Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What They Say About SDA
"Smalldeadanimals doesn't speak for the people of Saskatchewan" - Former Sask Premier Lorne Calvert
"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
But its explosion will release natural CO2 and not that nasty manmade stuff!
If that thing blows it’ll make Mt. St Helen’s look like a burp. Scary.
On the other hand, a world-wide dust cloud should slow down the Global Warmening…
If it blew what would we lose? A few hundred Mormons, a few thousand head of cattle and a Ted Kaczinski or two. In other words, the entire population on Montana, Idaho and Wyoming combined.
Thanks a lot for bringing that up, Kate.
By the end of the day McGuinty will be drafting legislation and shelling out study grants so the enviro-parasites can study the potential effects of an eruption on the life-cycle of the liver-lipped chub-sucker.
Thankfully it probably is nothing, at least for several millenia. Doing the math on the pattern of eruptions shows this volcanoe blows about every 700,000 years. Since the last eruption was 642,000 years ago, we should be good for about another 58,000 years, give or take a couple of millenia. I would not want to be a resident of North America when that bad boy blows.
I vote to have a sacrifice at the foot of the volcano to appease Gaia…Someone fire up Air Force One and tell Obama he’s wanted by admiring high school kids in Montana for a speech that would be without a press scrub afterwards…
Obama stopped the oceans from rising, so a supervolcano stoppage should be a walk in the park (Yellowstone)!
See? Global Warming is even making lava hotter! Earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, radiation – is there nothing that Global Warming can’t cause?
Looking at the trend, it should blow again sometime in the next 16,000 years. WE MUST DO SOMETHING!!!!! I wonder if I can make a killing selling lava credits?
We won’t have to wait for the asteroid anymore. Not if the volcano is imminent.
So who looks silly now?

We need a Lava Czar and…face east and worship Pachamama.
Saying that there shouldn’t be any eruptions for a few millennium is as reassuring as a Manitoban being told they are on a 100 year flood plain but don’t worry ’cause that flood was a few years ago and you have 84 more years.
When dealing with Ma Nature it is best not to try and second guess the old gal or take anything for granted.
I’m really frightened. It could blow in 10,000 years. By that time I might have been re-incarnated as a mountain lion or a pine beetle. By the time it blows, according to the greenies, human life will probably have disappeared from the earth.
I too heard it erupts about every 10,000 years.
And the last eruption was 10,000 years ago.
Run away, run away.
Why not release the pressure?
Bring over those Chinese bombers….

I don’t think you understand how these trends work …
“Gargantuan”. You know, I’ve always liked that word “gargantuan”, I so rarely have the opportunity to use it in a sentence.
Yeah … but, back then they hadn’t discovered the “throw the virgin into the volcano” technology. All that’s needed now, to nip this thing in the bud, is a virgin and a virgin delivery system (something that will get her 1 to 10 miles under the surface).
