    THAT’S what I’m saying Davenport. You want to give the reins of the country to this party, with Iggy at the helm, and even with the whole Canadian media establishment 100% in the tank for him, the Liberal “brain trust” STILL CAN’T SET UP A FRICKIN’ PHOTO OP FOR THE GUY.
    I mean, who dressed this man? Collared shirt, blue sweater and… work vest? Pristine, never worn outside work vest too. Do they not remember John F-in’ Kerry and his Dickeys jacket? Do they not remember the vast mockery Kerry earned from that?
    Then the outfit isn’t bad enough, they take him to a hardware store. From that picture, three things are evident to me.
    1. This man has -zero- upper body strength. Two hands to hold up a maul? Lame.
    2. This man has never split a piece of firewood in his entire life, or if he did its a miracle he didn’t cut off a limb.
    3. He can’t hold his face still. Every picture is a caricature, every expression a grimace. That’s no big deal in a teacher, its a bad thing in the leader of a whole freakin’ country.
    His publicity people are -imbeciles-. It isn’t just that they’re transparently trying to package Ignatief as something he’s not (= lying), they’re CRAP at it. This man can’t act. Can’t sing and dance. He’s Mr. Earnest Endeavor. He needs to be seen pondering the plight of the peasantry in his office surrounded by books, in his tweedy jacket with the elbow patches. Instead, they consistently put him in situations where he looks a complete fool.
    Imagine them running our monetary policy, Davenport.

  12. Phantom, you’re right about his total lack of upper body strength. I’d love to see him try to split a log as I suspect this is something he’s never considered doing. You’d think his image consultants would have suggested a few months of working out on weights before an election.

  26. Carl, I’ve been trying to find the video of Ignatieff channeling Springsteen. VERY awkward. Seems to me that *Springsteen* went all out for John Kerry, too. Ignatieff seems to forget where he is. Or maybe he’s exhausted and tapped out.

    Sheila Fraser blasted the federal government, run by the Liberals at the time, for exceeding its estimated budget, saying that by the time the smoke cleared and all gun owners and their guns were registered, the program would have cost taxpayers more than $1 billion. Opposition critics were quick to point out that figure is 500 times more than the original $2-million estimate.
