Insult Christ

… get an art’s grant; insult Mo … you know the drill:

Listen to what President Obama, Justice Breyer, General Petraeus, The Seattle Weekly and Bluehost internet services are telling us about where we’re headed. As I said in America Alone, multiculturalism seems to operate to the same even-handedness as the old Cold War joke in which the American tells the Soviet guy that “in my country everyone is free to criticize the President”, and the Soviet guy replies, “Same here. In my country everyone is free to criticize your President.” Under one-way multiculturalism, the Muslim world is free to revere Islam and belittle the west’s inheritance, and, likewise, the western world is free to revere Islam and belittle the west’s inheritance. If one has to choose, on balance Islam’s loathing of other cultures seems psychologically less damaging than western liberals’ loathing of their own.
It is a basic rule of life that if you reward bad behavior, you get more of it. Every time Muslims either commit violence or threaten it, we reward them by capitulating. Indeed, President Obama, Justice Breyer, General Petraeus, and all the rest are now telling Islam, you don’t have to kill anyone, you don’t even have to threaten to kill anyone. We’ll be your enforcers. We’ll demand that the most footling and insignificant of our own citizens submit to the universal jurisdiction of Islam. So Obama and Breyer are now the “good cop” to the crazies’ “bad cop”. Ooh, no, you can’t say anything about Islam, because my friend here gets a little excitable, and you really don’t want to get him worked up. The same people who tell us “Islam is a religion of peace” then turn around and tell us you have to be quiet, you have to shut up because otherwise these guys will go bananas and kill a bunch of people.

Living proof Christ saves sinners and Mo recruits them to do his murderous will.

  2. Personally, I think the way Obama and crew handled this Florida Pastor / free speech incident is the critical turning point for all of us.
Obama essentially meddled in a local domestic issue again which is none of the President’s business, and now the local Gainesville cops are taking their cue from the Prez and billing the Pastor for security costs. The Pastor is being blamed for the violence threatened against him, rather than the criminals who made the threats.
The lesson we can learn from this: It did no good for the Pastor to cooperate with Obama and cede his free speech right presumably for “the greater good”. He was punished anyway by his bank, municipal licensing bureaucrats, and now even the local Police. NOT FOR ACTUALLY BURNING KORANS, BUT JUST FOR CONTEMPLATING BURNING KORANS. Instead of being rewarded for being reasonable and calling off his protest, he was punished!
The next time a Pastor comes along with a hair-brained idea to protest Islam, I promise my full support. I don’t care if the guy is a Bible-thumping, help-fire brimstone preacher, with two two heads and the eye of a cyclops, fur growing on his teeth and a six foot monkey tail, I’m supporting his free speech rights even if he burns 500 tractor-trailer loads of Korans and unreasonably depletes the entire world reserve of Korans, hence launching us into a nuclear war with Pakistan, etc.
    I’m supporting him anyway!!!

  3. PET Cemetery Multiculturalism has a question:
Was that you, Charlie? You are Canadian, Charlie. Why did “they” detain you, Charlie?
    Are you a “man”, Charlie?
Why were you flying to Pakistan, “man”?
    Left-liberalism’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
    …-
“Diverted plane sent on its way following bomb threat, Canadian still detained
The Province – Carmen Chai, Bradley Bouzane – ‎6 minutes ago‎
Anti-terrorism police (C) detain a man after a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) passenger jet landed at Arlanda Airport near Stockholm following a bomb threat September …”

(Mo is Mo Strong, Canadian “Liberal leader” Bob Rae’s Uncle Mo. Moh is AlMoh, latterly of Mecca-Modina, KSA.)

  4. Truely stupid move on Harper’s part Cjunk, personally I’ll offend Islam as often as I choose and if there is consequences so beit but I will not surrender my freedosm to a faith that espouse death, death and more death heaped upon those who offend their dead prophet.

  5. It is so (I’m trying to think of a word other than nice) important to hear someone intelligent and lucid take on this subject. There are too many expostulators and name callers who add nothing to the debate except indignation and noise. I understand their sentiments because I share them. Sometimes, before the enormity of the problem and the insanity of our leaders, I subside in helpless seething silence.
However, once in a while, someone like Steyn comes along who has both guts and vocabulary, and I rediscover something resembling hope. It will take more than anger to deal with this. It will require some serious and risky political effort. I wish sometimes that I could be both brave and influential. As it is, I’m a fart in the wind–perhaps a potent fart but not impressive.

  6. Cjunk @ 12:34: “At least it’s his country … what of Harper and MacKay getting into it?”
I think I implied that it’s “the handwriting on the wall” for all of us. Obama’s interference was essentially the first act of an unelected abstract “Global Government” with Obama as the unelected leader and other governments following suit, including Harper etc.
I honestly think the precedent is extremely dangerous because it means that any legitimate act that causes fanatics and thugs to threaten or carry out violence against someone can be blamed on the victim instead of the perpetrators. Police will get into the habit of excusing the thugs and not protecting victims, as we have already seen in Caledonia here in Canada. And the Lefty commentators are already coming out full force in support of the arbitrary punishments being reaped by the Pastor, even though he cooperated.
I honestly think Obama should be IMPEACHED before the next election, and I think there is sufficient evidence to do it now. It’s in everybody’s interest — not just U.S. citizens. Radicals everywhere will take their cues from Obama and attack any and all legitimate free expression by conservatives using the same pretext.
But only the Yanks can impeach Obama — I hope our American friends are watching and take steps in that direction “for the greater good”.

