  1. For heaven’s sake, davenport – think. The railroad company is ‘in debt’ to you because they are using your money towards their construction of a new railroad. Got it? That company is in debt to you. Think. Just because you are not in debt doesn’t mean that your investment isn’t operating as a debt mode. Look at the whole picture not the linear line.

    Yes, that’s true, but then your statement should have been “Investing, after all, involves someone going into debt.”
    The investee does not actually do any investing. Rather, they are invested in, in which case they are indebted to their investor(s).
