Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What They Say About SDA
"Smalldeadanimals doesn't speak for the people of Saskatchewan" - Former Sask Premier Lorne Calvert
"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
Okay, who is going to send copies to Jenny, CBC and the Finance Dept.
Just read an article of a group that is sending notices to 295 university presidents in the US telling them they can be sued for denying free speech. Hmmm. Maybe add the unis in Ontario.
Yawn.
Eggs-actly, Kate. GR-8 headline, como siempre.
The more the state apparatchiks talk about human rights, the fewer we have. So, what human rights will the Museum highlight?
Certainly not those of most Canadians, just the visible-minority, victim-class kind, one of which L. Fister must be a member.
If a museum is a place where we can show our kids artifacts of the past which we remember with nostalgia, it’s appropriate.
There should be a blank space provided explaining that iitis reserved for the constitutional amendment that gives canadians property rights.
Re: Human rights Mausoleum – Winnipeg
Have written them several times asking if their “Rights of the Child” presentation would be be gender-agnostic.
(a subtle reference to the observant jewish community’s practice of inhumane neonatal male circumcision.)
No answer as yet.
The property rights (not) enshrined in Canada’s “Constitution”.
excuse me….could you direct me to the ‘tommy douglas’ wing of the museum please….i’d particularly enjoy seeing his master’s thesis…yes his M.A. on eugenics…..with it’s focus on that worthless amoral irish/french canadian subset of dole taking alcoholic feebs.
This is why the lefties cling so desperately to their most prized possession…the CBC….Pravda.
They will defend their hold to our last $$$.
And could you direct me to the Famous Five, who where all for euginics(sp)and frontal lobotemies?
Obviously “lobotemies” are popular with this crowd.
Actually one could either ignore or laugh off this ridiculous myth making production if the Aspers were paying for it instead of we, the tax payers of Canada. That is really what angers me.
Right you are Llyod. We get a lot of you leftist lobometies here. But at least Kate doesn’t ban you, like the left blogs do.Equal rights…NOT…heh
Yikes! From the Twitter comments posted at the Canadian Museum for (not “of”?) Human Rights Website: “Today is the perfect day to learn more about human rights!”
“We can all be human rights champions! Take small steps everyday towards big changes.” #humanrightsday
I ain’t the twitter expert; I don’t twit. Is humanrightsday an individual human, or an official, taxpayer-funded twitterer? Either way, the jollying-along-children fortune-cookie Pravda patter should tell you everything you need to know about this grisly project.
I’ll support a Human Right’s Museum when the feds restore my chartered human rights up until then I consider this a holocaust museum on the taxpayer’s dime.
Fister Could have posted this on the drunk thread but one of the Kennedy children was given a lobotomy for a ‘disruptive nature’ and put in a sanatorium for life. Disruptive..in the Kennedys…
You got the wrong crowd. Check the site, this ain’t Rabble.
The whole thing is a waste of money, regardless of what displays get put in.
IF we ever get a decent majority government. Decent meaning these days Conservative… and that ain’t hay… we might get rid of the CBC and the HRC… but some of those saying they are conservative somehow do not SEEM conservative by their actions…. well, anyhow, in an idealized world… IF we ever got a majority Conservative government we should go right to town right away to get rid of these communistic things in our society and actually learn what our rights ARE and are not and then do what is necessary to enshrine them…. oh, wait… the Supreme Court would make hash out of THAT effort…
Shucks… and I thought for a moment we had a chance…
God Bless Mary Steyn. Ezra Levant. Kathy Shaidle and Kate…
First of all, this place should not receive public funding.
Secondly, there were/are acts of genocide all of the globe unfortunately. Of course we should remember the Holodmir. We should also remember the killing fields and North Korea. This will be a rather large museum.
Thirdly, one runs the risk of accommodating yahoos who think the Israelis and the like are war-mongers, ect.
Just my quick thoughts.
We used to derive our rights from Nature & the idea of God given rights. Plus documents where the people tell the government what rights they will enjoy. Today its a bunch of unelected government flunkies who feel only they have the authority to deem something a human right. In other words government by aristocracy, not natural law.
It will die with them. Natural law is named that for a reason. You fight reality, it has a way of coming back seven fold.
JMO
I would like to see the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in there after it’s repealed. It will show future generations an example of what “double-speak” is. The charter limits our rights to what is contained in the document. Previously our rights were derived from the Common Law dating back to the Magna Carta. Quite a difference and a huge contraction of what is defined as a “Canadian Right”.
You have to hire a lawyer and challenge the document to get the rights we previously had.
People that embrace the Charter are idiots.
I just followed the links and saw Ezra Levant giving it to the Alberta Human Rights Commission. Thank g-d that the American founding fathers give us the First Amendment to protect us from that garbage and the Second Amendment to make us no one messes with the First.
Levant is a new Tom Paine, pity we have a left wing fascist in the White House because he deserves a Medal of Freedom. (note: Obama gave a Medal Of Freedom to Mary Robinson, one of the people behind the 2001 Durban anti-Israel hatefest.)

I have always found a bottle in front of me preferable to a frontal lobotomy.
Just say’in.
syncrodox – That one is soooo old I had forgotten it. Thanks for the memory!
larben
No problem. BTW sooo is only spelt with three o’s.
Dedicated to Hamas, Hezbollah, Tamil Tigers, Ignatieff & Layton.
All haters of Canada who have all marched in Canadian streets together at one point or another.
Yea, lets all buy a ticket to the show.
A human rights museum. You’re kidding me, right? right?…
“They Took All The Rights, Put ‘Em In A Rights Museum” is my favourite SDA headline.
