  1. “What Helpless is about is the failure of government to govern and to protect all its citizens equally.”
    Sounds like a good read. Isn’t this what people have been complaining about for years. Special privileges and blind justice that always favours the squeaky wheel and not the law abiding contributing citizen?

  2. Please refer to previous comments on minarets where one commenter mentioned the law is paramount and belongs to the citizen. Tribal lands minarets what ever provides the basis for special interest pressure will win the day with inadequate politicians and civil servants setting up employment for their children. Cheers;

  3. The folks of Caledonia aren’t helpless.
    They’re just unable to do anything because defending themselves makes them the criminals in McSquity’s mother’s eyes.

  4. as i keep repeating…get a majority PC government elected and odious shit like Caledonia will be a thing of the past..
    and the CBC…and a wretched excess of other odious entities…
    Parliament can make ANY law it wishes…

  5. Kudos to Christie Blatchford for the intestinal fortitude to put to print and shed light on a sordid debacle and ongoing mess, to this day, right here in southern Ontario.
    MSM, corrupt government enablers.
    I am amazed that Christie Blatchford continues to function within the GlobeMedia corporate stable.

  6. Time to do a one-time payment to every Indian family and say this lump sum is it – you are now on your own.

  7. Well said Nicole. Even a million bucks to each one will bring around positive returns very quickly.

  8. Canadians have been taken to the cleaners one too many times by Native-Canadians.
    The hyphenation crap has got to stop. You’re a Canadian or you’re not a Canadian, and we’re all equal before the law, there should be no financial bailouts for any group. Every Canadian should be required to pull their own weight.
    So, I’m with Nicola: One big payout for Natives and then they have to sink or swim. We might be very surprised: Once responsibility’s shifted on to one’s shoulders, more care and caution is usually taken with one’s resources.
    As for Joe’s comment: “I am amazed that Christie Blatchford continues to function within the GlobeMedia corporate stable,” I was thinking the same thing, till it occurred to me that she and Wente are two columnists who might be the reason why some right-wing folks still actually read the Probe and Fail. They need all the help they can get, so a few token common-sense writers aren’t a bad thing to keep on your roster.

  9. With a forward by Julian Fantino – who could be accused of retreating….because he never advanced in the first place.
