  1. Under the thumb of “Sort of Jews“:
“A report published by a British magazine on Tuesday said the WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, suggested that British journalists, including the editor of The Guardian, were engaged in a Jewish-led conspiracy to smear his organization. His remarks appeared in the magazine Private Eye, in an article by its editor, Ian Hislop, who outlined a rambling phone call that Mr. Assange made on Feb. 16 to complain about the coverage of WikiLeaks.”
    (…)
“The Private Eye article quoted Mr. Assange as saying the conspiracy was led by The Guardian and included the newspaper’s editor, Alan Rusbridger, and investigations editor, David Leigh, as well as John Kampfner, a prominent London journalist who recently reviewed two books about WikiLeaks for The Sunday Times of London.
“When Mr. Hislop pointed out that Mr. Rusbridger was not Jewish, Mr. Assange countered that The Guardian’s editor was ‘sort of Jewish’ because he and Mr. Leigh, who is Jewish, were brothers-in-law. Later, the article recounted, Mr. Assange asked Mr. Hislop to “forget the Jewish thing…”

  2. Thanks for that, subversible. Incredible.
    From the NP link:
“For months, the Toronto Community Housing Corporation has been spoken of in hushed tones as the likely source of the city’s next spending scandal, and Auditor-General Jeffrey Griffiths’ report on procurement and staff spending policies, released Monday, did not disappoint on that front. On every other front, it’s not just very bad — it’s very bad in precisely the sort of cartoonish way Rob Ford has painted City Hall as a whole.
“A ‘divisional planning meeting’ for eight employees held ‘at a local spa,’ including ‘a three-course lunch, pedicures, manicures and water therapy services,’ for a total cost of $1,925? You couldn’t make that up. It would be an outrageous expenditure for any taxpayer-funded organization, but for one dedicated to housing Toronto’s low-income community, one constantly under the gun on everything from repairs backlogs to unjust evictions and bedbugs? It’s plutocratic. It’s vile.”
    …and from the Star report:
“The seven citizen members of the Toronto Community Housing board of directors have openly defied Mayor Rob Ford’s call for their resignation, issuing a statement on Tuesday…”
    (…)
“’The mayor has asked us through the media to resign. We would ask the mayor to document his reasons why private citizens who have volunteered their time because they believe in giving back should be replaced…”
    Um, because you’re extravagant parasites?

  3. EBD the problem with extravagant parasites is that they are not able to see past their magnificent sacrifices on behalf of the little people to recognize themselves as the pustular lowlife specimens they in reality are…. I think we need more Dorion Gray mirrors, just so they can see themselves as we see them.

  4. It’s what Mr. Ford spoke of during the election run up. Corruption in City Hall and it’s designates. Let’s hope they’re not in some kind of Union that will defend them.

As Islam makes its bloody transition to modernity, the West does well to remember its own.

    Dear Roger,
In the second half of your reply to my letter you, as you put it, get to the “uncomfortable part.” Your first question — “is there a moderate Islam?” — is the premise, the foundational question, of the questions that follow.

  8. From National Post article on the spending of the TCHC:
“A ‘divisional planning meeting’ for eight employees held ‘at a local spa,’ including ‘a three-course lunch, pedicures, manicures and water therapy services,’ for a total cost of $1,925? You couldn’t make that up. It would be an outrageous expenditure for any taxpayer-funded organization, but for one dedicated to housing Toronto’s low-income community, one constantly under the gun on everything from repairs backlogs to unjust evictions and bedbugs? It’s plutocratic. It’s vile.”
Flashbacks to the expenditures of certain groups in developing countries on the largess of North American “partnerships,” designated to help the poor. Very much a “we-them” scenario, as in “They” get to do these things because they’re rich, so “we” should get to do these things too.”
The TCHC CEO, Nakamura, and its Chairman, David Mitchell, both say they feel “betrayed” by the report.
    Betrayed?????
The Toronto taxpayer feels betrayed. The people who most need public housing should feel betrayed. But Nakamura and Mitchell?
Give me a break. “Betrayed” is not an appropriate response from Nakamura and Mitchell. “Ashamed” would be more like it.

“With Harper 16 points up in poll, do Liberals need ‘a head transplant’?”
    1. By the numbers. Stephen Harper’s Conservatives are 16 points ahead of Michael Ignatieff’s Liberals, according to a new poll – a huge lead that puts the Tories close to winning majority government and leaves some Grits reeling.
“The party feels like it is on the waiting list for a head transplant,” one senior Liberal MP remarked after seeing the results of the latest Ipsos Reid survey. “Folks are saying if Ignatieff can’t get any traction even with Oda and the charges, the public must have tuned him out.”

“Wisconsin Republican Threatened With Death By Wisconsin Democrat Speaks Out
Two H/Ts go out on this one. First Jim Hoft, who drew my attention to the original story yesterday. As hard it is to believe, it is true, a Wisconsin Democrat threatens a Republican legislator with “You’re f***in dead.” The details on the threat are below the fold. More importantly Hot Air points to an interview on Fox this morning with the Republican woman who was threatened with death. “Yes, I felt intimidated.
The back story first, from my original source, Gateway Pundit …
Friday morning after the Assembly vote to approve Governor Scott Walker’s budget repair bill Democrat State Rep. Gordon Hintz turned to Republican Rep. Michelle Litjens and said:“You are F***king dead!””

