I am curious to know which ad agency put this together. I will bet you that it’s the same agency that’s been doing the Canadian Forces TV spots recently. There is something about this add and the Forces ads that grabs one’s attention and kicks one in the ass. Very good stuff.

The ad is good but what I want to hear from PMSH is more on the Green Shaft being promoted by Ignatieff – especially out West.
Watch the 0:30-0:35 part where the jets fly over escorting that plane. I don’t why, but part sends a tingle down my spine. They need to play this ad EVERYWHERE.

The reason both the Forces ads and this one appeal to a base nature. We want to be proud of our country. In fact we look for reasons to be proud. Think back to the Olympics!
With the playoffs starting soon, this will be played a lot to a key audience…A real winner.
It does resemble the Forces ads like someone here mentioned…Very Patriotic and proud.
BTW, This is not the only ‘positive’ Con ad out there; there is at least another one focusing on Harper being a hard working Patriot…Another good one.

an advert focusing on transcendant values…the stuff you find difficult to put into words…reflecting the sense you have that people and their country can reflect the, as best we know, absolute moral values of good citizenship and good standing in the commonwealth of nations..
best PM we’ve been fortunate to have in many a decade…and when i compare PMSH to those bums who preceded him (none of whom fit,if he were so inclined to possess one, to carry his moleskin notebook)i find myself reaching for my non-existent browning automatic whoopee cushion or hand buzzer…
PMSH is showing his fellow countrymen that the nation state is not dead by a long chalk.
Ads like these probably won’t strike a chord in the lefties though. They are bred to be ashamed of living in a prosperous first world nation. They have no pride or patriotism since they have been indoctrinated in the cult of multiculturalism. That is why they want to destroy Canada and make it a poverty stricken dump.

It’s very ‘nice’. however, it’s not ‘striking a chord’ with this conservative. . You can’t be proud of ‘thinking’ the best of yourself- you have to know the difference and strive for the good. We don’t do that. Not in the gov’t funded schools, not in the gov’t funded health system, and not in the gov’t funded ‘human rights’ ridiculousness. I’m waiting for that chord to play that resonates with reality – Canadians are patting themselves on the back all the way to nothing. And no-one will be there to congratulate them.
But it’s very nice. In highschool I would have been misty eyed…

I may at times find myself governed by politicians I disagree with, that I may not aIways admire and respect, but that in no way diminishes my love for this place, this land, this geography, this Canada, it’s potential, it’s history, it’s warts and flaws, it’s various regions and peoples of all origins – yet all Canadians.
Not hyphenated, not conditional – but straight out, full bore, balls ahead proud, and proudly Canadian.
For the inevitable lepton libranoids who will undoubtedly chime in with “ooh. . . to American-ish. . . yuckee! ”
Remember this, that in the debates before Paul Martin lost the government, first with his ‘men with guns, in the streets’ then in that one debate, Mr. Dithers, wrapped in his mind’s-eye version of the Cone of Canadianism, challenged Harper with the stirring issues-based question: “Mr. Harper, do YOU love this country? Do YOU love Canada?”

This ad gets my vote. It makes me feel proud, proud of my country and proud of PMSH who represents us on the world and national stages. This should be played everywhere in Canada during this election: everyday. We have a proud and long heritage of all that PMSH addresses in this ad; the troika have painted us as wimpy and childish; our heritage is the opposite. Our pioneers were giants and the Greatest Generation gave us a 24 carat gold example of how to behave like adults. Bravo to the producers and Bravo to PMSH who speaks from his heart.
A “two thumbs up” from this reader not to far south of the 49th. My best wishes go out to Mr Harper.

A very tasteful ad, but we’d prefer to hear PMSH speaking up on the Lieberal’s mission regarding Cap and Trade.
Is there anything out there on Iggy’s conversation at Timmie’s with the two St. John fellows who questioned him on kneecapping the oil sands? We just caught it on a CBC Radio hourly news sound bite, and Iggy’s mumbled answers couldn’t be understood.
One of the fellows pointed out to Iggy that on a Sunday evening the St. John airport was filled with workers heading back to their jobs in the oil patch.
Yes, CBC Radio reporting on an Iggy gotcha moment – imagine they’ve buried it by now.

What I’ve seen so far is either syrupy pap or retreads from 50 years ago. I’ve never not voted before and I won’t refuse to exercise my franchise this time, but I’m seriously considering writing in big letters “NONE OF THE ABOVE!” across the ballot. Our political class have become wimps. Afraid to take a stand on anything.

Good ad, but they could have done a much better job with the audio of Harper’s voice. Sounds like he is talking through a phone.
It’s a *great* ad. I hope the Conservatives air it far and wide, especially during playoff games a week or so before the election.
It really goes into overdrive when the words “honourable in our dealings” are juxtaposed with that woman’s remarkable face.

Hmmmm. What’s wrong with taking a stand prior to getting into power? Let the Canadian people decide. I’d have much more respect for that approach than I would be keeping their intentions under wraps until they get into power. If it’s what Canadians want, they’ll win. If it isn’t what Canadians want, then its dirty politics.