  7. Ricardo: I didn’t disagree with you. Your points are dead on.
I was just pointing out that our own PM, Mr. Harper, showed himself to be nothing but a transnational tool; classic progressive and about as conservative as … let’s see … Mr. Obama. What’s worse, he brought in his own personal religious beliefs which should have nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the issue or the upholding of freedom of expression.
Harper was playing to the progressive class, as usual, and only because he’s simply a willing caretaker of the Canadian progressive realm until the Liberals can get themselves organized enough to take the government back (as Steyn has previously pointed out).

  8. Mark Steyn, once again, has addressed all the brain dead reactions of the ‘leaders’ of free nations to any criticism of the Koran crowd. He has articulated the alarm in all the hearts and minds of sane people to the spineless reactions of all these ‘leaders’ to a declaration that one free citizen plans to burn a meaningless book. United in Hate – the squishy kowtowing is enabling the degradation of human beings to labour automations who keep the head down and the mouth closed – in fear, cowering to the abysmal existence of non- entity; that of a state slave. As in 1939, Fascism and Communism are once again united against free, God faring people. If people don’t speak up now we will be scratching at the wires in our collective jaws sometime in the near future.
Mark has fired a warning shot; ‘Chamberlain’ is cowering in Europe and in North America – meanwhile what is the ‘other’ hand in China/Russia plotting? All the human haters are laughing at us (US), as they plot an easy victory.

  9. Cjunk, ditto.
People have understood democratic principles for centuries and progressives today seemed to have imposed a sort of “mass amnesia”. Here’s quote from the early 19th century South American liberator, Simon Bolivar:
“The authoritarianism of a single individual has frequently ruined Democratic Governments. The people become accustomed to obey and the authoritarian becomes accustomed to give them orders; this is where usurpation and tyranny originate”.

  10. I’ve brought up “historical amnesia” in many polite conversations and simply get a blank stare and an attempt by the other party to get away!
‘Guess I’m in the wrong — that is, left — company!
It’s time to take back our history, our principles and values, and the faith upon which they’re based. If we don’t/won’t stand for something, we’ll fall for anything.
Ken (Kulak), you’re so right. The liberal western churches are cop outs and traitors to our faith and our religious heritage. They’re often the first and loudest useful idiots to champion Islam, in the name of ecumenism and multiculturalism, while they denigrate “the scandal of particularity” in Christianity, which states unequivocally that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no one comes to God the Father except through Him. That’s one of the reasons why I left the Anglican Church of Canada
and why I chose to be received into the Roman Catholic Church. Read some of Benedict XVI’s writings and speeches on the subject of militant Islam. He’s got their number and he’s not backing down!
It’s been pointed out that the fall of Rome wasn’t so much caused by the invasion of barbarians from without as it was from cultural suicide from within. I see a number of parallels to our situation in the West.

  11. while we’re on the subject, here’s something else for the caustic right wing xenophobes to get worked up about:
    3w.upi.com/Top_News/World-News/2010/09/25/Mosque-carried-2000-miles-to-Arctic-town/UPI-16951285393368/

  12. If we hold that burning ANY book is an act of ignorance, how do we feel about Muslims blowing up mosques and other Muslims and, by default, blowing up their Korans? Are we so bent on appeasement that we don’t understand that human life and the values we have in the West have become secondary to the sentiments of an emotionally backward tribe?
Political leaders would have done well not to dip their oars in. Trapped between pleasing the public and speaking common sense, they would rather be milquetoasts.

  13. Xenophobes? Well I guess even moderate Muslims must be “Xenophobes” where other Muslims are concerned, at least if you listened to Jordan’s King Abdullah on Stewart’s Daily Show thursday night.
According to King Abdullah, Muslim moderates don’t have any voice in the Middle East because the extremists control everything (sounds like an “Islamophobe”, no?). Abdullah also said that because of the Muslim extremists the Middle East is headed for another major war (sounds like a “xenophobic” tea-partier, no?).
Stewart could hardly believe his ears, asked King Abdullah to repeat what he said about war, then asked him how he be so calm about it. The King’s answer? “Oh, we’re used to it. Life is always like that in the Middle East”.
Stewart almost pooped himself. And it was really great to see a Lefty get a little dose of reality for a change straight from a Muslim.
Xenophobia and Islamophobia? BxxL SxxT! Moderate Muslims know that the threat of Islamic extremism is real and it’s BIG and controls everything, because they live it every day. They just don’t panic about it.

