  2. I am beyond sick of this. I’m not even talking about the usual professional-victim self-appointed Muslim spokeswhiners. Via a commenter at Neo-Neocon’s blog, this is from Wikipedia’s entry on NPR:
    In 1995 Nina Totenberg commented that if there was “retributive justice,” former Sen. Jesse Helms would “get AIDS from a transfusion, or one of his grandchildren will get it.” Totenburg kept her job.
    n the December 19, 1995, broadcast of All Things Considered, NPR commentator Andrei Codrescu reported that some Christians believe in a “rapture” and 4 million believers will ascend to Heaven immediately. He continued, “The evaporation of 4 million who believe this crap would leave the world an instantly better place.”
    Codrescu refused to apologize and, as of October 2010, continues to offer commentary for NPR, despite the receipt of more than 40,000 complaints.
    As for that little gnome in the Michael Coren clip via Matt that Robert W. posted @10:02 – the one being strangled by a clown bow-tie, the one who makes George Costanza look like Brad Pitt, who makes Antonia Zerbesias sound sane enough to walk a dog unassisted, babbling on about what a worldy sophisticate of sartorialism he is, the guy whose artwork, if you care to google it, looks like an especially bad pre-raphaelite mated with the cover of a fantsy book about teenage vampires – I wouldn’t want to type what I was thinking about him. It had to do with travel plans, and poetic justice, and me not feeling an ounce of human sympathy.
    I am sick of these totalitarians, these marxists, these smug, dishonest, stupid people.

  3. The comment of Juan Williams that seems to have been missed is “political correctness can lead to some kind of paralysis where you don’t address reality.”

  4. The only reason they worry about his comments is because he’s a visable minority commentator. Had it been a white man making these remarks they’d all be sceaming for blood.

  6. Two things about Mississauga Matt’s youtube of the Michael Coren show with Andrew Lawton, Claire Hoy, and Michael Shapcott (Crackpot?) (h/t Robert W. (Vancouver)):
    First, Miss.Matt, could you put your identifier SDAMatt2@Youtube somewhere other than where it is, as it obscures information I’d like to access about the person being interviewed. I can always see the person’s name but never what organization they’re with, because your identifier sits on top of it …
    Second, as happens too often on the Michael Coren show, this segment didn’t scratch the itch. Why did no one describe what Muslim men often wear to self-identify as Muslims? Michael Coren mentioned the niqab and the hijab, which Muslim women often wear, but not the “usual” male Muslim garb such as the little white hats, the long, flowing white robes, the white cotton pants, (Coren did mention the beards) — or, as Rose, so colourfully described them: “white nighties [and] pots on their heads.” Touche!!
    Michael Shapcott, whoever he is, had the lion’s share of the segment, with Andrew Lawton and Claire Hoy occasionally chiming in and being badly short-changed in the time department. There are so many good points they could have made which just went sliding off the edge of the discussion.
    Too bad.
