  35. All the observant Christians I know have been horrified by Obama from virtually day one.
    This man’s very recent “conversion” to, apparently, Christianity seems as phony to me—and the other observant Christians I know—as everything else about this poseur.
    Relativism has really taken hold in Western societies: in the days when people understood the reality of this world—that there is good and evil, right and wrong—Obama’s lies and TRANSPARENT dissembling wouldn’t be so easily presented, by him and his henchpeople, as even a semblance of truth.

  38. I remember reading that when bambam was a community organizer everyone would ask him which church he belonged to. He figured it would be a good move so he went to the Wright congregation. I never got the impression that religion was very high on the reasons. This is the guy that steamrolled a woman to get his first seat. Rahm style.

  41. Speedy – well said and oh so true. The desire for and movement towards building a Utopia on earth is in itself evidence of the longing for heaven that is innate in each individual and is in fact an admission that the world & people are broken – that we have lost something we once had.
    I am so thankful that we have a God who became flesh and dwelt among us, who partook in our suffering in order to set us free and give us the strength through his spirit to not only pray but to use the gifts he has given us so that his will be done on earth as it is in heaven where there is no pain and suffering – where the lion lays down with the lamb.

I’m wondering who the pastor was that he met while community organizing that led him to Jesus Christ. I’m surprised he/she has not come forward to confirm his conversion or endorse his campaign.
    Me thinks he has fooled more sheeple with that quit picking on my faith bit.
    Time will tell with both Obama in 2012 and the MB gaining momentum and power in Egypt.

    The Obamessiah is a fairly good wordsmith, if his teleprompter’s handy, so now he’s using the Christian vernacular to see who he can lure into his web. It’s all about numbers and head counts and has nothing to do with grace or humility. I agree with lookout: His Christian protestations are insincere and, as Joe says, are a “cover for his advancing Islam around the world.”

If Harper was Roman Catholic like Chretien and Martin, but still pro-choice, pro-criminal, pro-‘progressive’ policies, pro-gay-marriage etc., etc., etc., he’d get a pass from both the media and the Catholic Church no matter how many prayer meetings he attended. It’s when a politician actually lives and acts according to his beliefs that he gets trounced on by the media.
    Everyone knows Obama’s just catering to the religioius half of America and doesn’t mean a word. Like Clinton and his Bible-carrying across the White House lawn. That’s why he gets a pass.     ’Remember he said, about Muslims in the USA: “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” Interesting . . . because, as we all know, Muslims get a free pass in the USA, by virtually all its institutions—the government, military, its schools, courts, the MSM, etc.—while it’s CHRISTIANS who are given a hard time. Where’s “Christian” Obama on this one?
    Taqiyya: “Taqiyya is a practice in Shia Islam whereby adherents may conceal their faith when they feel that they are under threat, persecution, or compulsion.” So, Obama would have no problem lying about this issue. As far as I’m concerned, he acts far more like a Muslim than a Christian. And, if he were a Christian, wouldn’t there be a fatwa against him for apostasy?
    IMO, this man is a deceiver and is just playing an evil game here. Shame on him—and shame on the complacent, who are being led like sheep—to the slaughter.

    Absolutely. Any mention of religion by politicians is severely frowned upon here in the Demented Dominion. People squirm uncomfortably if even the Lord’s Prayer is recited at a public function, they glower if a guy with a clerical collar is on the podium. Mention God and you are done like dinner.
    Well, except Islam and Sikhism, they get tolerated with some minor grumbling, magnanimous liberals make allowances for the ignorant superstitions of brown people. Its just one of the small sacrifices everyone has to make in a multi-culti utopia. White people however are expected to know better, by George!
    The only creed allowed to loudly proselytize in the public square these days is Atheism. It has been chosen by the cognoscenti (aka the cool kids) as the unofficial Official Creed of Canada, and has taken its place next to government paid health care on the plinth of holy Canadian Values(tm).
    People who go to a Christian church on Sundays don’t talk about it in public, in the same way that gun owners don’t talk about shooting. Conversely, atheists bray their convictions loudly to anyone who isn’t actually running away with their hands clapped over their ears, and can’t really be made to shut up about it.
    Its one of the major planks in the Hate America platform actually. Here in Canada the cool kids decided Christianity was uncool back in the 1970’s, and those d@mn Yankees have been ignoring them ever since. The one thing the cool kids can’t take is being ignored.
    That’s one reason they all love Barry too. When Barry gets up and talks about God, they know he’s lyin’. The cool kids love it when people lie for them.

Ann @ 8:52 – Harper would not get a pass from the Catholic Church, he would get a pass from various liberal new-age Catholics who don’t want to leave the Church because of its teachings, but want to change it to fit their personal moral code (i.e. Zero). Those and various priests, bishops and nuns who are trying to undermine Church teachings. God knows there are enough liberal churches out there that they could convert to.