“Video: Wisconsin Dem intervenes to protect GOP senator threatened by mob
You have to see it to believe it. The clip is long and the key moment doesn’t come until 2:50 in, but you won’t be able to look away. The savior here, in the orange union t-shirt and sportsjacket, is Democratic Rep. Brett Hulsey; behind him, with white hair and glasses, is Republican Sen. Glenn Grothman. Watch and try to imagine what might have happened had Hulsey not been there. Even some of the protesters are sufficiently alarmed to start a chant of “peace-ful” to calm the more unruly ones down.
Ann Althouse, who lives in Wisconsin and has been covering the protests since they began, reports tonight that her husband just got back from the statehouse with video of at least one person who seems to have lost his mind — either from sleep deprivation or who knows what else. Quote: “Someone needs to go around to everyone who is still there and check them for mental stability.” If you want to know why Michelle Litjens and other Republicans need a police escort around the Capitol, now you know. Ron, you ought to see the gnashing of teeth and wringing of hands by folks like Paul Wells over the concept of politicians talking directly to the public via apps like Twitter, Facebook etc.
The very idea that they are being bypassed and can longer filter the content so us plebes will be able to understand it better, is driving them right around the bend.
A double edged weapon of course. Any pol that is going to make use of Twitter or Facebook, had better make sure they review each and every comment before they hit “OK”.

  15. Christians, Sikhs, Hindus and other religious minorities still living in that cauldron of intolerance called by its founders “the land of the pure” (ie. Pakistan) seriously need to reconsider where they want to live. Neighbouring India may not be a paragon of tolerance either, but it is a real democracy, with a growing economy and generally better treatment of minorities.

  16. The Hill reported that the newly-elected congresswoman asked NASA officials whether the Mars Pathfinder photographed the American flag astronaut Neil Armstrong had planted on the surface of Mars. When it was pointed out that the flag in question was on the moon, not Mars, Jackson Lee cited bigotry. “You thought you could have fun with a black woman member of the Science Committee,” her then chief of staff wrote in a letter to the editor.

Sask. spending $30M on nuclear research centre
The Saskatchewan government will spend $30 million to create a new nuclear research centre at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.
The money, to be spent over seven years, will be used to expand nuclear medicine but also materials science and small reactor design, Premier Brad Wall said in a news release.

  19. I’m late to the party, so I’ve cross-posted(from March 1 “The Tolerant Left”comments section) my responce to Oz’s accusation of me being a “Bigot” and Ed’s accusation of me being an “Idiot”.
Sorry if this is the wrong venue:(
“KMA, you bigot.” Oz March 1 1:04
“Your entire rant consists of (very obvious)generational envy, and sour grapes in general.
Pretty idiotic to paint an entire generation with such a wide brush.” Ed March 1 1:48
    Okay Oz & Ed Ellison
I could actually go on a “rant” reading your comments towards me, but I won’t because this isn’t ‘Jersey Shore’. If you can put aside being ‘offended’ for a few moments we could actually discuss RHTT’s comments and my thoughts on it.
I trust you both can do that, so I’ll quickly rebut a few of your comments.
First, I’m from Alberta Oz, and you know damn well that I agree with you on transfer payments and other Federal methods of transferring wealth from the west; but, these issues are besides the point being discussed.
Secondly, we are discussing a broad subject (voting demographics and generations) so people are necessarily “painted with a broad brush” for conversations sake. I’m sick and tired of having to put a disclaimer like “not all women, or Muslims, or public sector workers, or teachers, or boomers,” and so on and so on. Your personal evidence is anecdotal and is not relevant to the broader discussion.
Third, and most importantly, I’m going to elaborate on my accusation of generational hypocrisy by the Boomer generation. As far as I can tell, it’s okay for all of us to laugh, and snicker at the misfortune of those that have spent considerable money on Solar panels on the false promise the government will reimburse them; and, it’s fair game to criticize that person when they feel they’ve done their part and “to hell” with the budget, practicality or the market. But, when those same critics themselves have been HAD by a much bigger and more devious ponzi scheme (Cpp for example), some of them claim “I’ve paid my share” and to hell with the budget, practicality, the market or the future. This is the same as the Medi-cade example I mentioned before, and the Tea Partiers that are now voting GOP to save their entitlements.
We’ve all been “HAD” Oz; the question is will your generation accept this, or will they try and keep the ponzi gravy train going just a bit longer, or if those younger generations devise a way to make the train stop. And now that I think of it, it’s you(Oz) and Ed who have “generational envy”, because you’re upset that I might suggest thet you WON’T GET THE BENEFITS YOUR PARENTS RECEIVED THAT YOU”VE BEEN PAYING FOR! And, they caused socialism and all that stuff which you (Oz) apparently blame the ‘Greatest Generation’ for. Funny, I don’t hear ANYONE but Boomers claiming that Boomers are “great” hmmm?
Fourth, criticism of my generation and other generations is expected; but in this case, THIS discussion is specifically about the Boomers, and their futures (economically and politically). I don’t claim my generation better or worse than any other, but our ‘issues’ for the most part are different than those of the Boomers, and should and will be addressed at the appropriate time(perhaps another thread). You guys can call names, and stomp your feet, but these issues are real and will be addressed.
Finally, understand that I don’t support the Left and their ‘ageism’ tactic; but, I recognize it as a legitimate issue that will be dealt with as RHTT tries to point out. Speaking from a purely political point of view, a ‘political correction’(similar to a market correction) will be necessary to recessitate the true conservative ideals that RHTT alludes to. Politically speaking, as Boomers become more dependent on the State they will become political dead-weight for conservatives that have balanced budgets, and smaller government in mind. Disagree if you will, but please spare me the accusations of “bigotry” and “idiocy”, because my thoughts on this are well thought-out, not a “rant”, and completely valid.
