“Our government has lost faith in the Durban process,” Kenney told a news conference. “Canada will not participate in this charade. We will not lend our good name to this Durban hatefest.
“Canada is clearly committed to the fight against racism, but the Durban process commemorates an agenda that actually promotes racism rather than combats it.”

First! Kate for PM!!
Well yes bravo! I’d be happier still if we pulled out of the UN entirely for the same and very similar reasons.
Oh Dear that news is going to cause the blather and slather crowd to roar in hysteria, bad day for the Hamas huggers and a good day for justice.
Finally the goverment shows some beck bone and doés whats right
maybe this time, instead of skipping it, we can drop a bomb on it…that could be the first step in eliminating racists and the hate they spew…
Don’t the Arabs always claim they are of the same race, semites, as the Israelis when accused of anti-semitism?
How can the Israelis be racists in that case?
Bravo, Mr. Kenney!
Biff, POW, Ka-Bam!
Take that George Galloway.
Jason ain’t returning your calls.
The United Nations, all its members, employees and supporters worldwide are the enemy of Canada and Western Civilisation.
Good on Canada. It’s high time a stand was taken on this BS!
The government would have done much more right if it supported its voter base who brought them to power.
Specifically by making a gun registry a confidence vote, annulling the restriction- and prohibition-by-name OICs regarding the makes and models of guns which looked scary for Alan Rock and his gang, and leaving the rest of firearms alone.
On the contrary, they allowed RCMP to prohibit Norinco Type97 and confiscate them from the owners. Does not sound like Haper values his supporters much. He just keeps begging for money threatening us with election which never materializes.
This is nice, but doesn’t make up for this: http://www.thehilltimes.ca/page/view/votes-11-15-2010
The Hill Times is lower than the gossip rags that are present and provide absolutely zero to the public.
The UN has no credibility and we don’t need them in any capacity. What has the UN ever done for Canada except whine that we don’t do enough. Shame on them and their tawdry crowd of supporters.
Kenney has done the right thing by rebuffing these left-wing fanatics and it’s good to see Canada telling them to go pound sand.
Where’s BJT – Burn The Jews in this one?
Ought to be good………:)
Yes, but why does it always fall on Kenney’s shoulders to say what must be said. Where the he!! is Harper?

Probably heading for Durban,…rowing fast and furious.
I think Kate and Kathy S should go to this conference, set up a booth outside with Canadian Flags, and pass out free toasted Back-Bacon sandwich’s
Now if only we could convince our government to drop participation in all the other useless U.N. conferences too.
Now if only we could convince our government to drop participation in all the other useless U.N. conferences too.
The last registry vote was a private members bill not a government bill therefore it would have been impossible to make it a confidance motion. (as far as I know any way).
I have to agree that OIC should be abolished and past OIC’s that prohibit firearms by name and or type need to be recinded.
I carried the FN C1 for a good many years for this country. Now that the entire FAL type is prohibited I can’t add it to my collection.
When I watch documentaries on the wars in Africa I’m fairly sure that I recognise FNC1’s in the hands of 12 and 14 year olds revolutionaries.
The government does need to seriously get it’s act together and star trusting Canadians again.

I’m expecting him to show up later tonight to call us all stupid Neocons.
It’s good to see our country stand up for what it right.
Mr. Kenny is clearly speaking for the Government of Canada here.
Louise above asked where PMSH is on this. He made a broad public statement affirming Canada’s support of Isreal a week or two ago. I think it was covered by SDA.
Amongst other comments, Mr. Harper went out of his way to highlight the anti-semitism of “Isreali Apartheid Week” on Canadian University campuses.
Louise – Harper isn’t making an announcement because he isn’t the control freak the media claim – it is Kenney’s portfolio and he gets to make the announcement. Now if we can just boycott the climate idiocy in Cancun as well…
From the very beginning the CPC has been consistent and a leader in its support of israel and the Jewish faith. Anyone celebrating this recent pronouncement as a first time event needs to do their homework.
Louise: “Where the he!! is Harper?”
You refer to Prime Minister Harper?
Here >
“The Canadian Prime Minister has emerged as a modern Abraham, a prophetic voice of principle in a world that is in danger of losing its conscience about Jews and Israel.”

