  8. How to fill time eh Chris (Matthews I guess). Nothing good to say about the false idol? Rusting quickly is he? Non sufficient stress testing beforehand? Any scrutiny at all? No thought required just a tingle. I get that when my leg falls asleep.
    I never had white guilt but I bet a lot of Americans have marked that bill paid in full.

  14. Along the same lines, I have heard the dumbest things about Stephen Harper and many female guests/commentators on Fox News.
    As for Harper, I have heard several times “He’s got weird eyes….” Oooo. Spooky. (usually from a female BTW)
    As for attractive female guests,etc. on Fox news, I hear “Oh look, another dumb bleach blonde” and that sort of thing.
    I always start by responding with “close your eyes and just listen to what they have to say – don’t worry about what they look like”. Doesn’t seem to help much. My favourte response other than that was, “yeah, that dumb bleach blonde only has a Phd. in Constitutional Law”.

  15. Palin is too pretty, McCain is too old, Chris Christie is too fat. There seems to be a pattern on the left when judging republicans.
    Christie is popular because he’s sensible, and practical and direct. Christie looks like a guy you’d meet around town who is charming and confident. His demeanor is a nice change from the current crop of “I, I, I” people like Obama and Ignatieff. BTW, weren’t both O and Ig hailed in the media for their looks and now both of them, ironically, have insurmountable image problems with voters. See, never trust a guy that is too good looking, they tend to be a-hole(ish).
    Christie has (or will have) Palin-like popularity without as much baggage. He, like Palin, also has no problem telling off the MSM because he is able to speak directly to conservative voters. So what Mathews and the rest of the LSM thinks is irrelevant.

    You’re absolutely correct. When they have nothing else to attack, they get scared because the charismatic person carrying the right’s message is a real threat.
    Thus, they attack the superficial points because it’s all they have.
    IMHO, the right makes a huge mistake when they respond to attacks from the left about Christie’s weight, or Sarah Palin’s slip-of-the-tongue “North Korea” (supposed) gaffe.
    Don’t engage them on their terms. If you do, you let them set the terms of engagement. When they get childish – do what you ordinarily do with a child that is having a tantrum…leave ’em alone and let the rest of the world see them for what they are.
    Full Disclosure: I do sometimes find myself chuckling when someone brings up Pelosi’s googly-eyed hair-brained/maniacal look or makes a botox joke. So, I’m not so innocent.

    The reason Libs/dippers use insults is simply to shut down debate.Ignore their stupid insults and stick to facts and truth.

But but but people, stop, here in Canada we have George Strumaplatupus,..and and Lisa Laphelemn, Count Floyd Fifei the magic news fairy etal, for news? who in their right mind would want to watch Hannity Oreilly, Kelly, Mcallum,Shannon Bream, Elizabeth Grant, Patty Ann Brown, Ainsley Earhardt,…Myself and anyone else who wants the truth in news, not Peter and Kneel’s, Traverstys and Simpsons rendition of what they want Canadians to believe, give it up lying Lieberals in Canadian news, please retire into the country with Rita Mcneil and Ann Murray and reap what you all have sown all these years, bring out the forks folks for Canadian news, its done like Turdough.

  22. “a different bob” already pointed out that the same happened to Toronto mayor Rob Ford. That, too, is the first thing that popped into my head.
    Another thing of interest is how the Canadian TV broadcast media ignored the “fat” slur of Ford, choosing instead to circle their wagons around the Globe and Mail under fire, doing so by not reporting the story — all of them: CBC, Global, and of course CTVglobeMedia.
    Funny that they tie Sun News TV to FOX, accusing both of being bias and yet the 3 of them take a pass on a story that, had it been a gay slur against Smitherman, none would have passed up on.
    More evidence at why they’re so scared at Sun News TV going to air — as with the clip provided, Sun New TV would not only have done the story about the slur of Ford but the host — Levant, Adler or whomever — but would have pointed out for viewers that the other networks had chosen to ignore the story.
    Canadians would then see who’s biased.

  24. To me it isn’t as much about left/right it is about that unproductive segment of our society who feel threatened by a message of reason and responsibility. They make their way thru life living off those who produce value. Accountability in any form is a threat to their existance. Unfortunately ‘they’ are winning bigtime.
