  4. That Question Period show was the most blatant Liberal love fest in recent history. Mark’s article and Charles’ interview with him were excellent. The SunTV News launch in March is not soon enough.

  6. I have to admit I watch that circle-jerk on CTV they call Question period quite often; most often it resembles what anyone can observe at any zoo – grooming behavior, where monkeys sit next to each other picking out lice from each other’s fur and munching same.
    Now I defy anyone to watch the next sad episode and not have that image come to mind.

  7. Really wonder what world the MSM lives in; where I live didn’t hear anyone discussing the tragedy of making the long form census voluntary. Not one mention of it. People here are concerned with more important things such as the price of gasoline and the idiocy of carbon taxes, there’s outrage over the BC HST and lots of grumbling that the asinine gun registry is still standing. The main thing people talk about is how traffic has gotten heavier and they had to wait through 2 lights to turn a week ago.
    Not watching TV I guess I missed the rioting in the streets in TO and carbacues that happened when the long form census was made voluntary.

  9. CTV and CBC have proven time and time again, they are not even worth the 2 minute chances I give them while I’m channel surfing….every single time I get angry and want to kick in the TV. I caught a couple minutes of that Lib Love Fest too and it was absolutely repulsive. Why on earth would any conservative westerner want to watch a whole episode of that crap?

  12. EBD, your post @ 1:10am got me thinking about something that happened today. I went out for lunch with two fellows I attended both high school and university with. Plus, the younger brother of one of them, who has lived in Arizona for many years and was up visiting so he joined us too.
    The topic eventually got around to the economy and the future. Without fail, these two fellows quickly shifted into their America bashing, blaming George W. Bush for all the problems the United States is now facing. They then added that “he’s so stupid”, “the Iraq War was clearly a big lie”, and “Republicans are so corrupt that Obama can’t do anything good, even though he tried”.
    I had bit my tongue until this point. Then I unleashed hell upon them. My major point sounded much like this: “Isn’t it interesting how Obama has carried on pretty much the same foreign policies as Bush, didn’t close Gitmo, has in fact increased Predator Drone strikes, but you two can’t bring yourselves to criticize him … not even one bit.”
    I wouldn’t say they were stunned, because we’ve had similar arguments before but it would be fair to say that I had caught them in a logic trap out of which they could not unravel themselves.
    The weird thing though is that one of the guys always refers to himself as a conservative. But I think he has been so brainwashed into the group think talking points spoon fed by the Canadian & American mainstream media that he has stopped questioning the massive internal conundrums in his arguments. Who does that remind me of? Oh yes, the 5 “journalists” recently on CTV!
    Don’t even get me started on what happened when I explain Johan Norberg’s recent article about the massive problems most all countries are facing with respect to debt. I pointed out that I simply don’t think there’ll be anymore money we can borrow to provide the benefits our parents expected and got, one of the fellows just said, “Well, we’ll just have to.” That sort of blind ignorance of basic economic facts is what propels fact-free discussions around the world today. 🙁

  13. I thought the best part was when they were explaining the prorogation thing. Craig Oliver was narrating and explained that the whole thing was because the Cons were avoiding defeat over the Afghan detainee issue ….. What??
    The coalition of idiots was formed because Harper was trying to take the party vote subsidy away. Of course the Libs and ND’s said it was because the Cons weren’t spending enough on stimulus. Either way it had sweet f all to do with the detainee issue.

  17. I hate to admit it, but I also watched the last part of CTV’s “Question Period”. Torture! I kept wondering if these “Liberal’, Separatist, NDP shills, Fife, Tabor, Galloway, Travesty, Owlie, were aware they were on TV. Disgraceful, desperation and complete distortions of reality, a shameful display of rehearsed propaganda. Those fools should be embarrassed calling themselves journalists. Trudeauvian cultists are such ugly, wretchedly stupid, horribly dishonest people.

    Travers is the worst . . . simply child like in his inability to assess politics. His barely contained hatred for PMSH leaks out and is evident for all to see.

  25. My health can’t take even a few seconds of shows like “Question Period”. It’s good that sane people keep an eye on these saboteurs—I’m just not able to be one of them. So, thanks to those who keep the shenanigans of our ruling classes in the spotlight.
    (In Ottawa a couple of years ago, I happened to see Robert Fife, a few feet away, right at the top of an escalator. Confession time: I have to admit that the thought of tripping him came to mind.)
    Over at Power Line today are three stories about the fall of our civilization: stories about corrupt judges, corrupt scientists, and corrupt, ignorant journalists. If there weren’t so many useful idiots out there, fewer people would be fooled by these charlatans.

  27. Funny how, when I first saw Kate’s post here, my first thought was: “When will Sun News ever hit the air?”…It’s when I listened to the Adler audio…What made me laugh was when Bono asked Adler the same and Adler said: “I was going to ask you the same!”…
    Anyway, SUN NEWS TV according to Charles Adler, is suppose to launch in March of this year. 2~3 long and agonizing months to go.
    I hope Fife, Travers, Galloway and my favorite: The beautiful and sexy Susan Delacourt from the Star are frequently asked to come and DEBATE (Something they have been foreign to since they been pretending to be journalists) on the SUN channel…Now that’s going to be pure comedy gold…IF they have the guts to attend. I won’t hold my breath.