“Where the Hell is Harper?” Solidly behind his Immigration Minister!!!
Kenney told Adler this afternoon that the UN is dominated by dictatorships and failed states so why are we still lending our good name to it?
It’s time to walk away from that cesspool of thugocracies and let them stew in their hatreds.
Hedy Frye will complain bitterly……..
The UN is dominately by despots, dictators, failed states and lefty NGO’s who somehow enjoy nationstate-like statis. The despots/dictators and failed states only contribution is corrupt bureaucrats……
For a time the US stopped paying to be insulted….then came Gulf I…..
Why, it’s enough to make one proud. Bravo Mr. Kenney! More and faster, please.
Roger, keep it up and you might convince her yet. You know what they say about perseverance.
Good job Jason Kenney.
Hopefully the government also does not attend the Cancun AGW scamfest.
Speaking of the AGW shakedown in Cancun, I heard some screed that they feel Canadian reps should just stay at home as they think we will be trying to sabotage the talks…
Really!
Nearly laughed my rs off.
I caught the last few minutes of his interview with Evan Solomon on CrapWorld and Kenney took down Galloway on all his b.s. including items like saying ‘Google Galloway and [Hizb’allah leader’s name] and you can see him handing over stacks of Euros to him; there is no difference between Hizb’allah’s terrorist anti-Semitic wing and its anti-Semitic political wing’ etc. A put-down of beauty (including correcting the lies Galloway had said in his interview with Solomon about the results/findings of his Canadian court case and pointing out that loser Galloway had come fourth in the election for his former seat).
You should put up a link if the CBC puts it online, Kate.
Louise: “Yes, but why does it always fall on Kenney’s shoulders to say what must be said. Where the he!! is Harper?”
Louise, I agree that Jason Kenney is one of the best assets the CPC has, but as for where Prime Minister Harper is on Durban III, what the others said: He’s solidly behind his Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, as LizJ points out, and he’s many times spoken out eloquently and prophetically against anti-Semitism wherever it rears its ugly head — see maz2’s links.
I hope Jason Kenney’s comments to Charles Adler — in particular, that the UN is dominated by dictatorships and failed states so why are we still lending our good name to it — is the forerunner to an announcement that Canada’s getting out of the UN cesspool altogether.
That would separate the sheep from the goats!
Well, things are looking up. A judge in the US links CAIR and Hamas. ‘Bout time.

Is it surprising that the Ceeb doesn’t have a story critical of this?
One would think that somehow the serfs there would come up with some kind of twist and spin story, putting the Tories in a bad light, its their life mission
They’re too busy kissing the feet of Danny Williams.
Here’s the Kenney-Adler podcast, for those who wish to hear it themselves.
The United Nations is full of ignorant, arrogant, unelected, unaccountable, self-entitled bureaucrats who waste other people’s time, effort and money propping up third world banana republics. I hope that boycotting this conference is one step toward Canada’s withdrawl from the United Nations.
Wow, the contrast between PM Harper’s position vis a vis Durban and western values and that of Obama could hardly be clearer.
First, check out this YouTube clip showing Michael Posner and a bunch of other State Department flacks literally inviting UN reps from Cuba, Iran, Libya, Nicaragua, Egypt and yes, even North Korea, tell the U.S. what they should be doing in order to improve their abysmal human rights record.
And the State Department flacks take it up the ole’ yinyang and then thank these despots for their valuable suggestions. Oh yeah, and while they don’t disagree with the despots’ analysis of their cruel and inhuman society, they do spend time talking about all the wonderful things their boss, Obama, is trying to do to set things right.

And at Powerline, where I picked this up, there’s also a good column giving Canada kudos for it’s strong principled stance on Durban III.
http://powerlineblog.com/
So Canada isn’t going to the “Judenrein Fest” Durban III in NYC?
Jason Kenney taking a principled stance…take a bow.
Cheers

Not only is the CPC position on Israel very commendable on it’s own I am so proud that Canada is now at the forefront of national support for Israel. We’re even ahead of the US. Except if Israel gets into a shooting war we’d be of little to no use to them :\
Addendum, Louise, to my post above about PMSH’s comments on Israel and anti-Semitism: Probably you were unaware of them because our lamestream media tends to deep-six speeches of importance that our Prime Minister makes. They’d rather concentrate on the toddlers in the HOC in the Disloyal Opposition parties — that’s more the Canadian media’s level.
Mr Kenney displays some common sense in this upside down world.
So, the Conservatives do have some junk, occasionally.
“Canada’s withdrawl from the United Nations.”
Does anyone think that a Canadian withdrawal from this cesspool of corruption would start an exodus of civilized nations. Or would such a move make Canada a pariah? One thing for sure is that a withdrawal of even a few nations who contribute in an overly generous fashion would soon bankrupt the UN circus and the world would not be one iota more imperiled.
It would be worth it just for the entertainment value of witnessing the wailing and gnashing of teeth from Ignatieff, Layton and the CBC.
Just surprised the Red Star isn’t more anti Harper on this.
Good move though. This is a group that want not an end to racism, but an end to Kuffar.
Its all about hating Jews & exalting Islam. Period. A nice platform to Criminalize the Israeli State. Who’s end as the college kid said, mass Killing Of Jews. Thats the fantasy in these sick minds.