  14. The Man-Child is using another Court Jester to draw a “False Authority” to his agenda…Weak King’s need jesters, or is it that jesters need a Weak King..
YES he should not have threatened to BURN the Koran, and the Marxist POTUS in building a justification… should never have used the G-Zero gambit
“The authoritarianism of a single individual has frequently ruined Democratic Governments. The people become accustomed to obey and the authoritarian becomes accustomed to give them orders; this is where usurpation and tyranny originate”. Ricc
True… It is not a question that man needs an Authoritarian source.. It’s a question of where he seeks that source. Man will continue to make that same mistake if Individualism is not understood, equally, by all offending levels of a society.. JMHO

  15. NASA. Working hard to put a camel on the moon for Islamic self esteem.
Failing that there is no shortage of those willing to be blown out of a mighty gun into orbit.

  16. I hate the way Steyn beat me to “useless idiot”. I was saving that for when bleet ot T made a re-appearance.
He’s right about everything, of course, as usual; well, maybe he’s just a tad too hard on poor confused dippy Molly Norris. Her life has been ruined by this, after all.

  17. I like the idea of a mosque in the Arctic – during Ramadan the Islamists can fast from before dawn to after sunset – a period of about six months.

  18. Aviator – ever read Mordecai Richler’s Solomon Gursky was Here? A similar problem presents itself, but with a tribe of esquimaux who’ve converted to an eccentric form of Orthodox Judaism.
There’s a lot of aviation in that one too.

  19. This is simple..if their so called inmnii calls for someone to be killed…or what ever word they use…Put out an international warrant for their arrest….that at least keeps the blow hearts in his mud house shagging the sheep or little boys;and not traveling around..and governments should stand up and tell the bin heads there is a price on there head..but make it huge enought to get action…see how that sits with the ass holes..

  20. Obama essentially meddled in a local domestic issue again which is none of the President’s business, and now the local Gainesville cops are taking their cue from the Prez and billing the Pastor for security costs. The Pastor is being blamed for the violence threatened against him, rather than the criminals who made the threats.
Yet, somehow, I doubt that if, say, some anonymous “right-winger” (’cause everyone knows how violent we are) were to make to widely known that he was considering commissioning a Mafia hit contract on those officials expressly due to their immoral attempt to punish this fellow they’d receive similar bills.

  21. Ilíon
One should speak of the wise-guys with respect…something about sleeping with the fishes…
It has been “rumoured” that Park 51 will never happen…..the New Jersey “patriotic good fellas”
control waste hauling construction unions and cement.

  22. Black Mamba: “…well, maybe he’s just a tad too hard on poor confused dippy Molly Norris. Her life has been ruined by this, after all.”
I don’t know Mamba, I blow kind of hot and cold on the Molly Norris thing.
On the one hand she did step up and make fun of the Mo-ists. Which is good, because her cartoons never shrank from making fun of the Jesus-ists right? Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. I respect that in a Leftist, they don’t usually do it.
On the other hand, she seems to have been so totally clueless that she expected the same no-reaction from the Followers of Mo that she’s been getting all along from the Redneck Jesus Shouters. Basically she’s a follow-the-herd, fair weather Lefty who stumbled into doing the right thing by accident.
Now she’s gone like a boot in the mud, never to be seen again. Slightly sad, but appropriate.
    No guts, no glory.

  23. Phantom – isn’t Seattle full of hippy dipsticks who might as well be living on another planet? Sure, she’s “clueless”. She admitted as much. From Wiki: ‘Asked why she initially publicized it (the cartoon, and Everybody Draw Mohammed Day), she replied, “Because I’m an idiot.”‘
She’s been foolish and cowardly, hardly my hero. Still, look at paragraph eleven of the above Steyn article. Norris knows who he is; she wrote to him; I’d guess she keeps up with his commentary on her situation. Right now, as she goes into hiding like a mobster who ratted, on her way out the door she get’s another kick in the ass from a conservative hero (a hero of mine; I wouldn’t be reading this site if I hadn’t been digging Steyn back when he wrote for the London Spectator, of all things).
Now Mark Steyn signed up for this conflict: He’s smart, he’s famous, he’s articulate and brilliant, he has guns, he’s (I’m guessing) well-off, he knows what’s what. But Molly Norris? Check out Andrea Harris’ piece:
    http://spleenville.com/2010/08/18/dear-conservatives-this-is-why-no-one-likes-you/
I don’t agree with all of Harris’ bit, but I do think a little kindness could be extended. Norris doesn’t want “glory”, just not to have her throat cut. That’s not inspiring, but it’s human, isn’t it?

  24. Well Mamba, she might have to grow a pair if she doesn’t want her throat cut, know what I mean?
Norris had the choice to defend both herself and what she (supposedly) believes against barbarians. If she’d stood up to them, maybe announced she needed some money for guns and door locks, I’m sure the Conservative Blogoverse would have come up with whatever she needed. Look at Kate’s legal defense fund, right? Look at Hirisi Ali.
Norris chose to appease the barbarians instead, then run and hide when that didn’t work. You know, let -other people- fight the meanies because she’s too little. Also known as abdicating responsibility due to cowardice.
Its not a path I support, that’s all I’m saying. We’re in a war, running away is bad.
If she comes forward later saying “F- this, I’m fighting!” then I’ll support her like I do Steyn, Levant, Kate, Kathy Shaidle and etc.