  28. I refuse to watch the liberal love-in. That show should be called “Conservative Bash Hour”.. with Tabors smirks and laughs whenever negatives are plastered against the Conservative Government. Think Oliver is hoping with the help of a wheelchair – he can hold on until his liberal media can somehow get the party back in power so he can wheel himself into the senate. What a sad bunch. When Tabor was caught laughing with Sheila Copps about a conservative panelist – when they thought they were off air – that was enough for me of her liberal bias…. don’t turn them on – it only gives them positive ratings…

Trimming back superfluous and intrusive nanny state inquisition may seem “stupid” to the mindless droids of the Ottawa journolist, who support the Orwellian agenda of elitist liberal statism. but to the rest of us folks, who wear the occasional sneaker and blue jean ensemble, putting the government snoops at the census commissariat back in the box was a welcome breath of fresh air.

  33. I don’t have television at my house. So my entire exposure to CTV, CBC, and the rest of the Canadian media is when they do something like this, and it gets reported at SDA or FFoF, or someplace I frequent on the web.
    These “gotcha!” stories make up a fair percentage of blog traffic these days. Which continues to confirm my decision to SHUT OFF THE DAMN TV was a good one. A -really- good one.
    Now, if you hold your nose and go to Bourque or National News, you’ll see them trying to convince you that the -only- issue Canadians care about is the F-35 deal. The Cons want to spend a couple billion bucks on planes in 2016, and this is the biggest thing in Canadian politics.
    My conclusion is these MSM guys have a very low opinion of their fellow citizens.

    But anyways i could not believe what i saw, Not a word about the PM’s Cabinet change Nothing instead lead story about some BC Casino improper going ons, kept watching still no cab shuffle.

My best friends are dyed in the wool Liberals though he has gradually coming to the conservative side, must be an age thing with finally thinking with his brain. She never changes no matter what facts I present to her, she as a true liberal just gets emotional so we don’t talk politics.
    At our New Year’s dinner at their house she and I were talking about something and she stated, out of the blue, that I have a closed mind on politics, in this case supporting Rob Ford for mayor. I replied, let me get this straight, lefty Miller cost you over $8,000 on your new townhouse with his transfer tax, he has raised your house taxes 25%, charged you for garbage collection, a basic tax service and doubled your car licence fee and our city is a mess. Ford has repealed the licence tax and will have no house tax increase this year yet you voted for Smitherman who would have continued in the same trough as Miller and you say I have a closed mind. You, my dear friend, have just fulfilled the definition of insanity.
    Robert, I see this all the time with leftists. Even when it hits them directly in their wallets they never change.

    Sun TV cannot become reality soon enough. The likes of CBC and CTV inundate Canadians with a neverending and unchallenged barrage of Liberal cheerleading and Conservative bashing. While many of us can distinguish crap from reality when we hear it, a large portion of the population relies on the msm for information and wouldn’t recognize bullsh*t if they were waist-deep in the stuff. These same people trek to the polling stations with visions of Stephen Harper the control freak, Stephen Harper the big meanie and Stephen Harper with the “hidden agenda” being replayed over and over in their heads.
    The introduction of a new media outlet with a more realistic point of view is badly overdue. The Liberals, NDP and Bloc should be afraid … very afraid. Sure, they will still be able to rely on the CBC, etc. to provide cheerleading and mudslinging as required but, with a new team in town, the exaggerations, omissions and outright lies will be challenged and debunked in full view of all Canadians.

    You’re assuming Pat that these two hypothetical events will happen independent of each other. Consider the possibility of western Canadians and like minded Americans cooperating on such an endeavor. The problem for conservatives in the US is that they are not concentrated geographically as we are he in Canada. All of that said, I believe that revolution you speak of will likely be a political revolution with the possibility of states and provinces such as Alberta and Texas joining in some type of official alliance. Who knows though. It’s all speculation.

  43. I’m no Harper cheerleader but QP is usually pretty dependable, it’s all anti Harper all the time. We saw the same thing back in the ’90’s with the rise of the Reform Party. Journalists of the day routinely made absurd comments which were meant to deceive the uninformed.
    I’ve said before that the long form census issue was non existent, notwithstanding Fife and Travers. The Sri Lankan refugee issue resonates quite a bit more. Most Canadians have difficulty finding where it’s written in stone that we have an obligation to accept all of the flotsam and jetsam of the world. For my money about the only sensible guest is Greg Weston and even then I take what he has to say with a grain of salt.

  44. Now I’m not an expert on news papers and TV news. Most of the time I don’t know the people that are being criticized on threads like this. But for what it’s worth, I believe that this issue boils down to corruption. In my view, this shady reporting is more a result of a disingenuous media trying to control the message rather than the “picket fence” theory. I do not believe for one second that this issue has anything to do with an Ottawa echo chamber. These creeps know damn well they’re spinning the truth, and they seem to have no qualms about sacrificing their professional integrity if they think it will pad their pockets today. This is what ET’s been talking about. These commies have no concern for the future of their industry, or those that follow so long as they get paid today.

    Kursk is right. Weston got his panties in a knot when covering Harper’s first federal election tour. As defacto leader of the travelling press corps, he was put in his place by SH in a power struggle as to when/where/how access would be granted. He got scuff marks on his lower lip from dragging it on the ground after that, and has NOT forgotten nor forgiven. It was fun to watch.
