public employees have is “I was just following orders.”
I think its evil that so many people are getting stuck in that situation, and I’m sure you do too. We should be bending our efforts toward seeing that it stops.
What, no refrains of “no representation without taxation”? Mandate a minimum of income paid in taxes (voluntarily, if someone is below the poverty level) at around 2% of national income, so that before you can help decide the government you actually have to be paying for it.
We’re well into the third generation of ‘citizens’ that have been told since birth that the government is responsible for their existence and too many lawyers are making a fortune ensuring that none of them go without satellite tv, smokes and beer…even if they refuse to take a job…it’s become a ‘human right’ to have a cellphone, thanks to truedough and his followers handing the country’s future to people that didn’t earn any of it and whose only contribution to society is breeding another generation of parasites…or sending away for more to join them.
Now the ‘students’ are demanding that ‘the government’ pay for their tuition for degrees that have the sole purpose of placing them in positions to continue the handouts and find new ones while they head off to florida or vegas for a vacation rather than take a job to offset their own costs.
There is no such thing as ‘government money’ it comes from taxes, taxes paid by consumers…corporations don’t pay any taxes, everything they ‘pay’ comes out of the price people pay for their goods and services..their taxes go up and prices go up to cover it..it just sounds good to the moonbats to ‘tax the rich corporations’…then they complain that their chips and pop cost more…and scream for useless registries and more ‘programs’ to prevent crime when the only way to stop it is to prevent those who would complete a criminal act from being in a position to do so…the moonbats would have the justice system transferred to fisheries because to them it’s ‘catch and release’
