  1. ANY advert anywhere will show Canada’s natural beauty. We should be proud of it. If Harper wishes to showcase it, so be it. I’d rather look on the beauty of Lake Louise than some fat union huckster screaming how much he loves Layton.

  2. Thank-you EBD for speculating that I might look like that extraordinary lady in this ad. It is not me but you made my day by suggesting that it could be!

  3. Re the comments near the start about the fighters escorting the airliner, flights bringing troops home from Afghanistan are met as they enter Canadian airspace and escorted to their destination. It has quite an effect on the troops.
This may be one of these missions.

  4. Good Script.. Good Video, but please.. . “The voice” needs real Compassion & depth.. This from the Country of Lorne Green.

  5. The MSM has truly lost it:
Tories accused of following Tea Partier’s script in new ad

    ad/article1972359/
Too bad they don’t bother to post the ad they say is plaigiarized. Just what doesn’t “threaten to undermine” the Tory campaign, you know, the one where they going to win the election easily.
Well, of course, being proud of Canada is soo Tea Partyish, so mean spirited and therefore violent.
The headline should be “Conservatives promote violence in new ad.”

  6. LOL!! That one is guaranteed to backfire on the Libs. The theme that ties those two vids together is pride in one’s country – aka patriotism. Libs are against that, of course. They think they’ve found some horrific scandal. But Iggy is a patriotic Canadian, you know.

  7. I love the ad, there are Closet Canadians who have looking for a chance to stand up and show our pride, the olympics gave us a chance and now this. Right on!!!
    Canadian EH!

  8. The audio is, apparently, from Harper’s speech on the 5th anniversary of his election as prime minister.
Of course that is not obvious because the press completely ignored this brilliant and visionary speech from January 25, 2011. I predict it will be effective for the same reason the supposed “attack” ads with Ignatieff’s own words were effective; Canadian’s will be hearing the words for the first time.
The MSM are completely in the bag for the Liberals.

  9. But you are supposed to hate your country, aren’t you?
It’s in the liberal self loathing handbook!

  10. Journalists today don’t even try to hide their left bias. We know it, they know it, their editors know it, so they have completely given up the charade of an unbiased media.

  11. Wasn’t it the Lieberals who wrapped themselves in the flag and claimed a monopoly on Canadian values – every time they were in a tight corner?

  12. The ad is a substance-free blank slate for viewers to project what they want to see. In that sense it is perfect. Kate will see ‘nanny-free’, in spite of the overwhelming evidence.
