  1. Now I understand. CCW is NOT allowed in Wisconsin, thus explaining the free reign of union thugs to behave as violently as they wish.
Coincidentally, Illinois is the only other state to have no CCW provision. Isn’t that where the Democrat senators are hiding out?

  2. The really odd thing is that the MSM frets about conservative violence and it’s always the lefties who resort to it. Amazing.

  3. YOU CAN SEE WHY TEA PARTY PROTESTERS WORRY THE COPS MIGHT TAKE SIDES: L.A. Police Union Urges Members to ‘Stand in Solidarity’ with SEIU and MoveOn.Org.
As is pointed out at the link, all public unions need to go. The conflict of interest could not be more direct.

  4. Police unions are one of the best arguments against gun control that can be made. Also against gun registries, gun licenses, gun permits, mandatory records of gun sales, gun inspection regulations…
…none of which even occur to the liberal mind until the jackboot kicks in their front door at 3AM…

  5. Black Mamba, you got that right. A union has tried a few times to organize our municipality’s outside workers and failed to get any support.

  6. Was Lara Logan gang-raped? CBS News called it ““a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating.” Sexual assault can include rape, but rape is generally understood to mean penetration and nothing I have read so far suggests that happened.
What Logan went through is tragic, of course, but “gang-rape” seems a bit misleading. Am I way off on this?

  7. That’s interesting. Earlier to day I was thinking Walker better clear out those occupiers at the Wisconsin capitol; had better not allow that situation to fester. I wuz thinking he should send in the COPS until it suddenly hit me that cops aren’t gonna do that to their “brothers” and “sisters” in oppression.
Which reminds me: are we all aware that in Wisconsin’s effort to change the collective-bargaining parameters of public employees, they made an exception for police and fire fighters?
WHY?! Frankly, I’ve never bought this automatic HERO status for so-called “first responders” that came out of 9/11. This is one area where I feel far offside my conservative peers — this unwonted hero-worship of police for being police. I’m more in the Kathy Shaidle camp on that one, most days seeing cops as statist thugs. And don’t get me started on firefighters, the biggest trough-feeders in the system.

  8. ‘…cops as statist thugs.”
Agreed. The first rule of any state is to ensure that it can enforce its rule. That’s the role of the police with respect to the citizenry. Crime protection comes second, enforcing the power of the state always comes first, everywhere, all the time.
Ind: from the various accounts that have come it, it sounds like CBS was being more than a bit coy. After all, all these wonderful protesters for democracy can’t be a bunch of savage and brutal rapists, can they? Destroys the whole media mythology.

  9. I’ll never forget how the cops stood down during the fracas around the Ann Coulter speech in Ottawa (that didn’t happen). They let the student thugs do and say whatever, but when some of us in the crowd yelled back, they approached us and told us to tone it down.
It opened my eyes in a big way — I respect some cops but I couldn’t respect what they did that night. We had a right to hear that speech and they should have protected that right.

  10. As Caledonia continues to show us. The police are anything, but our friends. Particularly the people who they where originally paid to protect.
Its a sensitivity training World now for thugs.

  11. Me No Dhimmi Look at the bright side bad cops and firefighters do not survive as long as bad teachers.
I see your point but the professions that have to put it on the line should get some slack in my opinion.
If the police budget goes up and crime gets worse, someone gets canned. If the education budget keeps going up but your kids aren’t improving not much happens.
When I was a Prov. worker I had seniority rights. When I was a Fed. I didn’t. It does make a difference in attitude and at one time made a difference in promotion.

Yeah I bitterly recall the Police response to the armed home invasion I experienced….channel the “Pirates of Penzance.” First a perimenter…..

  13. Christie Blatchford on Caledonia’s fun Sunday this week.

Among other things, it has been revealed (in court no less) that the OPP were being directed in real-time by the DCE protesters. The protesters decided where the police line would be, when it would move forward, when it would move back, etc.
Read the article, it’ll blow your mind.
