  1. I’ve tried to keep quiet, but I just can’t hold it in any longer. I have to tell everyone that Pres. George W Bush shows a complete lack of foresight. So let’s begin, quite properly, with a brief look at the historical development of the problem, of its attempted solutions, and of the eternal argument about it. Plagiarism doesn’t work. So why does George cling to it? If you were to ask George that question, he’d blather on about vigilantism and pharisaism in some sort of anti-democratic attempt to confuse and bewilder his listeners and thereby avoid ever actually answering the question. And for those pompous wing nuts who want to hide behind the argument that his subordinates are not doctrinaire, flighty skivers but rather stubborn swaggerers, my question is simply this: What’s the difference?
    George uses the word “anticonfederationist” to justify elevating his complaints to prominence as epistemological principles. In doing so, he is reversing the meaning of that word as a means of disguising the fact that one of the great mysteries of modern life is, Has he ever considered what would happen if a small fraction of his time spent trying to brandish the word “chlamydobacteriaceae” (as it is commonly spelled) to hoodwink people into believing that he is a martyr for freedom and a victim of classism was instead spent on something productive? I once asked George that question—I am still waiting for an answer. In the meantime, let me point out that if you hear George spouting off about how his magic-bullet explanations are Right with a capital R, you should tell him that it has been my position and remains my position that he needs some serious professional help. Better yet, tell him to stop getting his opinions from the most rebarbative scumbags you’ll ever see and start doing some research of his own. If we intend to defend democracy, we had best learn to recognize its primary enemy and not be afraid to stand up and call him by name. That name is Pres. George W Bush.

  2. It is the job of the President of the US to defend freedom as it is defined in the US Constitution.
    Freedom flows from God-given inalienable rights that no individual can confer or take away from any other individual.
    Dubya had to react to an event, 9/11, that happened, an event in which the US was attacked on its soil for only the second time in history (Pearl Harbour being the other).
    If Dubya is so stupid, what does that make the people who could not defeat him for his second term? More than stupid?

    It’s nice to see you zealously defending the dubya, and that’s an interesting read but the truth is that no one cares. People only really use words like “facts” and “reason” to give them credibility. People hate George Bush because it’s a gut feeling. People hate Stephen Harper because it’s a gut feeling. “Gawsh I don’t know much about his policies but I sure don’t like his haircut!” It’s for exactly the same reason people like Obama.
    It doesn’t matter how much aid Bush gives Africa, Africa isn’t a cool cause celebre anymore. His name, his look and his politics makes people angry because their guts and friends tell them to. It can’t be debated or reasoned with. So let the mouth-breathing seething vitriol flow!

The full truth of my conclusion I shall develop in the course of this letter but the conclusion’s general outline is that Dr. Friend of USA’s projects are based on a denial of reality, on the substitution of a deliberately falsified picture of the world in place of reality. And this dishonesty, this refusal to admit the truth, will have some very serious consequences for all of us in the blink of an eye. I fully intend to challenge the soft bigotry of low expectations. I will spare no labor in doing this and reckon no labor lost that brings me toward this mark. Even so, if natural selection indeed works by removing the weakest and most genetically unfit members of a species then Friend is clearly going to be the first to go.     Once again, it’s the president’s duty to uphold the constitution and its values, including the principles upon which the constitution was based.

    Dubya’s heart was in the right place after the 9/11 attacks and the title of commander in chief is central to the US constitution.
    His actions were intended to prevent further attacks on US soil by engaging those who wished to destroy the US on foreign soil.
    Now, the nutbar jihadists are not the only threat to the US and its history of protecting freedoms of the oppressed around the world.

    Article 2(4) of the UN Charter generally bans the use of force by states except when carefully circumscribed conditions are met, stating:
    “All members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United Nations.”
    The US basically makes or breaks most international legislature, yet they didn’t even take the time to set themselves up not to do wrong.

    First, you cannot have sovereign states cede their right of defense. That necessity, which happens to be embedded in the US Constitution, takes priority over any international agreement. Why? Because the sovereign state and its constitution takes priority over any non-sovereign situation. Unless and until there are NO sovereign states, then that article is meaningless.
    There is absolutely no reason to cede sovereignty to the corrupt, non-elected decision-makers of the UN.
    The Iraq War, as I’ve said before, will go down in history as one of the best decisions of the last decade. Bush recognized that the sole cause of Islamic fascism is the refusal of the Islamic states to modernize and enable a middle class to have economic and political power, i.e., democracy. He enabled Iraq to move out of dictatorship and into democracy, hoping that this movement would diffuse to the other ME nations.
    Obama, with his refusal to acknowledge the demonstrations for democracy of the people of Iran and his enabling Iran to obtain nuclear weapons and move its imperialist agenda into other ME nations – is harming this agenda of freedom.
    No, BTJ, a religious fanatic is not defined as someone who openly states that he believes that god guides his decisions and that he believes in god. The pope says the same thing; is he a fanatic? No, he is a man of faith and committed to his faith.
    A religious fanatic, – and there’s no real objective definition – refers to those who reject objective reality as causal of anything and insist that all events are metaphysically caused (by god). Did Bush deny the reality of the economy? Did he institute tax cuts or call on god to provide for the people? Did he deny the reality of Islamic fascism and sit back and call on god to deal with it?
    Oh – and the president cannot declare war without the approval of Congress. Congress approved the Iraq War. It has zilch to do with the UN.
    By the way – do you think you could try for a rational, reasoned, empirically grounded argument or is all you can do is invective, insult-filled, name-calling attitude-filled rants? Hmmm?

  40. There’s no such thing as an illegal war when dealing with animals. Does anyone think ‘negotiating’ with Iran, Iraq (in the past) or North Korea would result in any sort of happy medium?
    The isn’t much sense in the UN declaring that you must abide by Marquiss of Queensbury rules when the other guy opens the match with a swift kick to the nads.
    Bush’s administration did the right thing on that one. He was far from perfect, but at least he wasn’t hell bent on bankrupting the country for a shallow set of ideals.

    Bush did little of any consequence to further conserative values and save the US from ultimate ruin.

I don’t think Bush was a particularily good president in many ways but do think he made the correct decision to attack Afghanistan and Iraq. In some way you must agree since Hussein in particular almost daily flouted the UN/International law which you seem so fond of. But mainly what I would like to know is what you read. You regularly condescend to others for not reading so please recommend some material to enlighten all of of us(but please no Chomsky).

  50. I believe it was Abe Lincoln who said that he’d sooner lose the election with the military vote, than win without it. It was the military that pulled Bush through in his second term. Barak will never win or lose with that vote. Missing George W!
